Chapter 194 Like a Country Bumpkin

It was almost eight o'clock when I got home.

Zhen Tian was placed on the sofa by Ji Yuzhi, fiddling with her phone. She had chosen the sofa herself; it was a mint green, semi-circular design with uneven backrests that created a pleasing effect. When Zhen Tian went to the furniture store, she didn't find anything she liked, but finally found this one in a design gallery's catalog, contacted them, and had it custom-made. It was her favorite piece of furniture out of all.

She covered the circular space formed by the sofa with a white shaggy carpet, which felt very comfortable to sit on.

Her two calves dangled over the edge of the sofa, her toes rubbing against the carpet.

"The fireworks lasted for an hour!" Zhen Tian said, looking at the videos circulating on everyone's WeChat Moments and Weibo. "It's such a pity I missed it."

The kitchen in the house is semi-open, and Ji Yuzhi can see Zhen Tian leaning there playing on her phone as soon as he looks up.

"I'll take you to see it another time."

"But then it wouldn't be this year's fireworks."

"Whose fault is it if we can't see it?"

Zhen Tian shut her mouth reluctantly, not daring to retort.

The porridge was made by Ji Yuzhi using a pressure cooker; it was soft, sticky, and sweet, just like Zhen Tian's usual recipe. There were also some side dishes made by Ji Yuzhi's parents that he had brought back from his trip to H City in the refrigerator. Zhen Tian ate two small bowls before stopping.

She let out a soft burp, then trotted back to the sofa and sprawled out there again.

Ji Yuzhi washed the dishes, wiped his hands, and went to the bedroom.

"Zhizhi...where are you going?"

He glanced at her.

"Carry me, please." Zhen Tian blinked her big eyes.

He originally intended to take a quick shower and then come out to be with her, but since she asked, Ji Yuzhi simply carried her inside as well.

While Ji Yuzhi was looking for a change of clothes, Zhen Tian fiddled with the notebook on the bedside table and read aloud.

"CATTI review materials".

"What is this?" Zhen Tian held up a thick stack of paper, which she could barely lift.

"The materials I need to read for the translation exam," Ji Yuzhi replied after glancing at them.

"It's so thick..."

Zhen Tian was startled by the thickness of it, and stuck out her tongue. She thought she would probably go crazy if she saw it.

"What? You want to take a look at me?" Ji Yuzhi's lips curled into a smile.

"No, no, no, what's the use of seeing this?" Zhen Tian tossed the documents aside as if she had touched a hot potato.

He chuckled softly and walked into the bathroom.

When they came out again, the little girl was already fast asleep, sprawled out on her back.

He glanced at his watch in confusion, thinking it was because he had been washing for too long that day.

He turned off the light and quietly climbed into bed.

Feeling the warmth around her, Zhen Tian snuggled into Ji Yuzhi's arms in her sleep and settled into a comfortable position to continue sleeping.

Ji Yuzhi held her close, and they slept soundly through the night.

The next day when Zhen Tian returned to school, she felt that something was not quite right.

At first, she thought she was being too suspicious, but when people started coming to her asking for her contact information, she realized that something was really wrong.

I ran back to my dorm with my face covered the whole way.

She finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With final exams approaching, everyone has fewer classes lately, and all three of us were in the dorm when we got there.

Jin Yaya glanced at Zhen Tian, but unusually refrained from making any sarcastic remarks.

"You're back." Yang Tao, who had been sitting in front of the computer typing away, stood up excitedly when she saw Zhen Tian come in: "Little sister, you know you're famous? Look at my bookmarks."

She pointed to the page on the left side of the computer, which was full of posts asking for her personal information. The school forum was in an uproar.

Yang Tao casually clicked on one: "Look at the top, they all say you're a fairy, a celestial maiden descended to earth, and things like that."

Zhen Tian looked at the comments.

[This girl is asking for my hand in marriage.]

I'm 24, my family owns a house and a car, so I'm considered a slightly wealthy second-generation heir. I'm just wondering if you think I'm good enough to be your boyfriend?

Stop searching for my wife's information, I'm not happy about it.

This girl's everyday photos are so cute! [Image]

I've met her. She's a freshman in the animation design department, and I heard she got in with the highest score in her academic subjects this year.

[Reply: Is it true or false? Do you have any information?]

Information about Zhen Tian is flying around everywhere.

She looked at the post with a complicated and unspeakable expression.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg. Eighty percent of the people on the forum are searching for your information. You've completely overshadowed the freshmen from the broadcasting and performing arts departments."

No wonder.

Zhen Tian then realized why she felt so strange when she entered the school gate; it must be because everyone recognized her.

Yang Tao became more and more excited as she received the award.

Suddenly, Jiang Wei climbed out of bed, slammed the door, and left.

Jin Yaya glared at the two of them and followed them out.

"Ignore them." Yang Tao sighed. "The two of them were arguing sourly last night, but I ignored them."

Zhen Tian also sighed: "I originally thought we could all get along well."

"Me too. But everyone has their own little thoughts, girls are all like that." Yang Tao winked: "It's better to have quality friends than quantity."

“That’s true.” Zhen Tian smiled.

"What are your plans for this afternoon?" Yang Tao asked.

"No."

"Let's go shopping then, I want to buy some skincare products."

"all right."

The two hit it off immediately; shopping is something no girl can resist.

Sure enough, after contacting Ye Qingyan, they quickly formed a small group of three and headed towards the shopping mall.

Zhen Tian browsed around and picked out two coats. Her eyes were then drawn to the men's clothing store on her right, and she went straight inside.

When they came out, they had several times more bags in their hands than when they went in.

"You... gave this to your crush?" Yang Tao asked in astonishment.

"yes."

"You're really spending money like this!" Yang Tao exclaimed, clicking her tongue at the enormous Armani logo.

"It's nothing," Zhen Tian smiled. "It's just a tiny fraction of the pocket money I've had since I was little."

"Does your idol own a mine?" Yang Tao was shocked.

"I guess so," Zhen Tian chuckled. "But he only gave me his prize money from competitions. I haven't spent any money from home since fourth grade."

"You spent all the competition prize money?"

"yes."

"My legs are weak." Yang Tao leaned against Ye Qingyan.

Ye Qingyan patted Yang Tao on the shoulder with the air of someone who'd been there before: "You'll get used to it. When I first found out that Brother Ji could earn tens of thousands in a competition, I was just as clueless as you."

"I think it's too late to switch careers and become an online writer now. It would be a shame if everyone didn't get to see this material."

Ye Qingyan smiled mysteriously: "Then it's too late for you."

Why?

"Because someone beat you to it."

When Yang Tao asked Ye Qingyan again, she didn't answer, but her gaze was once again drawn to Zhen Tian's extravagant appearance.

She watched as the bags in Zhen Tian's hands multiplied, until she and Qingyan finally had to help carry them.

"You bought so many, will your crush like them all?"
