Shen Guoliang ate lunch at home and then went to the bank to withdraw money, which he then gave to Shen Muling that evening. This time, Shen Yu didn't dare to say much, after all, she had hit him that morning, and the pain was still lingering.
"Mu Ning, I'm entrusting your family's money to you, along with the child support subsidy paperwork. Keep it safe and transfer the records to your hometown as soon as possible. Mu Ning, no matter what, I'm still your second uncle. If you need anything, just write to me. If you can come back, come back to your second uncle."
Shen Guoliang tentatively asked Shen Mu Ning to check if she actually had a deed to the courtyard house. He had initially thought Shen Mu Ning was naive and wouldn't know where their deed was kept, but her behavior these past two days hadn't been as easily fooled as before. He was just in case she did have a deed to the courtyard house, in which case he wouldn't be able to take possession of it.
Shen Mu Ning knew exactly what Shen Guo Liang was planning, and she couldn't possibly let him know she had a property deed. "Second Uncle, we don't need to be so formal. I won't be coming back here." Even if she did return, they wouldn't live here anymore.
Shen Mu Ning returned to the woodshed, barricaded the door, and entered her spatial dimension. She had gone out again this afternoon to buy several meals, so she could eat to her heart's content. After eating, she needed to tidy up the land; she had forgotten to buy farming tools yesterday and hadn't planted the seeds. She had only bought a hoe, sickle, and gloves this afternoon, so now she had to get to work on the land.
Shen Mu Ning observed that the soil was fine, nutrient-rich black earth, so she didn't even need to dig it all up before sowing wheat seeds on one acre of land. For corn, she dug rows of holes, placing two seeds in each hole. All kinds of vegetables were sown in the ground first, to be transplanted later once they sprouted.
As for rice, seedlings need to be cultivated first, and a paddy field needs to be reclaimed. This is the biggest project in space farming. She also wants to plant more fruit trees, and after understanding the growth cycle of crops grown in the space, she also wants to bring back some chickens and ducks to raise.
The next morning, after washing up and having breakfast in her spatial dimension, Shen Mu Ning went out. She still wanted to study in the countryside, but the original owner had only finished junior high school, and she didn't have high school textbooks, so she had to go to the bookstore to buy them. She also had to get a set of the famous math, physics, and chemistry series.
As for buying textbooks from a recycling center, that's unrealistic. Textbooks and review books can be left for younger siblings, or at the very least, used as kindling. Recycling centers usually only have newspapers and confiscated books. She's very interested in these kinds of books; she can look at them after buying the textbooks.
Shen Mu Ning still dressed as a boy to avoid being recognized by those familiar with the original owner of the body.
Shen Mu Ning bought all her high school textbooks at a bookstore and even begged the owner to find some unsold math, physics, and chemistry books from the warehouse. Now that she couldn't take the college entrance exam, these review books were going unsold. Shen Mu Ning simply bought the remaining three sets of books, and the owner was able to clear out those dozens of books at a low price to make room in the warehouse.
Shen Mu Ning left the bookstore in a great mood: these books haven't been worth much these past few years, but once the college entrance exam is reinstated, she can sell them for ten times the price. After putting away the books, Shen Mu Ning headed straight for the recycling station.
The old man guarding the scrap yard didn't react when Shen Mu Ning entered, so she had to go up to him and say, "Grandpa, I want to find some scrap newspapers to paste on the walls."
After hearing this, the old man rolled his eyes and said, "Go ahead, but don't bring anything you shouldn't." Shen Mu Ning agreed and went inside.
Shen Mu Ning stepped inside and gasped. There was just too much stuff. A huge pile of old, broken furniture, a layer of broken porcelain shards on the floor, and a stack of scraps of newspaper.
While searching for newer newspapers, Shen Mu Ning scanned the pile of dilapidated furniture with her spiritual power. She noticed a table leg on the surface containing several gold bars. There were also some broken pieces of furniture, seemingly made of better quality wood, but unfortunately, she didn't recognize those precious woods, and they were all piled up inside, making them difficult to retrieve. She had no choice but to give up.
However, while searching through a pile of newspapers, she found a cookbook, a herbal medicine book, and a prescription book. Unfortunately, she couldn't take these things openly, so she had to leave them in her spatial dimension and take them away quietly.
Shen Mu Ning carried the newspapers she bought from the recycling station home. She used to read period novels where authors often wrote about using newspapers to cover the walls, otherwise the mud on the walls would fall off. She didn't know if it was true, but she bought some newspapers just in case.
