I just checked the subscriptions for the last chapter. Excluding one unauthorized subscription, thank you to the four readers who have stuck with me until now.
This book is finally finished! Although the ending isn't perfect, at least the Ryan arc is complete. Too many characters' fates were left unresolved, so I had to leave it with an open ending.
It's obvious that this book isn't doing well. I knew that from the time I started writing around 200,000 words, but I still wrote 400,000 words as practice and then applied for it to be published. I figured I had to at least do justice to the dozens of readers who invested in it.
The story ended at 670,000 words because the later parts no longer served as practice. I wrote freely because I was practicing, which led to some jumps in the plot and overly ambitious steps, resulting in some rambling and disjointed developments.
I didn't handle the character of Ivanka well; too many readers disliked the twist, which was a mistake. It wasn't that the character was bad; ultimately, my writing skills weren't up to par with handling such a complex character.
When I start a new book in the future, I will be careful to avoid pitfalls and will write books with a single female lead, or at most two.
This book has too many regrets. If I were to rewrite it, I would limit the map to Mars and let the protagonist stay there and develop his strength stealthily. The book should actually have ended when the protagonist left Mars.
But there are no "what ifs," so I'll leave that for the next book.
Here's a heads-up: my next book will probably be a historical farming story, with some later battles for supremacy.
But I haven't written a single word yet. I just have an idea in my mind. I'll send out a notice to let everyone know when the new book is released.
See you again when the new book comes out!
Goodnight, friends! ^o^zzZ
