Chapter 24: Got Shot

Chapter 24: Got Shot

“So, you never know what exists in the world. You think what you have experienced is the most terrifying, but who knows, what you have not experienced is even more terrifying.” It is not known whether He Lian’s chicken soup is poisonous or not.

"Alright, alright, let's go quickly. I don't want to stay here for even a minute." Yunshui Yao was in pain. She needed a thorough check-up.

This was a sad place, and no one wanted to stay there, so the four people and the mastiff left as quickly as possible.

The abandoned factory is not far away. After running for so long, we should have arrived there.

A ten-minute walk brings you to the factory grounds. From afar, you can see the rusted factory gate and the factory walls and buildings covered in vines. The charred ground doesn't look as desolate as the lush greenery, but rather something else entirely. For example, it feels miserable.

"It's like being struck by lightning."

"If this kind of behavior were to happen before the end of the world, people would definitely say that he was just being struck by lightning because he did too many immoral things."

He Lian smiled and said, "Actually, our boss is a good person. He treats his subordinates very generously, especially the front-line workers. The benefits are very good. He is not a Zhou Paopi."

"Hey, why are you so protective? People always say little honey, little honey, there's always some intimacy. You and your boss are together day and night, so there's no spark?" Yunshui Yao's expression was very obscene.

He Lian shrugged innocently, "Our boss likes men."

"Oh my god, is this still fun? I was once stolen away by a man, and I felt sick for half a year before I recovered. How can women survive in this world?" Yunshui Yao was heartbroken. The world was full of deep malice towards women.

He Lian smiled and comforted, "Shui Yao, don't worry, the world is still a beautiful place. Our boss is a woman."

Yunshui Yao was not appeased.

"Sister, I saw a lot of them piled up in the factory's open space. But they're all rusted. What's the use?"

Lan Shiruo shook her head. She didn't know what the use was, but it was useful after all. "It hasn't been long, and the inside should be intact. He Lian, listen around to see if there is anything unusual."

"good."

This place is very remote. From the scorched trees, it can be seen that no one has set foot here before. "No."

Lan Shiruo nodded, still not letting down her guard. "Everyone should be careful. Some creatures don't make any noise, like snakes. Be careful where you step."

"Know."

The general used one claw to open the big iron gate and walked in first. Its sense of smell could effectively avoid many creatures.

The big iron gate creaked harshly, and when it opened, many dark-loving creatures jumped around inside. In panic, they fled in all directions, scaring the four people and the mastiff.

After they finished jumping around, the general took the lead and walked inside. The cement ground was covered with all kinds of dead branches and leaves, forming a thick layer. The trees were scorched by the acid rain. It hadn't rained for more than a month, but the ground was wet and sticky. Water would come out when you stepped on it, and the air was filled with a rotten smell.

"Is there groundwater here?" Yunshui Yao asked.

He Lian shook her head. "That shouldn't be the case. We dug a well to make water more convenient, but the well digger said this place wouldn't work. We tried several other places, but there was no water."

"That's strange. It flows down from the mountain? Is there a tributary passing by on the mountain?" Miaomiao asked.

"No, the water used here was diverted from the new factory area. The lack of access to water was one of the reasons for abandoning this place."

"There must be something wrong when things are out of the ordinary. Be careful." Lan Shiruo used a big knife to clear away the dead branches and leaves on the road before she dared to step forward and led her men towards the container.

The container was covered with vines that had been scorched by acid rain. The branches were very thick and I didn't know what kind they were. They were charred black and looked like pythons.

"Sister, are you going to put it away like this, or should we clean it up first?"

"Just collect it," she didn't know if there were any uninvited guests living inside. The space was her territory, so she didn't have to worry about any uninvited guests causing trouble.

A few people made way for Lan Shiruo to collect it.

Lan Shiruo walked around and made sure there was nothing tied up before she stretched out her hands and covered the container.

As soon as the thought came to his mind, the vine door wrapped around the container began to twist wildly, and countless branches grew out in an instant, rushing towards the four people and the mastiff.

"Oh my god, what is this?" The nine-section whip that Yun Shuiyao threw out was directly entangled. She tried her best to grab it, but it was completely useless. It was easily snatched away. She didn't know where it was rolled to and disappeared without a trace.

Miaomiao threw the iron ball down, but it was like hitting a spring, without any effect. In two or three strokes, both iron balls were taken away. "Ah, my iron ball!"

He Lian was even more miserable. He was caught in the trap along with the knife, and was so entangled that he rolled his eyes.

Lan Shiruo reacted quickly and dodged the first attack. She swung her knife to cut off the attacking vines and ran towards He Lian. She swung the knife again. The vines wrapped around He Lian seemed to be in pain and twisted wildly, abandoning her.

The general was very fast, and the vines chased him relentlessly but couldn't touch a single hair. His claws were sharp, and he cut many vines along the way, and rescued Yunshui Yao and Miaomiao in the process.

"You go out first." Lan Shiruo shouted.

The three knew they were a burden, so they didn't dare to stay any longer and ran out.

Who would have thought that this guy was too nosy and had branches at the door. He threw the three people back in minutes and hit them on the container with a loud bang. He had no power to stop them at all. The three people felt as if their internal organs were displaced.

Lan Shiruo quickly threw a knife to each person, "Cut, cut anyone who comes close, stand with your backs to each other and form a circle."

The three men ignored the pain and swung their knives wildly.

Lan Shiruo did not dare to be careless. She shuttled through the vines, swinging her knife, not daring to stop for a moment. Not only her hands were shaking, but her legs were shaking as well.

The generals and ministers were causing damage everywhere, but it seemed to have no effect except to make it hurt. Two vines would quickly grow from the cut areas and become more and more crazy.

Every wound can make it grow new branches exponentially. Lan Shiruo spit out a foul breath, thinking that she had dug a hole in her own heart. "Can't cut it down. The more you cut, the more it grows. Can you run away? I'm going to set it on fire."

The three of them also discovered this deceptive phenomenon, "It can run."

"Okay, I'll have the generals and ministers pick you up, come down quickly."

The generals and ministers heard the call and rushed upwards to buy time for the three men.

The three of them climbed down the vine one by one. The branches of the vine were flexible, but its thick trunk was clumsy, making it easier for the three to escape.

After getting down to the ground, try to hide as much as possible, and only swing your sword when you can't dodge. Lan Shiruo has already taken out the rocket, "Run quickly, General, come down."

"Woof woof"

The moment the generals and ministers dashed down, Lan Shiruo unleashed her crossbow, piercing the thick trunk of the vine. Ten arrows followed, one after another. The pain drove the vine mad, causing it to thrash. Miaomiao and the other two hadn't gotten far, remaining within the attack range. They were inevitably caught in the crossbow's clutches, howling with each blow. They had never been beaten like this before.

Lan Shiruo was naturally no exception and could only offer her back while running desperately. "Don't scream, if you call more unknown creatures, we will die. Run quickly."

The three of them were beaten so hard that their eyes were filled with tears. They ran around staggeringly, gritting their teeth, feeling extremely aggrieved.
