Chapter 7 Pink Skeleton

There were layers of fallen leaves on the stone steps of the temple, and the sound of broken leaves could be heard when footsteps landed on them. Honglian walked very carefully, one step at a time. She kept looking around. It was so quiet here, so quiet that it was even a little scary.

Apart from the footsteps of her and Xue Kong, there was only the rustling of leaves blown by the wind, and the chirping of insects, birds and animals.

As for the temple on the mountain, no sound was heard from it.

"What was his intention in tricking me into this desolate place? Was he jealous that I could participate in the Fairy Lady's Dharma Assembly while he didn't have the blessing to practice cultivation, and was feeling resentful, so he was waiting for an opportunity to take revenge..." Honglian bit her lower lip tightly with her pearly teeth.

"Unless it's absolutely necessary, we can't break off relations with him. Otherwise, in this deserted place, there's no guarantee he won't do something beastly."

No matter how stupid she was, she could realize at this moment that Xue Kong's words of worship and prayer were simply lies. He had deliberately lowered his posture before just to make her careless and fall into his trap.

There is no human habitation here and the temple on the mountain is abandoned.

She felt extremely regretful. She shouldn't have had such good intentions and agreed to come here because of Xue Kong's parents' life-saving grace. Otherwise, she wouldn't have suffered such a misfortune.

At the moment, I can only hope that Xue Kong will be afraid of his father's status and strength and dare not take excessive actions.

Xue Kong didn't have as many thoughts as Honglian. He just stared at Honglian's back, not letting her escape. In his sight, Honglian's hands holding the wooden basket were trembling slightly. He didn't care whether Honglian noticed anything or not. Ever since she got on the carriage and came here with him, Honglian's fate was already doomed.

The two walked up one stone step after another in silence, and finally stopped in front of the temple on the mountain.

"Master Xue, this temple has dilapidated doors and windows, is crumbling, and is covered in dust. It doesn't look like a place of great worship. Did we come to the wrong place?"

Honglian turned around, suppressed her inner fear, and tried her best to speak normally as usual. She didn't even realize that the respect in her words was much higher than usual.

But she found that Xue Kong just looked at her coldly without saying anything.

Facing that cold gaze, Honglian's heart skipped a beat and she thought to herself that something was wrong.

"Last night, my father reminded me to go to bed early and get up early to save energy for the Fairy Lady's Dharma Assembly. I haven't seen my father today, and he will look for me. Third Young Master Xue, since we can't worship and pray here, I think we should go back first."

Honglian bravely put forward suggestions. Even though Xue Kong did not respond, she continued to talk to herself, hoping to borrow her father's power to make Xue Kong afraid and not dare to act recklessly.

However, the next second, Xue Kong reached into his arms and pulled out a four-inch-long dagger. Honglian was so frightened that the wooden basket in her hand fell to the ground with a clang. Her pretty face lost its color visibly and she screamed and tried to run away.

The cold, sharp dagger suddenly pressed against Honglian's snow-white neck, shocking her so much that she froze in place, tears streaming down her face as she sobbed, "Master Xue, why…"

"Enter the temple." Xue Kong responded calmly.

Honglian did not dare to resist. Her feeling towards Xue Kong changed greatly. This was no longer the timid third son of the Xue family. If she made any unusual movement at this moment, the dagger on her neck would cut her delicate skin and sever her blood vessels. Honglian was convinced of this.

With her body trembling, Honglian pushed open the temple door under Xue Kong's control. The creaking sound echoed in the empty temple, and dust scattered like a fog.

In the past, Honglian would have sneered and turned away.

But now, she could only endure the filth and walk into the temple.

Bang.

The dilapidated gate of the temple was closed by Xue Kong.

As soon as she entered the temple, Honglian knew that at this moment she could only save herself.

He hardened his heart and immediately turned around and threatened: "Xue Kong! My father is your Xue family steward. If you kill me, not only will my father not let you go, but the Xue family will also not turn against my father just because you are not favored!"

"In the Xue family today, my father is still the one with the highest cultivation level. Don't forget that!"

"Take off your clothes." Xue Kong ignored Honglian's threat and just spoke calmly. However, these words made Honglian's face startled. She suddenly opened her eyes wide and her pupils shrank suddenly.

"You shameless little thief, I didn't realize before that you are such a shameless person!!" Honglian cursed, and the anger in her heart suddenly overwhelmed her fear.

She glared at Xue Kong and screamed, "If you're willing to let me go, I'll become a disciple of the Three Immortals Sect tomorrow and I'll plead with the Fairy Lady to get you a place in the Three Immortals Sect. Otherwise, even to the ends of the earth, my father will hunt you down and grind you to dust."

"You are wrong." Xue Kong shook his head.

"What?"

Xue Kong looked at Honglian expressionlessly: "I'm not attracted by your beauty. No matter how beautiful your skin is, it's just a skeleton. After a hundred years, you will return to dust. In my eyes, you are no different from an animal."

"You!" Honglian's face twisted and twitched with anger. "How dare you compare me to a beast!?"

"You are inferior to animals. You are the stepping stone for me to return to the path of cultivation."

Xue Kong’s words almost drove Honglian crazy. Although she didn’t understand what Xue Kong said, she could understand its literal meaning. Returning to the path of cultivation, doesn’t that mean she has already practiced?

Could it be that Xue Kong was once a cultivator?

impossible!

Honglian didn't dare to think so. She had followed Xue Kong since she was a child. No one knew him better than her, and no one knew Xue Kong's daily schedule better than her. There was no way he could be a cultivator.

Just when Honglian was confused, Xue Kong suddenly grabbed her chest with his big hand and pulled off her shirt, leaving only a red bellyband with lotus print, covering the small pink part of her chest.
