Chapter 152 Apology

"You all think that under the rule of nobles, all resistance is futile, right?" Zhang Fan's gaze swept across the entire room. "Just like now, facing nine members of the Crescent Moon Guard, you all think I will definitely lose in the face of overwhelming power, right?"

The fighting arena was completely silent; it was an obvious fact that the trainees had no idea what Zhang Fan was trying to say.

"Then I'll break it and show you!"

Hiss—

Zhang Fan tore off his student uniform, which was now just tattered rags.

All the trainees stared wide-eyed. Unlike Barkley's muscle-flexing, Zhang Fan's performance was met with nothing but shock.

There wasn't an inch of undamaged skin on his body; it was covered in mottled scars, each one looking like it had been slashed by a knife!

What kind of combat experience could train a person's body to be like this?

This is the price Zhang Fan paid for facing mutated cockroaches alone on Mars; every wound represents the pincers and sickles of cockroaches that died at his hands.

Bob's boxing training wasn't for nothing, nor was his wrestling with Katerina.

If you underestimate Katerina just because she's a woman, you're mistaken. The title of "fighting nation" is fully embodied in her. Every time Zhang Fan wrestled with her, he felt like he was wrestling a female bear.

Then Zhang Fan did something that left everyone present even more dumbfounded.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Zhang Fan untied the sandbags from his feet, arms, and waist and threw them off the ring. Because today's training session ended late, Zhang Fan hadn't had time to remove the weights from his body before heading to the teaching building for his theory class.

Curious students ran to the edge of the ring and picked up the five sandbags.

"Holy crap! It's full of iron filings!"

Several trainees picked up the iron sandbags in disbelief.

"Holy crap! 10 kilograms each!"

The noblemen on the other side were dumbfounded. It turned out that their opponents had been fighting on the stage while carrying 100 pounds of weight.

The Crescent Moon Guard members were still in a daze. How could they fight their captain like that while carrying 100 pounds of equipment? What kind of monster was their opponent?

"What? Aren't you coming?" Zhang Fan bounced on the spot, stretching his limbs to free them. "Then I'm coming!"

Swoosh—

Bang!

Zhang Fan suddenly bent down and kicked out, his figure shooting towards a member of the Crescent Moon Guard. He swept his right leg across, hitting the member directly in the abdomen and kicking him off the stage.

"Eight left." Zhang Fan lightly touched his toes to the ground and retreated to his original position. "If you don't go now, you'll miss your chance."

The remaining eight Crescent Guard members exchanged bewildered glances. The competition had reached a point where a result was inevitable. Even they wanted to know the final outcome, so they gritted their teeth and charged forward together.

Facing the eight men, Zhang Fan advanced instead of retreating, rushing to the nearest Crescent Moon Guard member and kicking him. The member instinctively bent his knees and crouched down, protecting his chest with his arms.

Bang!

Even with his arms cushioning the impact, the Crescent Guard member was still kicked away.

"Seven more!"

"Go quickly!" One of the Crescent Moon Guard members seized the opportunity to grab Zhang Fan's raised right leg tightly, signaling to his teammates.

However, Zhang Fan ignored the teammate who was holding onto his right leg, raised his right leg and swept it horizontally, dragging the teammate and slamming him into a Crescent Guard member who was rushing up.

Bang!

The massive impact knocked two Crescent Guard members unconscious on the spot, and Zhang Fan's right leg was also released.

"Five more!"

Bang!

Click!

Zhang Fan exchanged a punch with a Crescent Moon Guard member, and then heard the sound of bones breaking. The member clutched his arm and fell to the ground in pain.

"Four more!"

puff!

Zhang Fan delivered a knee strike to the abdomen of a Crescent Moon Guard member, who immediately collapsed to the ground, arching his back like a shrimp, vomiting bile.

"Three more!"

Bang! Bang!

Zhang Fan charged forward like a roc spreading its wings, grabbed the collars of two Crescent Moon Guard members, and slammed them face-up onto the arena floor.

"There's one more!"

Zhang Fan released the collars of the two unconscious Crescent Moon Guard members and stood up.

"I surrender! I surrender!" The last remaining Crescent Moon Guard member waved his hands repeatedly and retreated ten meters away from Zhang Fan. "I've lost! I've lost!"

"You see, it's not actually that difficult!" Zhang Fan laughed heartily, "Hahaha—"

In the arena where thousands of people were fighting, only Zhang Fan's unrestrained and arrogant laughter could be heard.

Under the watchful eyes of thousands, Zhang Fan walked proudly to the other side.

"A monster...a monster!" The noblemen on the other side were so frightened that they ran away in all directions. Some of the more timid ones collapsed to the ground with their legs giving way.

It only took Zhang Fan a few seconds to walk up to Alice, but for those present, it felt like centuries had passed.

Alice stood there blankly as Zhang Fan walked up to her, completely distraught, all traces of her previous arrogance and haughtiness gone.

Snap!

A resounding slap landed on Alice's face.

Alice covered the right side of her face with her hand, her eyes widening as if she couldn't believe that the slap had landed on her.

However, the five red finger marks on her fair cheek and the burning pain on half of her face indicated that Zhang Fan's slap had indeed landed on her.

“Fulfill your promise and apologize to everyone.” Zhang Fan looked at her coldly.

Alice stared blankly. From birth until now, she had never suffered any injustice. Any unreasonable request she made would be fulfilled by those around her. She was the beloved princess of the Charles family, and there was no doubt that she would become a member of the royal family in the future, enjoying the respect and worship of all people.

But now, in front of countless peers, she was slapped hard across the face by an ordinary person.

"Waaah, you bullied me..." Alice's tears suddenly burst forth. Having lost the protection of her noble aura, she was now just an ordinary girl who had lost her soul.

“You should be punished if you do something wrong. This is something my parents taught me from a young age.”

Zhang Fan felt no sympathy whatsoever for the crying girl. It was fortunate he had won today; had he lost, judging from the circumstances of this "infinite duel," the princess had never had good intentions from the start, and might have tormented him in some way.

"Didn't your parents teach you that?!" Zhang Fan roared.

"Waaah—waaaah—" Alice cried even louder.

"Then let me teach you!" Zhang Fan grabbed Alice by the neck with one hand and lifted her up like a chick. "Go back and look at the family tree first, see what's written on the first page of the investiture book!"

Zhang Fan's words were resounding and echoed in the ears of everyone in the hall.

Every citizen of Ryan who has studied history knows that Ryan's nobility system originated from the ancient knighthood system.

Every noble family genealogy with a long and rich history records the story of their ancestors on the first page of the inscription book, detailing how their fathers became nobles.

There was no intrigue or bullying; what was recorded was courage, sacrifice, and dedication—the chivalrous spirit of charging ahead to protect the people. This glory flowing in their blood is the reason why their ancestors were ennobled.

But all of this has been forgotten for far too long. Especially since the Marquis Charles the Elder, after the nobility became a hereditary title, they have been living a life of decadence and debauchery, resting on the laurels left by their ancestors, thinking themselves superior to others, and spending their days currying favor, flattering, oppressing the people, and abusing their power.

The nobility of today is nothing like that of ancient times; they have long since become corrupt.

"Cough cough cough, woo woo, cough..." Alice was being choked, her face flushed red from the blood rushing to her head, and she was having trouble breathing.

"Apologize." Zhang Fan didn't lighten his grip at all, still looking at her coldly.

"Yes, I'm sorry... I'm sorry." Alice's eyes were brimming with tears, her voice barely audible, her body twisting and struggling, her legs kicking wildly in the air.

"Speak louder! I can't hear you!"

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Waaah..."

Alice's voice choked with emotion; though still not loud, it was the loudest sound she could muster at that moment.

Bang!

Everyone was stunned.

Putting aside her status as a princess, in the students' minds, Alice, this petite, delicate, beautiful, and charming classmate, was thrown out by Zhang Fan like a withered flower with no mercy, crashing into several noble children below the arena.

"Remember, you still need to come to Class 1, Grade 3 of Camp F tomorrow to clean for a day."

Under the stunned gazes of everyone present, Zhang Fan swaggered out of the fighting arena.
