"Will you hate me for being so silly?"
Zhen Tian looked up at Ji Yuzhi with a serious expression and a smile on her face.
"Isn't it too late to start worrying about this now?" Ji Yuzhi teased her intentionally.
"It's not too late. If you don't like me anymore, I'll just go find someone who likes me." Zhen Tian made a face at him.
"Then go ahead." Ji Yuzhi picked up an orange, peeled it, and popped it into his mouth under Zhen Tian's longing gaze.
"Hmph, you wait, I'll go find them tomorrow."
The two sat on the sofa arguing, while Zhen Lei helped Lu Ti wash vegetables in the kitchen.
The warm atmosphere felt like a return to Zhen Tian's childhood.
However, it was also quite different. When they were young, Ji Yuzhi would not argue with her; he would either ignore her or spoil her.
After a while, Zhen Tian forgot about her little tantrum and leaned against Ji Yuzhi, her eyes fixed on the TV.
Ji Yuzhi didn't say anything, but just sat quietly beside her.
I occasionally give her a small snack. Recently, she's become obsessed with small twisted dough sticks—they're crispy, crunchy, and sweet. She eats them all the time. Sometimes she can't even eat a full meal.
"It's time to eat, eat less." Ji Yuzhi refused Zhen Tian's hand again when she reached out.
This time she wasn't angry and obediently withdrew her hand.
"My phone is ringing, hand it to me." Zhen Tian didn't want to move, so she directly ordered Ji Yuzhi around.
He took the phone; it was a video call from Ye Qingyan.
"What's the matter?"
"Haha, sister, we're eating snail rice noodles. Heaven and earth bear witness, we've never seen this before. I never thought it would taste so good. I'm crying."
To prove it was delicious, Ye Qingyan took a big bite.
Yuan Yuan looked at her with disdain: "You used to refuse to eat it no matter what I asked you to. Now you really like it, don't you?"
"You've fallen." Zhen Tian shook her head speechlessly; she still couldn't accept it: "How did you end up with Yuan Yuan?"
"And me..." Yang Tao poked her head out of Ye Qingyan's phone after she spoke, still slurping powder from her mouth.
"What are you doing? Having a get-together? And you're just eating snail rice noodles?"
"I was persuaded to come by Yuanyuan and Taozi; they kept urging me to eat here." Ye Qingyan shook her head, feeling that she had missed out on too many delicious foods in the first 20 years of her life.
"When you come back, we'll recruit you again, and our snail rice noodle team will grow stronger."
"I refuse." Zhen Tian frowned.
"Hey, Senior Shao Yuheng ran into me and asked why I wasn't at school. I told him I was still recovering from the earthquake. He seemed really worried about you, he'll probably contact you." Yang Tao raised an eyebrow at Zhen Tian with a mischievous grin.
Zhen Tian's hand trembled, and her phone shook.
During the shaking, Ji Yuzhi's face appeared in the video.
There was a three-second silence on the other end of the phone.
"Brother Ji is back! Hahahaha, hahaha..." Ye Qingyan giggled foolishly while holding her phone.
Yang Tao simply shrank back, pretending that the person who had just spoken wasn't her.
Yuan Yuan said firmly, "Then I won't bother you any longer. Have fun, goodbye."
After speaking, Ye Qingyan obediently turned off the video.
Zhen Tian felt a little guilty, but she didn't know why she felt guilty. Was it her fault that she was charming?
"So it really is possible to find someone who likes you." Ji Yuzhi's voice drifted over softly.
Zhen Tian's thoughts were immediately drawn to what she had said when the two of them had just had a fight. Now, she felt even more guilty.
Qingyan and the others are trying to get themselves killed.
Ji Yuzhi took the phone from her hand and opened the WeChat page.
[Senior Shao Yuheng: Junior, how are you feeling? Is your injury serious?]
Ji Yuzhi opened an unread message and placed it in front of Zhen Tian.
She felt so guilty that she didn't dare to look up.
"Would you believe me if I said it was all a misunderstanding?"
Ji Yuzhi mimicked her cold snort.
"Really, I haven't been in touch with my senior for a long time." Zhen Tian pouted and pinched the corner of his clothes to coax him.
Ji Yuzhi got up and walked towards the kitchen, with Zhen Tian sitting in her wheelchair following behind him to explain.
He couldn't help but smile.
"You've come at the perfect time, dinner's ready," Lu Ti said as she saw him come in.
Seeing that her parents didn't know how to explain anything, Zhen Tian kept putting food on Ji Yuzhi's plate throughout the meal, hoping to please him.
...
After two days of loving and bickering together, Ji Yuzhi had to leave again.
Zhen Tian had a bold idea.
"Only one..."
He held strands of her hair in his hand, gently rolling them up and then letting them go, playing with them repeatedly.
"Let me go back with you."
Ji Yuzhi looked down at her.
"I'm so bored at home, and I miss you. Anyway, I'm almost better now, so I don't have to stay at home anymore."
Ji Yuzhi did not deny that he wavered a little when he heard her say that she missed him, but he still firmly refused.
Why?
“If I go to work when I come home, who will take care of you during the day? I’m worried about that.”
"I can manage on my own. Just like now, I watch TV when I'm bored, and I can order takeout..."
When it comes to food delivery, you really can't order it. I knew before I lived in the villa that you couldn't just bring anyone there.
"Then I'll stay at our place... our old place." Zhen Tian had another idea: "We can order takeout there."
"It's a high-rise building, so it's inconvenient."
Ji Yuzhi offered a few words of advice: "Your friends will be back for winter break in less than a month, and they can keep you company then. How about you go home when you're feeling better?"
Zhen Tian knew that she couldn't compete with Ji Yuzhi in terms of eloquence, so she could only nod in agreement.
"good."
Because Zhen Tian had this idea, Ji Yuzhi specifically told Lu Ti to keep an eye on Zhen Tian and not let her run around recklessly before leaving the next day.
Zhen Tian angrily saw him off.
The aftermath of the earthquake is only now gradually coming to an end.
Zhen Hong had been undergoing closed-door training in the country and was unaware that her younger sister had been injured in the epicenter of the earthquake.
He finally got a few days off, and only after contacting his family did he learn about this.
He rushed to the Zhen family without stopping.
"Fourth brother? You're on vacation?"
Upon seeing Zhen Tian in a wheelchair, Zhen Hong's head buzzed.
He rushed back and learned that Tian Tian was injured, but he didn't expect the injury to be so serious.
"Your legs..."
That was an earthquake! Zhen Hong's eyes immediately reddened: "Why didn't you tell me about something so big?"
"Huh? Aren't you in closed training? Telling you will only increase your worries." Zhen Tian was startled by his sudden change in mood.
"What's so important about training? You're my most precious little sister. You're the one who's important!"
Zhen Hong hugged Zhen Tian, not wanting to cry in front of her, as it would make him, as her older brother, seem weak.
"Don't worry, your brother will train hard and win more gold medals, then earn lots and lots of money to pay for your medical treatment..."
Lu Ti heard the door open, but no one came in for a long time. When she came over, she saw this scene.
What's gotten into you now?
