Chapter 234 Preparations Before Going to the Palace

Seeing the terrified looks on the Zhao family's faces, Li Yao thought to herself, "This is nothing compared to what's to come."

That little girl is only 12 years old. Even if she's not their biological child, she's lived with them for twelve years. Even a dog should be pitied for being a life.

These people, however, treated her like animals.

She never did anything wrong; on the contrary, she always suffered for the girls of this family.

In ancient villages, besides farming, there wasn't much work to do. This poor little girl did almost everything herself, while the other children either ate or played.

She was originally a princess born into a wealthy and privileged family, but her life was cruelly altered, and she received no warmth whatsoever.

From the moment she was born until her death, the Zhao family schemed against her, squeezing every last drop of blood from her. They didn't even spare her children.

This family, from the oldest to the youngest, is not human; they are all beasts in human skin.

Li Yao watched as these men lay on the ground groaning. She used her consciousness to dilute a cup of spiritual spring water in the [Spiritual Spring Space] at a ratio of ten to one. Then, she controlled the diluted spiritual spring water droplets to silently fly towards the genital wounds of the six men.

Soon their wounds began to heal and stopped bleeding.

Li Yao didn't want them to die so easily; they wanted to live and go to the Da Gan Dynasty's prison to experience their punishments firsthand.

Li Yao learned from the extensive records that there was a form of torture here called the iron comb.

They used a specially made comb-like instrument to comb their skin and flesh; it was practically a human skin-scraping machine.

Next, Li Yao hypnotized them, making them temporarily unable to say anything about her. They were told to forget what they were saying, and that if they wanted to complain, they would have to take off their clothes.

Then she removed her mental shield and headed into the mountains.

Finding a secluded spot and hiding behind a large, sturdy tree, Li Yao slipped into the [Spiritual Spring Space].

Inside the space, Li Yao ate a bowl of millet porridge and a few vegetarian steamed buns.

Millet porridge is good for the stomach. This body was so hungry that it was practically skin and bones. At five years old, it didn't even weigh as much as a normal three-year-old. She looked at her protruding ribs, sighed, and drank some spiritual spring water.

Next, she changed into an invisibility cloak and prepared to take a tour of the palace to check out the terrain.

However, Li Yao suddenly remembered that this was an alternate ancient world, so she asked the system, "Are there martial arts here? Like the kind where you can fly over rooftops and use internal energy?"

The system replied: "Some hosts exist."

Li Yao said irritably, "Why didn't you say so earlier? I haven't been exercising at all. Wouldn't I have been discovered immediately if I went?"

The system replied: [Host, these are questions that the system can only answer if you ask them. During the mission, the system cannot proactively inform you of any information about the mission world. The main system is set to a passive trigger mechanism. π_π]

Li Yao asked, "Okay, do you want to switch to a cat body and come out to play?"

The system replied, "Not for now. We'll talk about it after the host regains their identity."

Li Yao said, "Okay, let's set the location. Tell me, you only provided a map? Are ancient maps even usable?"

The system replied: "[Host, in ancient times, only maps existed π_π]"

Li Yao smiled wickedly and said, "What use are you to me? Don't make me slap you."

The system shuddered and said, "[Host, try to read fewer novels about domineering hosts and their adorable little masters. They're too greasy →_→]"

Li Yao [...]

And so, while bickering with the system, Li Yao put on the invisibility cloak. She decided that if she was discovered, she could simply use [Spatial Control] to freeze people in place.

After changing her clothes, Li Yao's invisibility cloak automatically adjusted its size, and she opened the [Teleportation Portal].
