Chapter 3 Hospital Warehouse
The generals and ministers suddenly rushed out, so fast that only their afterimages could be seen, using their huge bodies to knock a path through. Cutting off their heads would be too time-consuming, but knocking them over would buy some time. It would not be easy for them to stand up again.
Lan Shiruo saw the opportunity and rushed out, blowing up the head of the corpse blocking her way. The distance from the elevator door to the pharmacy door was only a few dozen meters, but it felt like centuries. Thanks to the generals and ministers colliding back and forth, she bought a lot of time, otherwise she would have been drowned by the corpses.
"Thank you for your hard work, General," he briefly praised his friend who was panting with his tongue hanging out, and prepared to break the door violently. The rotten corpses that had just surrounded the elevator began to surround here again, and time was urgent.
The general had already shown his claws, and someone inside the door was shouting, "Don't, don't break the door, or those monsters will come in."
Lan Shiruo frowned. Is there anyone still alive?
There were more than ten of them, and they should be the pharmacists who were preparing and dispensing medicine inside. On the contrary, they were lucky as none of them were fine. On the other hand, they were unlucky as none of them awakened their special abilities.
Forget it, let’s go to the warehouse. “If I were you, I would get out now.”
"No, no, no, if you go out you will die. We have to wait for rescue."
Rescue? Lan Shiruo sneered. It would never happen in this lifetime.
When acid rain hit, the authorities responded with swift action. However, their preparation was woefully inadequate. They had no idea that, beyond the natural disaster, there would be a man-made catastrophe. Acid rain was a natural disaster, but the virus hidden within it was a man-made disaster. The sudden and swift arrival of the virus left no one on the planet unscathed. Highly active, highly transmissible, and destructive, it spread rapidly through the air, striking everyone equally, regardless of wealth or power.
The whole world is in chaos. People are either trying to save themselves or make money. Who will come to rescue them?
Think about it, how many high-level people have fallen and how many low-level people have risen at this time?
Turn around and leave quickly.
The people in the pharmacy opened their mouths to shout, but they were afraid of attracting monsters, so they had to keep quiet.
"Do you think she can escape?"
"Tsk, so what if you escape? Who knows what's happening outside? You're just courting death."
Everyone fell silent and huddled in the corner, shivering. The smell of medicine in the pharmacy covered up the odor on their bodies, temporarily saving their lives.
Lan Shiruo and the general were moving around in the pile of rotting corpses. Their gray sportswear was covered in dirt, and their original color could no longer be seen. The blood-red hair on the general's body was all stuck together, forming hard lumps, which was very uncomfortable.
Lan Shiruo waved her numb arms, cut off the head of an old woman's rotten corpse, and gasped to comfort her, "General, please be patient. We will take a rest when we get to the warehouse." There shouldn't be many people in the warehouse.
"Woo," I got it. With a sudden pounce, its sharp claws pierced into the bald man's rotting head, splitting it in two.
The warehouse was at the other end. As they went on, the number of rotting corpses gradually decreased, but the number following behind them increased.
Seeing a large door at the end of the corridor, Lan Shiruo was overjoyed, "General, hurry up, close the door and we'll be relieved."
"Woo." The general jumped up, grabbed two rotten corpse heads and exploded them, then turned back to urge Lan Shiruo, "Woo woo." Hurry up.
Lan Shiruo chopped the corpse's head from top to bottom, but her arms were too weak to do so. Instead of chopping the head open, the weapon got embedded in the skull and could not be pulled out.
She gritted her teeth and gave up, turning around and running towards the gate. She passed by several rotten zombies. Without weapons, she didn't dare to confront them head-on and could only dodge.
The general quickly turned around to respond, knocking over several corpses, and ran to the other side of the gate with Lan Shiruo.
Lan Shiruo closed the door, and the generals were responsible for cleaning up the few rotten corpses here.
The moment the door closed, a tide of zombies swarmed in. The man and the mastiff quickly evacuated. Without the smell of living people, the tide of zombies gradually subsided and began to wander aimlessly again.
A man and a mastiff collapsed in the corner, panting, looking at each other and laughing silently.
Lan Shiruo rubbed the general's head, her hands were dirty and disgusting. The general bared his teeth. He was a clean Tibetan mastiff.
"Be good, go into the warehouse first, and then clean up slowly."
"Woo woo." Okay. I stood aside and shook myself hard, feeling much better.
Lan Shiruo looked at the snow-white wall that turned colorful in an instant after being swung by the general, and the corners of her mouth twitched slightly. Well, public morality and the like are not important in this world.
"General, let's go."
We work hard and, as expected, there is a fixed time to go to the warehouse to replenish stocks. There are usually not many people there, only a few administrators.
The warehouse is very large, occupying more than half of the ground floor of the entire hospital building, several hundred square meters, and there is also a basement specifically for storing equipment.
Outside the warehouse, the door was locked and it looked like there was no one inside. The acid rain started at midnight this morning, when the warehouse was closed for business, and continued until ten in the morning. The warehouse management was lazy and didn't come, or couldn't come.
The general and the minister showed their sharp claws and directly scratched a hole in the heavy iron door, allowing the man and the mastiff to easily get in.
To be on the safe side, the general and the minister ran around inside to make sure there were no people or rotting corpses.
Turning on the lights, the shelves were filled with medicines, neatly arranged and all labeled by category. Lan Shiruo didn't have time to look at them one by one, so she first destroyed all the surveillance cameras. No matter whether they could be dug out in the future, destroying them would be the most reassuring. Then she put all the goods and shelves into the space, blocked the hole on the door with a few discarded iron frames, and continued to go to the basement.
There was a dedicated passage from the warehouse to the basement, and it was also connected to the underground driveway, making it easier to load and unload goods. All of this was in the administrator's instructions, and Lan Shiruo took a look and memorized it all.
The road leading from the warehouse to the basement is a wide slope about 20 to 30 meters long, which is convenient for pushing carts.
The passage was very empty, and the suppressed breathing sounds of the man and the mastiff could be clearly heard.
Lan Shiruo pulled the general over and asked him to stop. "Did you hear any sound?" she whispered in the general's ear.
The general tilted his head, and his ears instantly stood up, "Woo"
With a low hum, he quickly jumped out.
That's it. Lan Shiruo pursed her lips. Without a weapon in hand, she felt a little less secure. She pressed herself against the wall of the passage, moving down step by step. Perhaps because of the unstable power supply, the lights kept flickering, making her anxious and irritable.
The general and the prime minister have not returned yet, so Lan Shiruo is not too worried, because the general and the prime minister always put her first under any circumstances. Since they choose to leave, it proves that there is no existence here that can threaten her, and it is also within their control.
There was a big door at the end of the passage, and the door was not closed, so the general and the minister rushed through the door.
When Lan Shiruo reached the end, she leaned against the gate and looked inside. There were all kinds of equipment, both new and old. She didn't see any suspicious people or objects. Just then, the general came back and barked twice.
"There are two corpses?"
"Woof." Yes.
"Did you destroy them all?"
"Woof." Yes.
"The general is awesome. Let's go and take a look around."
