Liu Anran looked at Bai Lu with an icy expression, "What do you want Chu Yunxiao to choose?"
“It’s not about what I want Chu Yunxiao to choose, it’s about who Chu Yunxiao will choose between you and his mother,” Bai Lu said.
Chu Yunxiao said, "An Ran is here. Now release my mother."
"Come with me," Bai Lu said and then left.
"You guys stay here and help out, An Ran and I will go together," Chu Yunxiao said.
Seeing that Qin Ruixu was about to go too, Liu Anran stopped him, saying, "Bai Lu clearly has ulterior motives. You stay at the base in case she has any other plans."
Qin Ruixu felt that Liu Anran's words made sense, but he was still worried, so he couldn't help but remind them, "Be careful, and make sure you take good care of yourselves."
"I will," Liu Anran said, and chased after Chu Yunxiao and the others.
Liu Changqing thought for a moment and was about to follow, but Qin Ruixu stopped him, saying, "The base needs people right now, so don't meddle."
Liu Changqing dared not disobey Qin Ruixu, and could only watch Liu Anran and the others walk further and further away, the morning sun shining on them, gilding them with a layer of golden light.
Bai Lu noticed that Qin Ruixu hadn't followed, and a hint of regret flashed in her eyes.
The three arrived at the edge of a cliff and saw Qin Yuhan hanging from a tree.
"Mom!" Chu Yunxiao exclaimed.
"Yunxiao, please save Mom!" Qin Yuhan said in anguish.
Just as Chu Yunxiao was about to walk over to untie Qin Yuhan, several bullets hit his feet, forcing him to stop and turn around to glare angrily at Bai Lu.
"Bai Lu, what exactly do you want?"
Bai Lu pointed to the bottom of the cliff and said, "I don't want anything. If you let Liu Anran jump, I'll let your mother go?"
“I’ll jump,” Liu Anran said.
Bai Lu looked at Liu Anran in shock, "You're so straightforward."
Liu Anran walked to the edge of the cliff, looked at Bai Lu and said, "Release my mother-in-law and I'll jump."
Bai Lu shouted, "Release that old woman!"
As soon as Bai Lu finished speaking, a man emerged from the shadows and placed Qin Yuhan on the ground.
Qin Yuhan lay on the ground, looking at Liu Anran standing on the edge of the cliff, and quickly said, "Anran, you can't jump! What will happen to the four children if you jump?"
Chu Yunxiao came to Qin Yuhan's side, checked her body, and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she was alright.
"Yunxiao, quickly bring An Ran over here," Qin Yuhan said.
“Mom, you’re going to die if An Ran comes here,” Chu Yunxiao said.
Qin Yuhan was speechless.
Chu Yunxiao narrowed his eyes slightly and quickly struck several lightning balls into the shadows, followed by several screams.
A cold glint flashed in Bai Lu's eyes; she had long known that Chu Yunxiao would not surrender easily.
Bai Lu shrieked a few times before three figures swiftly reached the cliff and launched a rapid attack on Liu Anran.
Seeing that the three men's fingernails were long and sharp and unafraid of sunlight, Liu Anran's expression turned serious. She dared not be careless and cautiously faced the enemy.
Chu Yunxiao bent down, picked up Qin Yuhan, and carried her to a secluded spot. He instructed her, "Mom, I'm going to help An Ran. You stay here and don't come out."
Although Qin Yuhan was worried about Chu Yunxiao, she couldn't stop him from rescuing Liu Anran, because Liu Anran was her wife and the mother of her child.
"Okay, be careful," Qin Yuhan said helplessly.
While using her supernatural abilities to fight back, Liu Anran also distanced herself from Qin Menghan and her son to prevent Bai Lu from taking Qin Menghan hostage again.
After settling Qin Yuhan in, Chu Yunxiao wanted to go up and help, but Liu Anran stopped him, saying loudly, "Chu Yunxiao, go back and protect your mother. I can handle it."
Liu Anran was unsure of Bai Lu's strength or whether she had any backup plans. What if Bai Lu manipulated zombies to capture Qin Menghan and force her to commit suicide?
