Chapter 7: Little Ringo Finds His Sister

Chapter 7: Little Ringo Finds His Sister

75.

After school, I returned to Wayne Manor humming a song, which was rare for me, and skipped all the way into the hall.

Ah Fu was arranging the flowers in the restaurant. He looked up and saw me, and raised his eyebrows slightly. "Miss, you seem to be in a particularly good mood today?"

Humph, although I haven't forgiven him for not telling me Bruce's secret, I am willing to answer his questions.

“I met my sister today!” I replied cheerfully. “She’s incredibly smart, beautiful, and super sweet!”

Helping me to besiege Bruce, how is that not considerate?

76.

Barbara Gordon.

She's smart, beautiful, quick-witted, and possesses technical skills that rival mine—and she's willing to help me take on Bruce!

From the first time I saw her, I knew that she was definitely not an ordinary elementary school student.

That afternoon at the coding club, we seemed to have found a soulmate. She swiftly threaded her way through my code, streamlining my long, complex logic into something fluent and elegant. I, in turn, studied diligently, exclaiming excitedly, "Barbara, you're amazing! You can even figure that out!"

She raised her eyebrows, a smug smile on her lips, "In the online world, logic is more interesting than it seems."

"You are indeed my sister!" I patted her shoulder excitedly.

She was stunned for a moment, then laughed out loud, "Sister? Where did you get that from?"

"You are a genius, I am a genius; you like to decipher codes, I like to break rules; we are simply a sister duo made in heaven!" I announced with confidence.

She held her forehead, obviously amused by my confidence, but did not refute.

77.

Return to the lobby.

Ah Fu was obviously a little surprised by the news. "Oh? Miss, do you have a new friend?"

I shook my head, my tone firm, "She's not a friend, she's a sister! She's smart, beautiful, caring, and super awesome!"

Ah Fu smiled. "It sounds like you think very highly of her. So, what's the name of your 'sister'?"

"Barbara Gordon!" I said proudly. "She even promised to... well, I won't tell you, but she'll do me a great favor."

Ah Fu was slightly startled, then he concealed it by lowering his head to arrange the flowers on the table. "It sounds like you have made a very good partner."

I narrowed my eyes and stared at him suspiciously, "Afu, do you know something?"

Ah Fu raised his head, his expression unchanged. "Miss, I know much more than you imagine, but I never interfere with secrets that do not belong to me."

"Hmph!" I shook my head and walked upstairs angrily. "Afu, you're just like Bruce, a hidden mushroom!"

Ah Fu looked at my back, a gentle smile flashed across his eyes, and he whispered to himself: "The girl from the Gordon family... is indeed a very special existence."

78.

At dinner, Bruce ate the steak made by Alfu while listening to me talk about Barbara's deeds with great enthusiasm.

"Dad! You'll never believe it! She's only in fourth grade, and she can understand the code I wrote! She even helped me optimize the firewall! Even college students can't match her level!"

Bruce put down his knife and fork and looked up at me, a glint of interest in his blue eyes. "It sounds like she is indeed very talented."

"Of course!" I waved my fork excitedly. "She's a genius among geniuses! And she's willing to help me crack your secret!"

Bruce's expression froze for a moment, then he regained his composure. "Oh? Did you succeed?"

I immediately lost my temper and poked the green beans on the plate. "Not yet... Your firewall is really too tricky!"

Bruce raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a meaningful smile, looking like a smug cat, "Maybe you should try harder."

I stared at his hateful smug face and swore in my heart: Bruce Wayne, just wait, Barbara and I will definitely find out your secret!

79.

From that day on, my after-school life became fulfilling and interesting.

Barbara and I became the "peerless duo" of the school's programming club. We modified code together, sparking inspiration through communication. Every day, we sailed in the ocean of code, step by step, approaching Bruce's secret firewall.

"This code is simply art." Barbara stared at the screen with a gleam in her eyes.

"What the hell is this art!" I raged. "This is clearly an insult to my intelligence!"

Barbara smiled and patted my shoulder. "Don't be discouraged. We will succeed soon."

Her confidence infected me, and I clenched my fists. "Yes! Bruce, just wait! Sooner or later, I will dig out all your secrets!"

I looked at the last line of defense set up by Bruce on the screen with a firm look in my eyes.

A few days ago, Barbara and I deliberately created the illusion in front of Bruce that we were only making progress every day, just to confuse him and make him think that we were 1+1=3. Yesterday's progress was only 86%. In fact, the combined ability of Barbara and I is far greater than 1+1=3. At this moment, we are only 1% away from cracking it!

"Sure enough, it's only a little bit tighter than yesterday." Barbara's eyes flashed with a strange light, and the excitement of cracking the code made her heart rate soar to 100.

I was also very excited. Bruce's long-hidden secret would be revealed to me today. "Based on the progress of the game, we are only 1% away from completing it!"

The two little girls hugged each other in joy, and the gathered whispers were enough to send anyone within three meters flying.

80.

"Uh, I'm going to the bathroom." Barbara stood up and trotted away.

I stared at the code on the screen in boredom, suppressing my excitement while muttering in my heart: "Why hasn't she come back yet?!"

Finally, more than ten minutes later, she quietly opened the door and walked in slowly.

My eyes lit up and I waved excitedly, "Barbara! You're finally back! I stayed still on purpose, waiting to reveal it with you!"

Her expression was a little strange, like she was hesitant and a little nervous.

Seeing Barbara's hesitant expression, my eyes widened. "Hey, you're my sister. I never joke around! Of course you can read this secret. There's nothing to be ashamed of."

"This is the result of our joint efforts, so of course we should taste it together." I pulled Barbara and pressed her into her seat.

She looked up at me, her eyes sparkling, and the corners of her mouth slowly curled up: "Okay!"

81.

We held our breath at the same time, our fingers rapidly tapping the keyboard, breaking through the last line of defense of Bruce's firewall.

“Done!”

The computer screen blurred for a moment, and then... I appeared.

I was floating in the room with my legs crossed, eating snacks and watching a movie with a very comfortable look on my face.

We two little girls were stunned.

My face turned red instantly and I opened my mouth but no sound came out.

Barbara tried to hold her laughter back for a second, but finally couldn't hold it back anymore and started laughing wildly with her hands covering her mouth.

“Hahahahahahaha…Leona…hahahahahaha!” She laughed so hard that tears came out of her eyes. She pointed at the screen and looked at me, “What kind of fabulous life is this!”

I slammed the table in shame and anger, trying to save face: "This is my private time! How could Bruce take a picture of me?"

82.

I stormed all the way back to Wayne Manor, barged into the living room, and pointed angrily at Bruce who was elegantly reading a newspaper.

"Bruce Wayne! Explain it to me! Why is your 'secret' the picture of me eating snacks in my room?!"

Bruce put down the newspaper and looked up at me with an innocent and harmless expression. "Oh? You mean my firewall?"

"Stop pretending!" I put my hands on my hips and glared at him angrily, "You actually took a secret photo of me! That's too much!"

Bruce's lips curled up slightly, revealing a sly smile: "Ringo, I didn't take any secret photos of you. This is the surveillance footage of your room... You hacked in yourself."

I was choked for a moment and stamped my feet angrily: "Then you can't deliberately use this picture to confuse me!"

Bruce shrugged calmly, "You broke into my firewall yourself. I didn't invite you to see it."

I was so angry that I was fuming. I reached out to pull out his newspaper and said, "Get up right there! You have to confront me today!"

Bruce dodged it easily, picked up the newspaper again to cover his face, and looked calm on the surface, but in his heart he was secretly wiping away a cold sweat: Fortunately, I had an idea yesterday and used this surveillance footage to disguise myself, otherwise I would really be exposed today!

Bruce secretly decided that he must upgrade the firewall again when he gets back - at least add three more logical circuits to completely cut off Leona and her "sister" Barbara's thoughts!

83.

Later, I learned from the little bats in the secret base that Bruce was secretly setting up a secret base by himself, and sneaking out every night to fight crime on the streets of Gotham.

Damn it! You didn't allow me to build a secret base, and you built it behind my back! Bruce, you're done!

Although I already knew Bruce's daily secrets and had big fights with him (filled with all kinds of NO! You shouldn't! You can't! No!), attacking his firewall has become a daily task for Barbara and me, which can promote our relationship and exchange information.

So we still kept the habit of attacking him after school instead of going home, but the location was changed to a separate classroom (funded by Wayne, everyone knows).

84.

"Barbara, tell me, is there any way to make Bruce realize his mistake?"

As I skillfully typed on the keyboard to crack Bruce's firewall, I looked at Barbara who was concentrating on modifying Bruce's firewall code and studying it line by line.

She raised her head, tilted it, and thought seriously for a moment: "You mean, he secretly built a secret base without your knowledge, and went out alone at night to fight criminals?"

Barbara was my chosen sister. She was very smart, and her family was simple, with her father being a police officer. I felt she would eventually join our family, so there was nothing wrong with it.

"Yeah!" I said angrily, "He clearly told me not to build a secret base before, saying it was too dangerous. But he built it himself and goes out adventuring every day!"

Barbara lowered her head and thought for a moment, then smiled wickedly: "Have you ever thought about dealing with him in his own way?"

"What do you mean?" I blinked in confusion.

"Haven't you cracked his firewall many times?" Barbara pointed at the screen. "We can try hacking into his secret base and let him experience firsthand what it's like to be attacked by his own people."

I was stunned for a moment, then my eyes lit up: "Barbara! You really are my sister! This is a great idea!"

She raised her chin proudly. "Of course. But you have to promise not to actually destroy his system. After all, he still needs it to ensure his safety."

"Don't worry, I just want him to know how ridiculous it is to do these things behind my back!" I raised the corner of my mouth and revealed a sly smile, "Besides... I'm not without a trick up my sleeve."

85.

After school that day, as usual, we huddled together in the separate classroom funded by Wayne, focusing on Bruce's firewall.

"We don't need to completely break in this time," Barbara said as she typed on the keyboard. "We just need to implant a small program into his system, and that will cause his secret base to 'mysteriously go out of control' for a few hours."

"Sounds cool." I nodded, my fingers working quickly. "However, I have a small request - can he play my recording at his base?"

Barbara stopped and turned to look at me with a complicated expression: "Your recording?"

"Yes, I want him to hear my voice every night when he goes in." I covered my mouth and laughed happily, my tone revealing a sense of pride, "This way he will understand that I am his closest family member."

Barbara couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Well, Leona, you win! That sounds so cool!"

86.

A few days later, Bruce suddenly heard a familiar voice in the secret base:

"Bruce Wayne! Do you know where you went wrong?!"

Then, all the devices in the secret base that could speak began to repeat this sentence, and the entire system screen instantly changed to a picture of me pointing at him, accompanied by eye-catching large words: "The great Miss Leona is watching over you!"

Bruce was silent for a long time, and finally sighed helplessly and rubbed his eyebrows.

Meanwhile, Barbara and I couldn't help but laugh at Bruce's reaction from the other side of the screen.

"Leona, his expression is so funny!" Barbara held her stomach and laughed so hard that she couldn't straighten her back.

"Who told him to set up this secret base behind my back?" I patted her shoulder proudly. "But this is just the first step. I want him to understand that family members should be honest with each other!"

Bruce: “…”
