Chapter 75 Exploring the Forest

Li Yao diligently slept, ate, watched movies, and occasionally played single-player games every day. In addition to her regular two hours of exercise, she would also spend some time playing with zombies to upgrade her superpowers.

As the days went by, Li Yao would inquire about the upgrade status of the zombies at the bottom of the valley every day, and harvest them directly whenever there was a level 12 zombie.

Half a month has passed, and Li Yao has collected a total of 28,000 level 12 crystal cores, 320,000 level 11 crystal cores, 960,000 level 10 crystal cores, 3 million level 9 crystal cores, and 7 million level 8 crystal cores.

A total of skill points were gained.

Currently, Li Yao is harvesting some of the high-level zombies and waiting to upgrade others. Therefore, there are basically more than 2 million level 1 zombies, more than 10 million level 2 zombies, more than 20 million level 3 zombies, more than 11 million level 4 zombies, 10.1 million level 5 zombies, more than 7 million level 6 zombies, and 8.6 million level 7 zombies.

Many level 1 and 2 zombies have been devoured by higher-level zombies, but generally speaking, you can just harvest the higher-level zombies and wait for the mid-level zombies to level up.

It's just a matter of time.

One day, Li Yao suddenly wanted to go forest exploration. The images the robot had sent back showed no dangerous species, but Li Yao guessed that this was because the robot was an inanimate object and did not cause any fluctuations in the mutated plants. The unknown was both frightening and exciting.

This time, Li Yao wore stab-proof and bulletproof thermostatic protective gear, and shared the local area network with Da Zhuang and the others. All her guns were fully loaded and could be taken out and used immediately if needed. She also brought an oxygen gas mask, optical thermal imaging glasses, and a very lightweight infrared imager that looked like normal glasses.

Dressed in their protective gear, Li Yao and the robots set off into the forest. The black robot dog scouted ahead, its land scanning imaging system drawing a three-dimensional map of the entire terrain and sending it to the computer on Li Yao's protective suit arm.

As you enter the forest, you see many redwood trees. These trees are tall and thick, like pillars, with no extra branches. Many of them are so thick that it would take seven or eight people to encircle them.

Below the trees were some shrubs of varying heights. Li Yao walked forward, tapping the ground against the trees with her hiking stick.

Suddenly she heard a rustling sound.

Li Yao immediately gestured for everyone to stop and be quiet. She used her mental power to scan the surroundings carefully and finally found a python a dozen meters behind her.

Li Yao used a mental strangulation technique to pierce the python's vital spot, rendering it completely dead.

Continuing forward, Li Yao discovered a large patch of dandelions, which were unusually dense.

Li Yao didn't approach rashly. She took out a large rooster from the [Infinite Space] and threw it into the dandelion bushes. Instantly, the dandelions all burst open, and the seeds flew towards the rooster, piercing its flesh and blood and starting to suck its blood. Before long, the rooster became a dried-up corpse.

The dandelion seeds then took root and sprouted from the rooster's body, continuing to grow.

The scene was rather frightening; she figured she would never think of blowing dandelions again.

However, the dandelion's attack range has a limit. Beyond 5 meters, it's like a barrier keeps all the dandelion seeds within that range. Therefore, as long as you're more than 5 meters away, you're safe.

Li Yao marked the dandelion's nest on the map and continued exploring other places.

After walking another 20 meters or so, a huge redwood tree appeared in front of Li Yao. It was estimated to be over 100 meters tall. This redwood tree may have awakened a supernatural ability, as all the plants within a 50-meter radius of it had withered and died.

Li Yao used an infrared detector to look at the tree for a long time, but couldn't see any changes. It was no different from the other trees.

She used her mental energy to scan and discovered that the tree had wood-type ability fluctuations, which appeared to be at the early stage of level 2.

She used her ice-based powers to create ice spikes and rubbed them against the tree trunk a few times, but the tree didn't budge.

Li Yao stabbed the tree trunk again with the ice spike, but the tree still didn't react. After thinking for a moment, she used her fire-based ability to condense a fire blade and slashed at the tree trunk.

A strange thing happened: the redwood realized it couldn't beat the woman in front of it, so it pulled itself out of the ground by its roots and ran away as fast as it could.

Have you ever seen a woman in a floor-length dress lift up her skirt and run away? That tree's silhouette looks just like that.

Li Yao teleported in front of it, and the redwood braked suddenly, turned around, and continued running. The two "people" chased each other and "played" for a long time. The tree seemed to have lost some of its greenness, so it simply ran back to its tree pit and pretended to be dead.
