Yunlong and Chu Chen looked at the Chu family members standing at the gate, but their faces didn't show much joy. After exchanging a glance, Yunlong opened the door and let them in.
Grandma Chu and Qin Yuhan looked at Yunlong and Chu Chen with excitement, their faces filled with joy.
"Yunlong, do you still remember your grandmother?" Qin Yuhan asked with a smile.
"I remember." Yunlong said calmly as he greeted Qin Yuhan and Grandma Chu, "Great-Grandma, Grandma!"
"Yunlong, Chen'er, have you missed your father?" Chu Yunxiao asked with a smile.
Yunlong pursed his lips and looked at Chu Yunxiao, then politely replied, "I've thought about it occasionally!"
Chu Yunxiao paused for a moment, had he thought of it occasionally?
What kind of answer is this?
"Dad, if you hadn't appeared in front of me today, I wouldn't even remember I have a dad," Chu Chen said.
"Dad's been busy and hasn't had time to visit you," Chu Yunxiao said with a smile.
"Oh! So Dad's busy. Then you can go on with your work. We're very happy now, you don't need to come see us. Mom will raise us just the same without you." Chu Chen said without glancing at Chu Yunxiao, then turned and went back into the house. He hadn't finished his rice porridge yet and had to hurry back to eat, otherwise his mother would scold him for wasting food.
Seeing that Chu Chen was very cold towards Chu Yunxiao, Grandma Chu frowned and asked, "Yunxiao, why is Chu Chen so cold towards you?"
Chu Yunxiao sighed, "It's probably because I haven't seen them for too long and they're angry. Also, Chen'er is rather quiet and doesn't like to talk much."
Yunlong glanced coldly at Chu Yunxiao, "So Dad knew that he hadn't come to see us in a long time. I thought Dad was still entangled with Bailu and had forgotten about me, Mom, my brother, my sister and me."
Seeing that Yunlong and Chuchen were not enthusiastic towards him at all, and showed no joy at their long-awaited reunion, Chu Yunxiao felt somewhat depressed.
"Dad hasn't forgotten you. He's going to finish what he's doing and then come see you."
Yunlong no longer believed Chu Yunxiao and remained noncommittal about his explanations. He was past the age of needing a father, and whether Chu Yunxiao visited them or not was irrelevant to him.
In the restaurant, Qin Ruixu put down his chopsticks, took out a tissue to wipe his mouth, and looked at Liu Anran, saying, "It's probably Yunxiao and my sister who's here."
Liu Anran smiled and said frankly, "It was expected."
"Will you go back with Yunxiao?" Qin Ruixu asked.
"Will you kick us out?" Liu Anran asked rhetorically.
If Qin Ruixu asks her to leave, she has nowhere to live right now, so she can only stay at the Chu family's house for a few days until she finds a place to live before moving out.
"No!" Qin Ruixu said.
Since he let Liu Anran move in, he won't kick her and the four children out.
“Your home is safe and comfortable. If you don’t kick me out, I’ll continue to live here,” Liu Anran said.
"Do as you please," Qin Ruixu said indifferently.
No sooner had Qin Ruixu finished speaking than Chu Chen walked into the restaurant with a blank expression. Qin Ruixu asked Chu Chen, "Chen'er, do you see that your father is unhappy?"
"I'm neither unhappy nor happy," Chu Chen said nonchalantly.
Qin Ruixu saw that Chu Chen was so mature that he didn't seem like a two-year-old child at all, and that his feelings for Chu Yunxiao seemed very indifferent. A hint of surprise flashed in his deep eyes.
"Chen'er, do you have a problem with your father?"
“I didn’t,” Chu Chen said.
Liu Anran looked at Chu Chen with gentle eyes. Seeing his stern little face, she smiled gently at him. This child must be resenting Chu Yunxiao for not visiting them.
“Yunxiao hasn’t visited them for half a year. Children forget things easily. If it weren’t for Chu Yunxiao’s photo, they would have forgotten that they have a father,” Liu Anran said to Qin Ruixu.
Qin Ruixu nodded knowingly. It was understandable that his child would be indifferent to a father who was always absent.
Qin Yuhan walked into the restaurant behind Yunlong, feeling depressed. When she saw Chu Zhe and Chu Feng, her eyes lit up immediately. What beautiful and adorable children! Her depressed mood dissipated a lot. Her grandson and granddaughter were so cute and lovable!
