Chapter 140 Mutant Rabbit

Li Dazhu and his group were delighted to see the lush vegetation of Changbai Mountain. They quickly found a spot with plenty of wild grass and fruit.

After checking that there was no animal droppings or footprints around, Li Dazhu had everyone start picking wild vegetables and fruits. There were also some herbs like Acanthopanax senticosus, which looked edible.

Wang Gang was one of the eleven young men. Just as he was picking rabbits with great enthusiasm, he discovered a rabbit hole. The thought of roasting or stewing rabbits made his mouth water. He patted his cousin Wang Ermao next to him, signaling him to block the other side of the rabbit hole.

Wang Ermao was also craving rabbit meat, so he eagerly went over. Wang Gang picked up some wet twigs, lit them, and put them into the rabbit hole as soon as they started to smoke.

Soon after, a commotion was heard, and several rabbits came running out.

Wang Gang excitedly stepped forward to catch the rabbit, but a rabbit jumped up and shot him a water arrow.

Upon seeing this, Wang Gang's legs went weak, narrowly avoiding the water arrow, and he scrambled and crawled outside.

Wang Ermao wasn't so lucky. As he tried to catch a rabbit, a rabbit with wind-type abilities slashed his arm with a wind blade. He clutched his arm and fled into the crowd.

When everyone saw the two men, one running away in a panic and the other clutching his arm and howling in pain, they all ran away as well.

Li Dazhu was stunned when he saw the rabbit shoot water arrows.

He found it absurd, but the facts were right in front of him, followed by despair. If rabbits could shoot water arrows, would plants eat people in the future? Would they still have a way to survive?

Li Dazhu felt a cold sweat break out all over his body. He saw that the rabbit didn't run away, but instead jumped and continued to attack Wang Gang. Instinctively, he picked up his gun and fired a shot into the rabbit's eye.

The level 2 rabbit dodged the attack and then turned to attack Li Dazhu with water arrows. Li Dazhu regained his senses and hid behind a tree, constantly dodging. Gradually, he noticed that the rabbit's water arrows were becoming less and less powerful.

Li Dazhu's eyes lit up; he knew his chance had come. He quickly told the others, "This rabbit is almost exhausted! Everyone, get together and smother it with the basket!"

Everyone scattered and fled, while also drawing the rabbits' hatred to help Li Dazhu. Hearing him say this, they didn't care whether it was true or not. One of the young men grabbed the basket and went around to ambush them.

The rabbit was getting impatient. It was just staying at home peacefully, what had it done to provoke such a disturbance? It just wanted to teach the two-legged creature in front of it a lesson.

The young man who launched the sneak attack took advantage of the moment when the rabbit had just finished firing its water arrow and was catching its breath. He quickly covered the rabbit with a basket, and then several other people rushed over and piled baskets on top of each other, three or four layers in total. All you could hear was the rabbit banging against the baskets with a loud "Duang Duang Duang".

So they put a big rock on top of the basket.

After a long while of silence, Li Dazhu wanted to go and check, but everyone stopped him. Just then, Wang Gang slapped his forehead and said, "Oh no, the rabbit can dig a burrow!"

It took everyone a moment to realize what was happening. They hurriedly removed the stone, moved the basket aside, and sure enough, they saw a large hole. The rabbit had already run away.

Li Dazhu and the others were also disappointed, but they were also a little scared. Wang Ermao's injuries clearly showed everyone that if rabbits could hurt people, then what about other things?

No one said anything, they just stood closer together and stopped running around and touching things. They used small twigs to tap and knock, and when they saw a mushroom, they would tap and poke around it first to make sure there was no movement before picking it.

However, Changbai Mountain is indeed rich in resources. Everyone picked several large baskets of wild vegetables and mushrooms, and also collected a lot of firewood. The carpenter in the group made a simple handcart, and everyone put their things on it and pulled it back together.

As Li Dazhu looked at today's harvest, he thought about telling the village chief what had happened and asking everyone to come up with a solution. It seemed that life would only get harder from now on.
