Chapter 256 Fierce Battle

For people living in a chaotic place, the royal capital Adelaide is too far away, and its current affairs are less interesting than a piece of gossip from Benghazi.

Now, almost everyone knows that Zhang Fan, the lieutenant general commander of the 358th Regiment in Benghazi and captain of the newly formed independent fleet, is an arrogant and domineering man.

The commander's office is staffed entirely by female soldiers, all of whom are beautiful, and men are not allowed to enter his office. Who knows what he does in his office?

Some officers who came to report from Muli, Haige, and Anlin Sanxing could only hand their reports to female soldiers of the 358th Regiment to take into their superiors' offices.

Then they waited outside the door until the female soldiers' secretaries brought out the documents with the officers' names signed and stamped, and then left immediately.

There were still officers with a sense of justice. Letters impeaching and accusing Lieutenant General Zhang Fan of disregarding military discipline and indulging in debauchery flew like snowflakes to the Lane military headquarters and the royal capital, Adelaide.

However, one of these places was on the front lines in Milan, and the other was in a precarious situation. They had no time to deal with such trivial matters, so all the whistleblower letters were kept in China and not sent out.

Others may not care, but the paparazzi love this kind of news. All sorts of cameras and long lenses are on the buildings, hillsides, and rooftops outside the Benghazi military camp.

One side of the 358th Regiment commander's office has floor-to-ceiling windows, which allowed some reporters to capture some rather erotic scenes. Although the people's faces were not clearly visible due to the distance, a short-haired man wearing a lieutenant general's uniform and a female soldier lying in his arms could be vaguely seen.

Given the paparazzi's professional skills, they could write a lengthy article of over 10,000 words based on just one photo, and make it sound very logical.

Inside the commander's office, a short-haired "man" wearing a lieutenant general's uniform sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, swirling a glass of red wine in one hand and holding a female soldier in his arms with the other. The female soldier picked up the official seal next to her and stamped it on the documents herself.

"Sister Yuna, how long are we going to keep acting?"

“There’s no other way.” Yuna, with her short hair, pressed the voice changer on her collar and resumed her normal voice. “The commander requires that everyone be absolutely convinced that he has always been in Benghazi. We can only keep acting.”

...

Inside the palace, Udinese grinned as he brandished his long sword.

Just as the longsword was less than half a foot from Grand Duke Ryan's neck, Udinese suddenly felt an aura of death creeping towards him.

This was a sixth sense honed through countless brushes with death. Without hesitation, Udinese immediately sheathed his sword, curled his body into a ball, and protected his vital areas with his arms.

Bang!

A powerful whip kick lashed across Udinese's arms in the chest, bending and deforming the blade of the longsword. Udinese was sent flying from the platform, crashing heavily onto the wooden table below, shattering it and splashing tea all over him.

"Huh? That's a quick reaction." A young man's voice came from the high platform.

"Who are you?" Udinese stood up from the ground, threw away the deformed knife in his hand, and stared coldly at the young doctor next to Grand Duke Ryan on the high platform.

The doctor was brought by Dean Seven and was constantly changing Grand Duke Ryan's IV fluids, making him appear to be just an ordinary medical worker.

However, Udinese knew that if he hadn't reacted quickly enough to avoid a fatal blow, the force of that whip kick would have broken his neck.

No doctor could possibly have such skills.

The young doctor smiled, slowly walked down the steps from the platform, taking off his white coat, hat, and mask as he went, and introduced himself with a smile:

"It is an honor to meet you, Lieutenant General Zhang Fan, Commander of the 358th Regiment of the ROK Army stationed in Benghazi."

Udinese remained silent.

The ministers in the council chamber were so tense they could hardly breathe. Just a second ago, they thought Grand Duke Ryan was about to die by the sword.

On the other side, Marquis Charlie stared blankly at Zhang Fan. He didn't understand why this man shouldn't be in Benghazi right now. One of the purposes of the Fashan army's choice to break through from the chaotic land was to pin the newly formed independent space fleet of the Ryan Kingdom's army down there.

And Zhang Fan, as the supreme commander of that independent fleet, actually abandoned the entire fleet in the midst of battle and ran off to Adelaide.

"That brat! He only made his move at the very end! Is the Grand Duke someone we can use as bait?!" Dean Erwin was fuming and glaring at him again.

"Hehe." Zhu Yifu laughed. "Didn't you remind us a long time ago to get used to it? Have you forgotten? Xiao Zhang never plays by the rules."

"This kid can drive you crazy with his actions." Erwin rolled his eyes. "He abandoned his fleet in the midst of battle and ran here. Only he would do something like that."

"The military has restored Wang Desheng's rank and position," Zhu Yifu said with a smile. "With him in command, and the White Tiger Brigade also in place, there won't be any problems in the chaotic area."

Zhu Yifu found it somewhat amusing; Zhang Fan wasn't the only one who had abandoned his troops. Including himself and Qingyi, that made three people.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three muffled thuds rang out, and the two figures locked in combat in the center of the council chamber separated. Udinese took a deep breath, suppressing the surging emotions within him.

Zhang Fan hopped lightly a few meters away, adjusting his breathing and relaxing his aching limbs.

Those around them didn't dare to breathe. As high-ranking officials of Ryan, they had never seen such a brutal, hand-to-hand combat where no regard for defense existed.

Even Zhu Yifu craned his neck, watching the scene with great interest.

Youth is truly wonderful; it was only in his youth that he employed this style of fighting that focused solely on offense without considering defense. This kind of fighting was simply a test of basic physical abilities.

Whoever's punch is faster, harder, and more accurate, and whose body gives out first, wins.

“When I first heard that Domir Khan died at the hands of a young soldier in his twenties, I didn’t believe it,” Udinese wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. “Now I believe it.”

"Which one? Oh, him..." Zhang Fan nodded. "I vaguely remember him. Killing him gives a lot of points."

“You…” Udinese was so angry that veins bulged on his forehead. The commander of one of the four elite forces of the Fashan Kingdom was seen as nothing more than “experience points” in the eyes of the other party.

Bang! Bang!

If you disagree, then settle it with your fists.

Zhang Fan lunged forward, bending his right knee and striking Udinese in the face.

Facing Zhang Fan's knee, Udinese's eyes widened in anger, and he crossed his arms to block it. The collision of his knee and elbow instantly created a shockwave in all directions.

boom!

People seemed to hear the sound of bones clashing together.

Zhang Fan's offensive wasn't over yet. Using the momentum, he turned in mid-air and delivered a whip kick from above, striking Udinese's neck and collarbone.

Udinese immediately bent over, raising his arms above his head like a shield.

boom!

The collision between the two created a shockwave in the council chamber.

Click!

The blue bricks beneath Udinese's feet crumbled.

Good heavens!

Udinese was horrified, but fortunately he used his arms to protect his vitals and deflected the force with his body. If that kick had landed directly on him, not only would his collarbone have been shattered, but his neck would have been broken.

"Isn't it all about offense? Defending is no fun then."

When Zhang Fan's attack failed, he made contact and then retreated immediately, taking small, light steps a few meters away to prevent the opponent from having a chance to defend or counterattack.

Udinese's face darkened; being provoked by a junior had ignited his fighting spirit as a soldier.

"good!"

With a roar, Udinese's muscles swelled up instantly, his arms becoming thick and menacing as they tightened.

"drink!"

Udinese strode forward, swinging his fists, and charged toward Zhang Fan.

"Good timing!"

Instead of retreating, Zhang Fan advanced, firmly planted his feet in a horse stance, and threw a punch at his opponent.

Bang bang bang bang bang!

A series of loud punches echoed through the council chamber.

It was clearly visible to the naked eye that during the fight, the clothes of the two men were torn apart like butterflies by the powerful punches, and their upper body muscles were torn apart by the continuous impact of the enormous force. The two men were covered in blood and looked extremely horrific.

Most of the ministers in the council chamber were civil officials, and they had never seen such a beastly fight. Some of the more timid ones had already collapsed to the ground, unable to get up, and some even wet their pants.

boom!

Another loud bang! This time, Zhang Fan's fist collided violently with Udinese's fist in mid-air, and the huge recoil force separated the two briefly.

Even from the perspective of an outsider, one can feel the power of the colliding fists, let alone the feelings of the two fighters.

"Kid, you're ruthless!" Udinese exclaimed from the bottom of his heart.

As the "Wolf King" of the "Lone Wolf" special forces, Udinese knew how ruthless he had to be to use this brutal, hand-to-hand combat style in battle, and only he knew how much pain his body had to endure when using this tactic.

“You’re not bad either.” Zhang Fan felt his fingers go numb, and the web between his thumb and forefinger of his hand split open, covered in blood. “You’re better than Nie Yun.”

"Who is Nie Yun?" Udinese was a little puzzled. The other party was comparing him to this person, but he didn't seem to know any powerful figures named Nie Yun.

“You don’t recognize him? That’s okay. To correct you, I meant you’re a bit stronger than Nie Yun from two years ago.” Zhang Fan flicked the blood off his hands as if nothing had happened and smiled. “Don’t mind it, it’s really a compliment.”

"Pah! Enough with the nonsense." Amidst the horrified gazes of the crowd, Zhang Fan spat out a mouthful of blood, a chilling, almost sinister smile curling at the corner of his mouth. "Again!"

"Kid, are you out of your mind?!" Udinese was still panting heavily, looking somewhat dazed.

This was the first time Udinese had encountered someone who could go toe-to-toe with him without being at a disadvantage. However, this kind of fighting style, where you kill a thousand enemies but lose eight hundred of your own, was something even he couldn't sustain for long. And judging from his opponent's expression, he seemed to be enjoying it?

Is this guy even human?!

Udinese quietly made a small movement, pressing his fingers against his ear for a while, but unexpectedly there was no response.

“It’s no use,” Grand Duke Ryan suddenly said from above the platform. “The council chamber is completely electromagnetically shielded. Signals from here can’t get out, and signals from outside can’t get in either.”

"If you're afraid of dying, don't be a soldier!" Zhang Fan roared, channeling all his strength. His fist drew an arc in the air, whistling through the wind, and struck Udinese's face.

As Udinese watched this punch, the surrounding air seemed to be sucked in by an invisible black hole, turning into a vortex that instantly enveloped the opponent's fist, with faintly visible bolts of lightning seemingly running across the fist as it struck.

Udinese's heart skipped a beat. He panicked. He didn't think he could withstand the punch. Instead of blocking with his arms as before, he chose to step back.

"Refund my ass, you coward!"

"Let's fight back!"

Zhang Fan leaped on one leg and threw another punch.

One move down, and every move down. Udinese retreated hastily, while Zhang Fan unleashed a series of cross-fist strikes.

Bang bang bang bang bang!

Udinese had unknowingly retreated to a corner, with nowhere left to go, and Zhang Fan's fists rained down on him.

Udinese covered his head with his hands and curled his body into a ball to reduce the damage he would suffer.

But no matter how good the defense is, it can't withstand such a one-sided beating from the other side.

Udinese seized an opportunity, using all his strength to push off the wall with both legs, and his whole body slammed into Zhang Fan's chest.

With a loud thud, Zhang Fan was knocked backward several steps.

Without the slightest hesitation, Udinese immediately ran towards the door of the council chamber.

He's over forty, and there's no need for him to fight with a young man in his twenties. As long as he reunites with his "wolf pack," he believes no one can withstand their attack.

"What are you running for!" Zhang Fan kicked out, aiming a kick at Udinese's back.

Udinese didn't even glance at his back, continuing to sprint towards the door, while simultaneously pulling and dragging Marquis Charles behind him with one hand.

Marquis Charles was somewhat bewildered.

Zhang Fan was stunned for a moment. His kick was about to hit Marquis Charlie in the chest. If Marquis Charlie didn't die, he would probably break all his ribs.

"Don't hurt my father!"

On the high platform, the nurse next to Grand Duke Ryan exclaimed in surprise, ripped off her mask, and revealed her face.

The one dressed as a nurse was Alice.
