Chapter Forty-Three Possessiveness

Zhen Tian remained silent the whole way, but she suddenly stopped.

"What are you angry about?" Lu Yiran teased her with a smile, and even poked her puffed-up cheek.

Zhen Tian was still sulking.

Ji Yuzhi looked at her with a puzzled expression.

Zhen Tian turned around and pounced on him, hugging him from head to toe.

Finally, she muttered to herself, "How annoying, how annoying. Only Zhizhi can hug me."

Lu Yiran's expression froze. Was his little sister really such a possessive person?

Ji Yuzhi also heard her soft mutterings. He smiled and accepted all of Zhen Tian's little actions, even holding her tightly when she finally pounced on him and bent his waist.

"Did that girl bump into you?" Zhen Tian still felt a tightness in her chest after the hug, and she really wanted to get angry.

"No." Ji Yuzhi patted the back of her head, pressed her little head, which was bobbing against his chest, to keep her from moving around.

"Ugh, so annoying!" Zhen Tian's upper body was tightly held by Ji Yuzhi, so her feet started to get restless, stomping her small feet in sneakers on the ground.

"Am I invisible?" Lu Yiran couldn't stand his little sister's coquettish behavior, but she wasn't being coquettish with him today. Anger and jealousy made him unable to hold back his words.

"Alright, sweetie." Ji Yuzhi patted her back like he was coaxing a child. "You still have to go back to class."

Zhen Tian pressed her face against Ji Yuzhi's school uniform, her voice muffled: "I don't want to go anymore."

"How can a little girl skip class?" Lu Yiran tugged at Zhen Tian's ponytail: "Get out of this brat's arms."

"Hmph." Zhen Tian glared at her brother as she raised her face.

"Hurry up and go, why are you glaring at me?" Lu Yiran touched the tip of his nose.

The two escorted Zhen Tian to the classroom door. Class had already started inside. Zhen Tian turned around and punched Ji Yuzhi hard: "You better watch yourself."

After saying that, he knocked on the door and, at the teacher's signal, went into the classroom without looking back.

Ji Yuzhi rubbed the spot where he had just been hit; it was both painful and itchy—the feeling was indescribable.

"Take that disgusting smile off your face." Lu Yiran punched Ji Yuzhi hard, and as expected, received a look of disgust in return.

After taking a few steps, Ji Yuzhi's smile gradually faded. Lu Yiran glanced at him and scoffed.

"Looks like someone's about to get cocky," he scoffed.

"What's there to be so smug about?" Ji Yuzhi slowly revealed a helpless smile: "It's still a long way from her coming to her senses."

"I don't think so." After all, the jealous look on his face was almost overflowing. Lu Yiran sighed and punched Ji Yuzhi twice in frustration: "You bastard."

"Watch your words, or people will think I've wronged you."

"Pah!" Lu Yiran kicked hard to the side, but Ji Yuzhi dodged it. "How did we end up having such a terrible relationship? What a mess."

...

When Ye Qingyan saw Zhen Tian return, she exclaimed, "What's going on?"

Zhen Tian didn't actually know either, but she guessed it from Zhizhi's words. She described the scene to Ye Qingyan: "That's how it happened."

"Oh, I see. He failed to win her over." Ye Qingyan nodded, repeating the same old trick: "But Ji Yuzhi is really amazing. He can even use physics formulas to deduce this fall. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a clever trick."

“I don’t understand it very well either, but I’m sure everything they say is correct,” Zhen Tian said firmly.

"That's true, after all, he's the top student in the whole province." Ye Qingyan clicked her tongue twice.

Just before school was about to end in the evening, the homeroom teacher walked in.

"I have some news to share. The school will be holding a three-day spring sports meet starting this Friday."

"Holy crap, is this for real?"

"Oh my god, does this mean we don't have to go to school anymore?"

The class erupted in cheers instantly, with people saying all sorts of things and whistling.

"Quiet!" Class teacher Yang slammed his hand on the table. "The sports committee member should compile a list of participants for each event in the next couple of days and submit the forms the day after tomorrow. During the sports meet, each class will march in a square formation, and each class needs to select someone to carry the class banner. Our class monitor will carry it."

"Teacher," Ye Qingyan raised her hand, "I don't want to raise my hand. I suggest we give this task to Zhen Tian."

Yang Tian glanced at Zhen Tian: "Alright, you can arrange it yourselves. I've already spoken to your PE teacher tomorrow, so you all need to practice your formation properly. If you embarrass yourselves, you'll see how I deal with you. School's out."

"Hey..." Zhen Tian watched the teacher's figure disappear, and hurriedly lowered her raised hand: "I wanted to refuse, why did she leave?"

"Why refuse?" Ye Qingyan patted her shoulder: "Do a good job, dress nicely, and let everyone know that Class 8 has a little princess."

"...I want to refuse."

"Refusal is invalid."

Zhen Tian has never had much of a say in things, so since the decision was already made, she had no choice but to follow everyone's wishes and train during physical education class.

Ye Qingyan seemed to be in a much better mood, and she even smiled happily when she was tallying up the registrations with the sports committee member.

But Zhen Tian knew she must still have something on her mind. She used to open and read the love letters that were delivered, but now she just throws them away.

The day of the sports meet arrived quickly.

The whole school was filled with a joyful atmosphere, and the students' faces no longer showed the bitter and resentful look caused by studying.

Zhen Tian stuffed a backpack full of snacks last night. Isn't the sports meet all about eating and watching performances?

Each class placed their belongings on their designated seats and then waited to perform their formation.

Each class's student holding the class banner is not required to wear a school uniform and must always stand at the front of the line. Looking around, it appears that most classes have chosen their prettiest girls, though it's possible that some classes have opted for special treatment and sent boys to hold the banners.

Since they weren't wearing school uniforms, they inevitably started showing off their style. The boys were pretty much all dressed in suits. But the girls were different. Some even came in formal dresses.

Zhen Tian clicked her tongue. She looked at herself in a white T-shirt, a light blue pleated skirt, and white sneakers. She couldn't compare to those people in formal dresses and high heels.

"I think I'm dressed too simply," Zhen Tian said, tugging at Ye Qingyan, embarrassed.

"It's alright. They're exaggerating. In terms of looks and figure, we're just as good. Don't panic, we'll outshine them." Ye Qingyan wasn't exaggerating; after all, Zhen Tian had practiced dance for many years, and her temperament was unmatched. Even in simple attire, she was like a lotus emerging from water, pure and beautiful.

“That’s right, Little Sweetie is definitely the prettiest. Don’t panic, your brother Yang has your back.” Yang Feiguang patted Zhen Tian’s shoulder casually.
