Zhen Tian felt a little lost during the sudden, less busy holiday.
Before, she and Ji Yuzhi were running around every day and could only find a few spare moments to draw comics.
Now she's so bored that she's practically buried in her graphics tablet.
"Do you even want to keep your eyes?" Lu Yinuo lifted Zhen Tian's head away from the board lying on the bed: "Get up and draw, it's bad for your cervical spine."
"My back hurts when I sit. This is more comfortable." Zhen Tian shifted a couple of times to find a comfortable position.
"If you ruin your health by drawing this stuff, I'm afraid my sister and brother-in-law will kill me."
"Why would I kill you? If anyone's going to be killed, it'll be Little Brother," Zhen Tian added without turning her head.
"That makes sense." Lu Yinuo looked at Zhen Tian in surprise: "Going to university is no big deal, you've really mastered the art of shifting blame."
"It's just so-so."
Zhen Tian finished the last stroke: "Uncle, come and see, how is this? Does it look like a big boss?"
"Which character did you design?"
"This is it."
Zhen Tian flipped through the character design that Zhen Yan and Lu Lin had made together: "In this game, you have to storm into the big boss's house to win, right? That's the ultimate boss."
"Oh, this..."
Lu Yinuo knelt by the bed, her upper body leaning over the bed as she studied the character design with Zhen Tian on the bed.
"Time to eat."
There was a knock on Zhen Tian's door, and Lu Ti walked in from outside: "You two stop what you're doing and come out for dinner."
"Coming right away, sis."
"Right away, Mom."
Lu Yinuo and Zhen Tian refined the characters a bit more before leaving the room.
"Is this the usual amount of food at home?" Lu Yinuo looked at the seven dishes and two soups on the table. "This is too much. We can't finish it."
“It’s a holiday, and Tian Tian finally got to come back.” Zhen Lei came out of the kitchen with a bowl of food, smiling. “Look how enthusiastic your sister is now. Let’s see in a month. She’ll want us to eat out every day. Seven dishes, one dish for seven days is more like it.”
"What nonsense are you spouting now?" Lu Ti pinched her husband's waist. "Are you disgusted with me? Who works themselves to the bone outside and still has to do housework for you? It's me. Don't do everything."
"No, no, how could I possibly mind? We were just chatting casually, wasn't that Yinuo?"
"Yes, yes, brother-in-law definitely didn't mind." Lu Yinuo quickly stuffed a mouthful of rice into her mouth. "Mmm, delicious. Sweetie, eat this, roasted ribs, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Absolutely amazing."
Lu Yinuo gave a thumbs up.
"You're so glib." Lu Ti rolled her eyes at her youngest brother. "You've been out of school for a year now, what are your plans?"
"Sis, I'm at Zhenyan's studio."
"Xiaoyan's studio?"
Neither Zhen Lei nor Lu Ti had heard of this.
"Yes, we plan to expand the studio and turn it into a technology company. Yan Ge wants to expand his scope, not only making software repair tools but also game development. So I'm currently helping him manage the game aspect."
"Game development, is this what you and Tian Tian have been working on day and night?"
"This is part of it, isn't it?"
"Besides the original artwork, Zhenyan is mainly responsible for writing code, modeling, and so on..."
Lu Yinuo explained it in great detail.
Before Lu Lin approached him and Zhen Yan about making a game, Lu Yinuo had only taken on simple design jobs, from novel covers to jewelry design. He did many different kinds of work, but he never had a goal or direction.
Now, Lu Lin has found his direction for his future work.
That's fine too.
"Good idea, it's good that you have a good idea." Zhen Lei nodded.
"Yes, your parents and I were worried that you might get depressed from staying home all the time. Your brother-in-law was planning to let you manage the supermarket."
"Huh?" Lu Yinuo was both amused and exasperated: "What depression? I take on design work at home because I need to do it. Otherwise, I should be worried about having nothing to do when I'm out all day."
"We don't understand, do we..."
It's probably because parents have some concerns about all aspects of their children.
Because of this game, Lu Yinuo practically lived in the Zhen family's house.
This continued until Zhen Tian's birthday.
"It's your birthday tomorrow, baby. Is there anything you want?" Lu Ti opened the door and walked in before Zhen Tian went to sleep.
"Hmm?" Zhen Tian thought for a moment: "There's nothing I want. I don't lack anything."
"So, will your parents take you out to play? On a trip?"
"No, my uncle and I have things to do."
"That……"
"It's okay, no need to make a fuss." Zhen Tian snuggled into the blankets. "I'm tired, Mom."
"Okay, then you can go to sleep. Goodnight."
"Good night."
Lu Ti closed the door, and Zhen Tian left her room.
"How so?"
“She said she didn’t want anything.” Lu Ti shook her head: “Then I’ll make a cake tomorrow.”
"What do you mean she doesn't want anything? She wants a lot. It's just that we can't afford it."
"What is that?"
“Ji Yuzhi, of course.” Zhen Lei reluctantly admitted, “Look at Yuzhi here, your girl could list eight hundred things she wants.”
“Hey, I’ve noticed.” Lu Ti looked at Zhen Lei with amusement: “You and Xiao Yuzhi have been fighting over Xiao Yuzhi too many times in the past two years.”
"What, it's not okay?"
"Aren't you ashamed?" Lu Ti nudged his shoulder. "You're quite proud of being jealous of a child."
"So what? That's my daughter. I gave birth to her."
"Say it again, who gave birth to him?"
“You gave birth to him, you gave birth to him.” Zhen Lei immediately backed down, then sighed, “I just can’t accept it. Yu Zhi’s status is almost surpassing yours and mine.”
“That’s the person who will be with your daughter for the rest of her life. It’s not a bad thing for her to be a little dependent on him.” Lu Ti smiled before comforting her husband, “Being able to be depended on is a very happy thing.”
“If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t have accepted Yu Zhi.” Zhen Lei also admitted, “I don’t know how that kid is doing out there. He’s struggling alone in that kind of environment, and his family can’t help him at all.”
"See? You're all talk." Lu Ti smiled. "Yuzhi has always been a sensible child. I'm not too worried about him."
"I don't know how things ended up on this path by some twist of fate. From now on, Tian Tian will probably have to take care of the house by herself most of the time. I feel sorry for both of them."
"Children are free, children are free. There's no use in us worrying about it."
Lu Ti has always been a very insightful person, which is why she lives a happier life than most people.
"Okay."
There were sighs and groans coming from the living room.
In the bedroom over there, the little girl who had just said she was going to sleep was not sleepy at all.
Hiding under the covers with a bedside lamp on, I secretly video chatted with certain people.
"Only one..."
