Qin Ruixu frowned and looked at Hei Pi. Hei Pi had stopped barking and was now lying on the ground looking at the doorway.
He waved his hand back and forth at his side twice, but didn't touch anything.
"I felt something walk past me just now, but I didn't see anything," Qin Ruixu said, puzzled.
Qin Ruixu's subordinate shuddered and said, "Boss, could there be something fishy going on?"
"I've never seen what a ghost looks like. Zeng Yufan, have you ever seen one?" Qin Ruixu asked.
"No," Zeng Yufan shook her head.
Ghosts are mysterious; he would rather never see one in his entire life.
After a moment's thought, Liu Anran said, "Is there any possibility?"
"What's possible?" Zeng Yufan asked curiously.
Liu Anran shared her opinion.
"It's not some kind of ghost or monster, but a supernatural ability that allows one to become invisible?"
"Possibly!" Qin Ruixu said.
After the apocalypse broke out, all sorts of superpowers awakened, and perhaps there really is a superpower that allows one to become invisible.
"Why would he risk being discovered to enter the room?" Liu Anran asked, puzzled.
Yunlong suddenly said, "Mom, he must have fallen for you?"
Liu Anran said speechlessly, "I'm heavily pregnant. Who would like a woman carrying a child?"
Chu Yunxiao looked at Yunlong with amusement, wondering how this kid could come up with such a thing.
"Perhaps we're being paranoid," Qin Ruixu said.
"Ah! A ghost!" came Bai Lu's panicked scream from next door.
Liu Anran and the others were stunned. Had Bai Lu seen a ghost?
Qin Ruixu looked at the open door of the main room and said coldly, "Close the door and continue resting."
Zeng Yufan closed the door to the main room, and everyone continued to rest.
Because of her pregnancy, Liu Anran felt particularly sleepy and fell asleep shortly after lying down.
"Bang bang..." A rapid knocking sound rang out.
Chu Yunxiao looked at the sleeping Liu Anran, reached out and covered her ears, a hint of displeasure on his face. Who was it that was knocking on the door in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?
Pregnant women are naturally prone to sleepiness, and An Ran has already been woken up once. If she is woken up again, she will not have any energy tomorrow.
"Open the door, Chu Yunxiao! Open the door for me right now!" Bai Lu's voice rang out from outside the courtyard, her tone hurried and flustered.

Darkness obscured the moon's brilliance, and the stars hid away. Suddenly, the wind picked up, the branches swayed, and the cold wind blew in through the gaps in her clothes, seeping into her internal organs and making Bailu shiver involuntarily.
"Tap tap..."
A series of thumping sounds came from the darkness, like the sound of a cane hitting the ground, or like the sound of footsteps.
Bai Lu looked in the direction of the sound but saw nothing. Mustering her courage, she asked, "Who is it? Who is there?"
The pattering stopped, and the wind died down.
Bai Lu's anxiety subsided slightly; as long as no one came over, she wasn't so afraid.
"Tap tap...!"
The "tap tap" sound rang out again.
Suppressing her fear, Bai Lu shouted, "Who's there? Stop playing tricks! This old lady isn't afraid of you!"
"hey-hey……."
A strange laugh echoed in the darkness, the voice hoarse, like the sound of a saw cutting through rotten wood, harsh and unpleasant.
Bai Lu's heart raced, and the fear she had just suppressed surged back into her heart. She took out her flashlight, but it didn't light up at all. Frustrated, she smashed the flashlight on the ground. How could it be out of power?
"Tap tap...!"
"hey-hey……."
Two voices rang out simultaneously, growing louder and sharper, making the desolate little mountain village seem even more mysterious, eerie, and desolate!
Bai Lu's eyes widened in shock, and she almost screamed. She immediately covered her mouth to stop herself from making a sound.
"Tap tap...!"
"hey-hey……."
Two voices rang out, sounding like the voices of messengers from hell.
The sound grew closer and closer, and Bai Lu seemed to see the force of hell walking towards her, about to drag her into hell!
"Woof woof..." Blackie barked wildly at the window.
Qin Ruixu and Chu Yunxiao also heard the sounds coming from outside the courtyard, and their expressions turned serious.
Chu Yunxiao got up, lit the candles, opened the door, walked to the bedside, picked up Yunlong who had been woken up again, and carried him to the main room.
Chu Yunxiao walked into the main room and said to Qin Ruixu, "Uncle, please take care of Yunlong for me."
"Okay!" Qin Ruixu reached out and pulled Yunlong from Chu Yunxiao's arms into his own.
"Yunlong, Dad is going to take care of Mom, your younger brother, and your younger sister. You need to stay with your great-uncle as a good boy," Chu Yunxiao said.
Yunlong rubbed his eyes, yawned lazily, and said sensibly, "Dad, I promise I will be a good boy and listen to you. You must take good care of Mom, my younger brother, and my younger sister."
"Dad will," Chu Yunxiao said with relief.
Liu Anran was awakened by Hei Pi's barking. Feeling annoyed, she sat up and looked at the irritable Hei Pi who kept barking. Helplessly, she said, "Hei Pi, please stop barking."
Blackie barked at the window a few more times, then walked to the bedside, jumped up, and lay down beside the bed, looking at Liu Anran and sobbing softly.
When Chu Yunxiao heard that Liu Anran had woken up, he gave Yunlong a few instructions and then went into the room.
"An Ran, you're awake," Chu Yunxiao said.
"Blackie was woken up by shouting so loudly."
As Liu Anran spoke, she poked Hei Pi's head, and not seeing Yunlong, she quickly asked, "Where's Yunlong?"
Chu Yunxiao replied, "I entrusted Yunlong to my uncle for help in taking care of him."
Hearing Chu Yunxiao's words, Liu Anran felt relieved. She patted Heipi's head, took out a corn cake and stuffed it into its mouth, and instructed, "Go! Go protect Yunlong."
Blackie finished eating the corn cake in his mouth before walking out of the room, looking back every few steps.
Chu Yunxiao walked to the bedside and sat down, putting his arm around Liu Anran's shoulder, saying, "Heipi is worried about you!"
Liu Anran nestled in Chu Yunxiao's arms and said softly, "Yunlong is still young, it's best for Heipi to stay with him. Besides, my Yunxiao is the most capable, I believe you will protect him."
"Hehe..." A sharp, piercing voice drifted from outside the courtyard, startling Liu Anran.
Holy crap! Who's making that wailing sound? Don't they know that scaring people to death can be dangerous?
Liu Anran suddenly thought of the old lady next door; it must be her laughing.
Damn it! What are you laughing about in the middle of the night? What if you scare Yunlong?
Liu Anran got out of bed, walked to the window, and shouted loudly, "Stop laughing! It's awful and scared my son. I'll have my husband beat you up. Go back to sleep and don't come out and scare people in the middle of the night."
Chu Yunxiao watched as Liu Anran displayed her power in anger, his lips moved, but in the end he said nothing, only sighing and rubbing his forehead.
Oh well, ignorance is bliss!
