Chapter 18 The Sun Still Rises
Under the cover of a lot of noisy noises, this cough is actually not loud.
But the amazing thing is that the sound was heard very clearly by everyone.
Such an extraordinary phenomenon instantly interrupted people's inner resentment and diverted their attention.
Looking in the direction of the voice, they saw an old man, well-dressed and gentle, standing quietly at the railing on the second floor, looking down at them with a calm expression.
“If you have any objections to this ranking, you can reflect it to our Norman Bishop afterwards.”
He said in a kind tone: "This assessment is not over yet, I hope everyone will not disrupt the order of the temple."
After saying this, the old man nodded to Andy in the crowd below, then turned and left people's sight.
Everyone quickly understood what was going on.
The anger was thus extinguished, the protest sentiment was restrained, and the insulting voices were completely swept away.
After a long silence, some people stood up and left their seats.
As they walked, there was constant discussion, but the content had nothing to do with this assessment.
It was as if they had never been here.
Time passes slowly.
There were more and more empty seats in the packed auditorium, and more and more people were leaving. Some people glanced at Andy out of the corner of their eyes, with pity and regret in their eyes.
Most people, however, didn't even look at him.
It was as if before this, they had never uttered those words of praise and admiration, nor had they ever spoken out angrily for Andy.
"I'm sorry, child. After careful consideration, we believe that there are serious problems with your background and you are not suitable to join our Gospel Church."
A middle-aged judge came up to Andy and said expressionlessly: "Come with me, this is no longer the place for you to stay."
These words cheered up the remaining people, and they all stared at Andy with inexplicable eyes.
As if wanting to see how he would react to this.
Feeling lost?
With Andy's level of maturity, it is impossible for him to be like a child and not know what to do when encountering problems.
Rebellion?
Why should we resist? Whether a person can join the church is entirely up to the church itself.
Now the church won’t let you join, won’t let you enjoy the benefits and resources that belong to the church, and refuses to help you become a supernatural being...what reason do you have to protest?
Besides, Andy's cutting in line was not against the rules in itself, but no one had pursued this issue before.
Trying to get the church to change its attitude?
This is even more impossible.
The Norman Bishop had obviously succumbed to the intimidation of the old gentleman, and the fact that the old gentleman stood up without any concealment had already sent a clear signal.
He doesn't like Andy and doesn't welcome Andy.
So Andy had to leave.
Unless he can change the old man's attitude towards it.
But how to change?
To please? To curry favor? To pledge allegiance? To admit his mistakes? I'm afraid this kid doesn't even know where he went wrong? Most people don't know why this happened, but some people who sympathize with Andy are looking forward to it.
I hope that he can give in, admit his mistakes, save the situation, and regain the qualifications to become a superhuman and a future hero.
After all, everyone saw it, and Andy didn't do anything out of the ordinary.
Maybe this means that the problem is not serious? Unfortunately...
What made these people disappointed was that the boy who was expelled by the priest just nodded after hearing his words and followed him!
He seemed not to care about the honors and qualifications he had worked so hard to gain, which were taken away from him in an instant.
Or, he doesn't seem surprised by the current result?
But how is this possible?
Before the old man came forward, who could have imagined that this would happen?
At that time, everyone was already thinking about preparing a welcome dinner for Andy...
So at this moment, in the eyes of outsiders, Andy's behavior was nothing more than despair and despair, barely maintaining the last bit of pitiful decency and self-esteem.
This is understandable.
After all, before this, he had been praised and admired by countless people. It was normal for him to have higher psychological expectations of himself and be unwilling to give in and admit his mistakes.
But this also silently means that the situation is completely irreversible!
From then on, everyone looked at the boy in a completely different way than before.
Anthony's friend no longer had the awe he once had.
When he looked at the boy, the condescending scrutiny and coldness returned to his eyes.
A person's talent is very important, and extraordinary talent can make others admire and fear him.
But if this talent has no room to be developed, if there is no attention and training from the bigwigs, and if he cannot become an extraordinary person, then what is this boy? He is just a consumptive from an ordinary family! Even if this consumptive is very powerful, he has a certain mysterious color.
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
But he is a weak man after all, unable to become extraordinary, and has fallen from the clouds to the dust!
One shot and you'll die!
And this weakling was still trying to maintain his pathetic self-esteem...
Did he really think that he still had self-respect?
What a ridiculous idea...
"Find a way to leave here, leave this country!"
“The sooner the better!”
A sound as thin as a mosquito sounded beside Andy's ear.
That was the result of a nun using a prop to transmit sound when he passed by her.
But the other young people who participated in the assessment just watched Andy’s back as he was taken away and disappeared from their sight, with different expressions on their faces, but they said nothing.
"Like a flash of light..."
The friend suddenly exclaimed, interrupting the long silence, and then he patted Anthony's shoulder happily.
"Others are in trouble, why are you in a daze?"
"See? The old gentleman picked you as the first one!"
"Picked, number one! What does this mean?"
What does this mean? Anthony was stunned, caught off guard by this sudden turn of events, and even felt sorry for Andy.
But after hearing this, he quickly came to his senses.
Then he hesitated, unsure, "Does it mean... that I caught the old gentleman's eye?"
“That’s right!”
My friend loudly affirmed, “Isn’t this exactly why you came here?”
As he said this, he glanced threateningly at his peers.
As a result, several young boys and girls who were originally dissatisfied with Andy's dismal exit and Anthony's promotion to power due to shady dealings, quickly averted their gazes and became evasive.
After most people reacted, they looked at Anthony with envy.
Just like they had seen Andy before.
The ranking announcement then continued.
The rising star suddenly fell, and the old star that had been eliminated was dragged back to its original position. Its light dimmed, making the entire church lose its luster and become deserted.
But this does not affect the rules of the world, which continue to operate as usual.
