Chapter 7 Learning Spells
When Lin Xiaoman arrived, there were already several people sitting in the classroom, of varying ages. The older ones looked about sixteen or seventeen years old, while the younger ones looked about the same age as her.
Everyone was sitting at desks, just like when she was in school in her previous life, with the teacher in the front row.
The gentleman was an old man who looked to be about fifty or sixty years old. He glanced at Lin Xiaoman, nodded, and gestured for her to find an empty seat and sit down.
"Alright, we have new students arriving today. First, review what we taught you yesterday. New students, please pay attention."
At her husband's suggestion, Lin Xiaoman sat at the table on the right, where there were two other children who looked about the same age as her.
She didn't care about anything else at this moment. When the other person looked at her and smiled, she also smiled and greeted him.
"My name is Mo Youdao, you can just call me Mr. Mo from now on."
Mr. Mo was very patient when teaching. Even though the two children with Lin Xiaoman didn't understand, he patiently repeated it over and over again.
In this class, Mr. Mo taught them the art of spiritual rain.
After listening to it twice, Lin Xiaoman began to follow the instructions and route. After a few attempts, she finally found the feeling. The spiritual energy in her body flowed along her veins to her fingers. Then she felt a slight fluctuation in the surrounding spiritual energy. The next moment, her eyes flashed, and a drop of water appeared on her finger?!
"Huh?"
Mo Youdao sensed the fluctuation and looked over in surprise. Seeing the trace on Lin Xiaoman's desk, he hurried over.
"Well, that's good. Practice diligently. Once you can use the Spirit Rain Technique to water the soil freely, you can start learning the Soil Turning Technique."
Lin Xiaoman narrowed his eyes and smiled, nodding quickly, "Yes."
As long as she learns these two spells, she can start farming right away.
Although she had roughly learned the Spirit Rain Technique, Lin Xiaoman did not leave the classroom, but continued to practice. When the spiritual power in her body was exhausted, she sat there alone and silently adjusted to restore her spiritual power. After recovery, she practiced again.
An hour later, Lin Xiaoman was already able to use the Spirit Rain Technique to produce a small handful of water.
After leaving the classroom, it was still early, so she went to find Lu Youling first to see if he had succeeded.
"Lu Youling."
When she arrived at the gate of the yard, she saw Lu Youling sitting on a small stool at the gate eating a steamed bun. She curled her lips and shouted out quickly.
"Lin Xiaoman, why are you here?"
When Lu Youling saw Lin Xiaoman, his eyes lit up, he said "Hey", jumped up and ran to the door.
"I went to the market yesterday to look for a job. Ah, apprentice, I want to remind you to enter the body as soon as possible. There are not many apprentice spots in the market. The sooner you find one, the sooner you will succeed."
"Yeah, I see. Did you succeed? Where did you become an apprentice?"
Lu Youling nodded repeatedly, tore off half of the steamed bun and handed it to Lin Xiaoman. She didn't hesitate, as she was really hungry now.
"I originally wanted to try my luck at the medicine shop, but unfortunately there were no vacancies. I'm now an apprentice at the talisman shop. When I come back this afternoon, I'll cook and bring it to you."
"Wow, you entered the talisman shop, awesome!"
Lu Youling laughed in surprise, gave her a thumbs-up, and then shook her head, "No, no, there are so many people in the yard. Please buy me two steamed buns."
As he said this, he was about to take out the spirit pearl and give it to Lin Xiaoman, but Lin Xiaoman waved her hand, shook her head, turned around and ran away.
"I understand. I'll give it to you when I get back."
Looking at Lin Xiaoman's figure gradually going away, Lu Youling was filled with envy. He also wanted to go to the market, but unfortunately he failed to draw the qi into his body, so they could not go out.
It was still early when Lin Xiaoman arrived at the market. She was very hungry, so she bought a steamed bun and ate it before going to the talisman shop.
"Brother Wang, good morning."
After entering the shop, Lin Xiaoman smiled and bowed to Wang Qiang.
"Fellow Daoist Lin, good morning. We are both cultivators in the Qi Refining Stage, so we can just be Daoists."
Then he took Lin Xiaoman to the backyard and said, "There are three apprentices in the shop now. You are all learning from Senior Yuan. For specific matters, just follow Senior Yuan's instructions."
"good."
Not long after, she was brought to a room where a man who looked to be in his thirties or forties was sitting at a table with his eyes closed.
"Senior Yuan, this is Lin Xiaoman, the new apprentice assigned to you."
Senior Yuan opened his eyes and looked at Lin Xiaoman. Seeing that it was actually a little girl, he couldn't help but frown. "So small."
Wang Qiang laughed dryly and wanted to explain, but saw Senior Yuan waving his hand.
"Okay, get out."
"yes."
Wang Qiang breathed a sigh of relief, bowed quickly and left, winking at Lin Xiaoman before leaving.
Lin Xiaoman thought to himself, could this senior be someone who is difficult to talk to?
"Lin Xiaoman greets the senior."
"Well, go wait at the door."
Lin Xiaoman was stunned for a moment, then quickly saluted and replied, "Yes."
After waiting at the door for about a quarter of an hour, I saw a woman in her twenties, followed by a man who looked about fourteen or fifteen years old. When they saw her, they didn't say much and went into the house first.
After a while, the two men came out, and the woman looked at Lin Xiaoman and said with a smile.
"You must be Lin Xiaoman, right? My name is Li Ling, and this is Tang Chengchao. We are both apprentices of Senior Yuan. Senior has arranged for you to learn how to make ink and talisman paper from Junior Brother Tang first."
Lin Xiaoman quickly saluted them and said, "Greetings, Senior Sister Li and Senior Brother Tang."
This address made both Li Ling and Tang Chengchao smile. They looked at each other and smiled. Tang Chengchao happily left first, "Now I am also a senior brother, Junior Sister Lin, come with me, I will teach you how to make ink first."
Lin Xiaoman looked at Li Ling, and Li Ling smiled and nodded. "Go."
"yes."
Lin Xiaoman bowed to her, turned around and followed her.
She is an intern, and the master she follows is not of high rank. But even so, she dare not act rashly. The most taboo in the workplace is to be ignorant of one's own limitations!
Fortunately, this master had a good personality, but he was a bit talkative. Lin Xiaoman spent the whole morning learning how to make ink and talisman paper from him, and the time passed very quickly.
While madly absorbing knowledge, he felt particularly fulfilled, and it also dispelled Lin Xiaoman's disappointment that he did not learn the skill of drawing talismans.
At noon, Lin Xiaoman went to eat with Tang Chengchao. When he saw the dishes, he was overjoyed. This job was so good, it was worthy of being a "big factory"!
He could actually eat meat and non-vegetarian dishes. Apparently, the meals in the "big factory" were all spiritual food, food with spiritual energy, and the taste was so good. Lin Xiaoman ate his fill.
There was no lunch break. Less than a quarter of an hour after lunch, she started working again, continuing to make ink and talisman paper. She was a typical female child worker on the assembly line.
Despite this, Lin Xiaoman enjoyed her job very much. She got paid for every day's work, and she could also have a full meal at noon with meat, vegetables and rice. If she was not prohibited from taking out, she would have wanted to take some home for dinner.
As soon as the afternoon came, Lin Xiaoman was notified to "get off work". She "got off work" on time, which was not "big factory" at all, but she liked it hahahaha.
