It takes less than 3 minutes to walk from my home downstairs to the south gate. Right outside the gate is a four-lane road. Across the road is a large open space with no farmland. It should be construction land, but there is no construction or fencing.
500 meters further east is the main road of the county town, and another 500 meters east is the national highway, the main road connecting the city and the county. The road extends further east to a ring road that bypasses the villages. 500 meters west of the south gate is another intersection, and another 500 meters west is a newly built large park running from south to north, almost a third the size of the main county town. Further west along the road are the Ring River Road and a Yellow River Bridge.
Li Yao drove to check out the Yellow River. The current wasn't strong, and it was about 3 kilometers in a straight line from the south gate of her residential area. The riverbank was about 15 meters below the waterline, and the water volume was low. If the river rose, Li Yao could teleport to the desert instantly. However, Li Yao estimated that the river wouldn't rise too drastically because there were no dams upstream or downstream to hold back the water. Given the current level of river management along the Yellow River, flash floods were unlikely, as the area consisted entirely of rocky mountains.
Li Yao drove around the entire county town. There was a large supermarket in the center of the town, and a medium-sized supermarket about 800 meters away, just two intersections apart. There were many shops on the streets, one every 50 meters, as well as restaurants and noodle shops. The schools were all in the new district in the north of the county town. This should be a newly planned area. The campus area was very large. Judging from the names, there were three middle schools and primary schools that were almost evenly distributed from north to south. There were three primary schools and four kindergartens.
There aren't many tall buildings in the county town; most are only 5 or 6 stories high. At the northernmost part of the county town is a large lake and a park, and then there are no roads; you have to turn east onto the national highway.
In the county town, Li Yao didn't drive her luxury car, but a Volkswagen SUV that she took out from her spatial storage. There were quite a few cars on the streets. The entire county town was basically a rectangular area built along the national highway, with small squares of about 500-1000 meters evenly divided inside, making transportation very convenient.
Y City is also a typical northern city. As the capital of N Province, it is filled with high-rise buildings. However, compared to first-tier cities, it is not as congested. The roads here are wide, with eight lanes, and there are many large supermarkets and shopping malls.
Stockpiling has become an instinctive reaction for Li Yao; she wants to go into any supermarket she sees and buy something, but she doesn't plan to buy anything here.
Li Yao remembered reading novels where people hoarded supplies near their homes during the apocalypse. They were waiting to be robbed of their goods. Even if they didn't manage to find that many, the merchants would remember them, and the secret would no longer be a secret. Never underestimate people's desires and moral bottom line when they are fighting for survival. If it were me, and I knew that someone had hoarded tons of food not long ago, I would risk my life to find that person and kill him.
Thinking of this, Li Yao called upon the system: "[6834, create a fake identity for me in the national household registration system. I have no parents, I am an orphan, I have a bachelor's degree, and my name is also Li Yao. Set a trigger mode so that this identity will only appear when the ID number of this information is entered.]"
"Okay, host," the system replied.
Li Yao wanted to have a backup plan. Her original information indicated that she was a wealthy woman. Although she used virtual information when stockpiling goods, who knew what might happen in the apocalypse? It would be good to have a backup identity. The country keeps records of household registration information, and even without the internet, it can be accessed directly with a computer or mobile phone. Given the current situation, if identity screening were to be carried out in the apocalypse, Li Yao would be prepared.
Looking at all the noodle shops on the street, Li Yao was a little curious about the local noodles. Since it was already noon, she chose a noodle shop that seemed to be crowded. After parking her car, Li Yao went inside and ordered a plate of stir-fried knife-cut noodles.
