Chapter 46: The Zombie King's Cook (Part 2)
Song Yuqing saw a hint of fear in Gaha's eyes. To be on the safe side, she decided to observe him for a while longer.
Watching Chen Ke squatting at the feet of the zombie king, plucking the white dove's feathers, Song Yuqing felt an inexplicable emotion, either sympathy or pity. When she first met Chen Ke at Base 27, he was still arrogant, reprimanding Liu Xiaona like a disciplinary director for secretly driving a tractor. When the pigeon's blood had drained out, the Zombie King threw it back to Chen Ke. By then, Chen Ke had already used a lighter to light a small fire on the ground and started roasting the pigeon meat.
Everything in front of him shocked Song Yuqing. What was going on?
Soon, the aroma of cooked meat wafted into his nose, a murky blend of aroma and the stench of the market. Song Yuqing watched helplessly as the two zombie kings devoured the roasted pigeon meat, their expressions like gluttons.
Zombies eat cooked meat? Song Yuqing and Nanjiao looked at Gaha at the same time, blinking in confusion, almost asking: "Excuse me, Gaha, when did your distant relatives evolve into this?"
After a sack full of pigeons had been drained of their blood and roasted, the two zombie kings turned away contentedly. Gaha clenched her fists. Oh no! She sensed the two zombie kings' power had increased again, by more than one level. Song Yuqing also noticed something unusual: after the two zombie kings had eaten and drunk their fill, their backs looked increasingly human as they departed.
If zombies evolve to become the same as humans, how will humans survive?
"What should we do now? Should we fight or not?" Nanjiao asked in a low voice.
“Gah…”
"We have to take a long-term view."
"I'm afraid it's too late to make long-term plans..." Nanjiao sighed.
Song Yuqing came back to his senses from his thoughts and looked up, only to see Chen Ke staring at them and walking towards them.
After the two zombie kings left, Chen Ke picked up the pigeon skeletons left by the zombie kings and ate the meat from the cracks between the bones. After just a few bites, her will as a human being was restored to some extent.
"Song Yuqing." Chen Ke's voice was hoarse.
Song Yuqing slowly stood up, put one hand behind his back, and took out a kitchen knife from the space.
"Sit down, you must be tired of squatting." Chen Ke jumped onto a stone table dejectedly and sat down with his legs swinging.
Gaha nervously protected Song Yuqing, but was gently pushed away by Song Yuqing.
"It's okay, I'll talk to her."
Song Yuqing slowly walked towards Chen Ke. The closer they got, the stronger the stench became. Song Yuqing pursed her lips and held her breath.

Chen Ke spoke calmly, as if everything she had experienced was just a plot in a movie and had nothing to do with her.
The two zombie kings somehow learned that eating cooked pigeon meat could quickly improve their strength, so they ordered Chen Ke to catch pigeons every day and roast them for them to eat. The reason why Chen Ke is still alive is because zombies are not good at plucking feathers or roasting pigeons.
"You became the Zombie King's cook?" Nanjiao opened his mouth in disbelief.
"Yeah, isn't it ridiculous? Every day I just pick up the pigeon meat they leave behind and survive." What Chen Ke didn't say was that eating pigeon meat gradually gave her extraordinary physical strength. However, Song Yuqing also noticed it.
"Gaha..." Gaha felt sympathy for Chen Ke and his clenched fists loosened.
"There's nothing I can do for you. I have some pills that can calm zombies. Here they are." Nan Jiao kindly pulled out a small glass bottle of white pills from his pocket and tossed it to Chen Ke. Chen Ke didn't catch it, but watched the bottle roll to the ground and laughed.

"Do you still want to go to the internet cafe to find something?"
Nanjiao wanted to say something but was interrupted by Song Yuqing.
Song Yuqing pointed to an abandoned shop on the side of the road that looked like an internet cafe and said, "You go find it. Gaha and I will go back first."
There was nothing Nanjiao could do even if he disagreed. Song Yuqing and Gaha, a pair of good friends, walked quickly towards the God's Supermarket without waiting for him at all.
"Why?" Nanjiao couldn't understand why he didn't wait for him.
In fact, Song Yuqing was afraid of showing her weakness. She was proud and didn't want to show her embarrassment in front of Nanjiao, since they were not very familiar with each other.
Song Yuqing and Gaha returned to the God's Supermarket ahead of them. It was still dark, and Xiao Roubao and Liu Xiaona had already gone to their rooms to sleep. After the upgrade, the soundproofing at the God's Supermarket had indeed improved; they couldn't hear Xiao Roubao and Liu Xiaona's snoring at all! Song Yuqing's eyelids were already drooping. After a quick wash, he fell into bed and fell asleep.
This sleep lasted for ten hours. If Nanjiao hadn't excitedly knocked on the door and shouted, Song Yuqing could have slept for another ten hours.
