Chapter 12 Domestic and International Grains and Vegetables

After Li Yao returned to the villa, it was already afternoon. She was quite hungry after a busy day. She took out the food she had just picked up: a plate of steamed tofu with crab and pepper fish balls and pan-fried special black pork, a plate of colorful vegetable, shrimp and minced pork rice, a mango cheesecake, and a glass of orange juice.

The tofu was smooth and fragrant, the minced meat rice was amazing, the black pork was tender and juicy, the mango cheese was just the right amount of sweetness and not too sweet, and the last glass of orange juice was enough to finish it off. Li Yao ate to her heart's content. Her appetite was obviously much larger than before, but because of the spiritual spring water, Li Yao would not gain weight. She could eat a lot without getting fat, which made many people jealous.

After finishing her meal, Li Yao went to the office building and found that Da Zhuang was still busy changing the hard drive, so she took her tablet and planned to look at vegetables and such.

Because Li Yao doesn't cook often, she only has a vague understanding of many types of vegetables. However, when searching for the city's largest vegetable market, she saw someone say that you should go to buy vegetables in the early morning and pre-order them, so Li Yao thought she would take a look first.

Li Yao picked up her tablet and subconsciously searched for vegetable markets in the Flag Country. For some reason, searching for the Flag Country was very easy for her.

However, Li Yao discovered that there were very few farmers' markets in Chinatown in the Flag Country. Since the fruits and some vegetables in the Flag Country were monopolized by the United Fruit Company, the prices in New York and the Texas countryside were about the same, so there were very few markets to sell them.

Farmers in the United States are only responsible for planting, raising, and harvesting; they are not responsible for selling. Vegetables, fruits, meat, and grains are very cheap in the US, and supermarkets offer quality assurance, so they are only available in supermarkets.

Li Yao then searched for United Fruit Company and found that the company's business was to sell vegetables and fruits (mainly bananas and pineapples) produced in plantations in third-world countries to Western countries.

Li Yao went directly to their finished product storage warehouse, which had a preservation system. It was mainly for vegetables that would be put on the shelves of major supermarkets the next day, and Li Yao directly received them by warehouse.

This includes romaine lettuce, butter lettuce, lettuce, organic arugula, bib lettuce, red celery, broccoli, celery, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, organic baby spinach, organic mixed baby kale, organic spring mixed vegetable packs, organic butter lettuce, organic cucumbers, fennel, artichokes, beets, cassava, turmeric root, taro root, small red potatoes, white sweet potatoes, long beans, green peppers, peas, snow peas, white mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, cilantro, mint, purple sweet potatoes, garlic, asparagus, pumpkin, Brussels sprouts, lemongrass, okra, bell peppers, and more.

Li Yao took one last look at the system panel. This warehouse had about 2,000 kilograms of each type of vegetable.

Li Yao also bought a warehouse full of bananas and pineapples, with the storage space showing 1 ton of each. For some reason, Li Yao felt that buying these vegetables without purchasing them from Longguo was like not having them at all; she always felt something was missing.

So Li Yao asked Dazhuang to call the management office of the city's largest vegetable market and ask them to help order vegetables from the vendors, 5,000 kilograms of each kind, to be delivered to the office building the next day.

The person at the management office who answered the phone immediately began reciting the menu: fresh bean curd sheets, fresh tofu, soft tofu, firm tofu, dried bean curd sticks, vegetarian chicken, tofu puffs, gluten, cucumber, baby cucumber, small red chili peppers, green bean sprouts, soybean sprouts, cilantro, lettuce, scallions, green onions, garlic sprouts, Shanghai bok choy, sweet corn, green bell peppers, red bell peppers, yellow bell peppers, Chinese cabbage, cilantro, baby bok choy, spiral chili peppers, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, large potatoes, red-skinned potatoes, chestnut sweet potatoes, lotus root, pumpkin, baby squash, stringless green beans, baby bok choy, spinach, cabbage, round lettuce, enoki mushrooms, white jade mushrooms, winter melon, romaine lettuce, water spinach, bok choy, long rapeseed, small cilantro... Celery, cauliflower, garland chrysanthemum, sweet potato leaves, bitter chrysanthemum, bitter lettuce, pea shoots, houttuynia cordata, edamame, eggplant, chayote, red radish, rainbow radish, loofah, bitter melon, okra, zucchini, taro, water bamboo shoots, carrot, winter bamboo shoots, arrow bamboo shoots, leeks, garlic sprouts, white radish, yam, water radish, dried white fungus, wood ear fungus, fresh cordyceps flowers, seafood mushroom, crab mushroom, oyster mushroom, red chili pepper, green bell pepper, Hangzhou chili pepper, long chili pepper, sand onion, Sichuan peppercorn, garlic, white onion, red onion.

After hearing this, Li Yao only said that she didn't want the houttuynia cordata, but wanted everything else, 5,000 kilograms of each, and that the vegetables had to be fresh. She would give the delivery person extra for the shipping. The other party said that they would start delivering from 6 a.m. the next day. Li Yao asked Da Zhuang to get the other party's contact information and said that she would give him 10,000 yuan as a service fee after the goods arrived tomorrow. The other party repeatedly assured her that he would definitely do a good job.

For the meat, Li Yao had the system search for the best quality cattle and sheep ranches in Inner Mongolia. Da Zhuang communicated with them and ordered 5,000 cattle and 5,000 sheep. The animals would be slaughtered and vacuum-packed according to their parts in half a month. Li Yao asked for the address and would go there to pick up the goods.

For pork, Li Yao directly ordered 1,000 pigs each of the following breeds: Taihu pigs from J province, Rongchang pigs from C province, Northwest Bamei pigs, Northeast Min pigs, Luchuan pigs, Ningxiang spotted pigs, Bama fragrant pigs, Wujin pigs, and Tibetan fragrant pigs. She even had to order the Tibetan fragrant pigs from several different vendors, as they were in high demand, and Li Yao had to pay a premium. The farmers were responsible for arranging for the pigs to be slaughtered and packaged, and Li Yao planned to pick them up in two weeks.

Foreign breeds, like the Hungarian hog, which looks like a pig covered in sheepskin, are made of a lot of fat and little lean meat, making them the best choice for ham and roasting. Li Yao teleported directly to the breeding site and purchased a total of 65 pigs for free.

The Iberian black pigs of the Bullfighting Kingdom have an acorn-scented pork flavor, making them the best raw material for Bullfighting Kingdom ham. Li Yao teleported there and collected 200 pigs, as well as 5,000 top-grade hams with black labels, returning with a full load.

For the chicken, Li Yao had Da Zhuang search for the best-tasting chicken in the world, and they chose the Dwarf Chicken, which originated in Japan and Southeast Asia. It is the cutest and smallest type of ornamental and pet chicken. The meat is extremely delicious.

The Bresse chicken (Poulet de Bresse) is a breed of chicken originating from the Bresse region in eastern France. This chicken has a bright red comb, snow-white feathers, and steel-blue feet, and is considered the national chicken of France. Its meat is suitable for making soup, but it is relatively tough.
