Chapter 1 The Girl Carrying a Pig

Qingyun Sect is located on Qingyun Mountain in Pengcheng, Zhangzhou. Qingyun Mountain stretches for thousands of miles, and the surrounding area is the sphere of influence of Qingyun Sect.

There are large tracts of spiritual fields distributed in the mountains outside Qingyun SD. The hillsides are surrounded by fences and are filled with cattle and sheep.

It was early morning, and dewdrops were dancing on the tips of the green grass on the hillside. A young man in gray was riding a big black ox, holding a green bamboo flute to his lips. The melodious music filled the air, and the cattle and sheep on the hillside ate even more happily.

"Brother Erniu!"

The sound of the flute stopped abruptly, and the boy turned around and smiled at the source of the sound. The sunlight shone on his cheek, making his smile seem even warmer.

"Little Laizi, are you selling pigs again?"

On the hillside, a thin little girl was carrying two big fat pigs weighing about 800 pounds on her back. She was hunched over and walking towards Erniu at a brisk pace.

Two fat pigs were tied to a wooden frame, and the frame was placed on the little girl's back. It felt like her small body was in danger of being crushed at any time.

"Yes, I'll make you some blood sausage and pig intestines to eat when I come tonight. Brother Erniu, don't forget to go to the pigpen and play a couple of tunes for me. After hearing your tunes, the pigs will be more willing to eat!"

"Okay, don't worry, I won't leave your pig behind."

"Haha~ Brother Erniu is just great. I'm leaving now, Brother Erniu."

"Well, be careful on the road, go early and come back early." Erniu instructed.

The little girl is called Lai Siyu, she is twelve years old this year. When she was eight years old, she was picked up by an old man named Gu and brought to Qingyun Sect. Since then, she has followed the old man to raise pigs and farm, and practice in her spare time.

Lai Siyu practiced with the old man for four years and barely reached the second level of Qi training. The old man said that her aptitude was not good and it would be better for her to concentrate on doing more physical work.

Lai Siyu walked down the mountain carrying the pig on his back. At this time, there were already many disciples working in the spiritual field.

"Look, Senior Sister, that ugly girl who always pesters Brother Erniu is selling pigs again!"

"Zhao Cui'er, Erniu just talked to her for a long time with a smile on his face."

Zhao Cui liked Erniu, and that was something all the chores knew, but Erniu never treated her well. None of the girls liked pig farmer Lai Siyu very much, so they were looking forward to seeing her make a fool of herself.

"Hmph! Selling a pig? I'm going to fail her today. Just wait and see." Zhao Cui'er gritted her teeth, her eyes almost spitting fire as she looked at Lai Siyu.

In several adjacent spiritual valley fields on the roadside, several girls around sixteen or seventeen years old looked at Lai Siyu with disdain as she was getting closer and closer to them, wondering what Brother Erniu liked about this girl, who was ugly and smelled of pig manure.

When Lai Siyu approached, Zhao Cui swung the hoe in her hand across the road, tripping Lai Siyu's foot and causing her to fall straight out.

"Hahaha~haha~ look at this guy who walks without paying attention, he fell flat on his face..."

"Yes, look at her. Even after falling like that, she's still protecting the two pigs on her back. Hey! Ugly girl, are those two fat pigs your lovers? You take such good care of them..."

When the girls saw Lai Siyu's embarrassing look, they all held their stomachs and laughed. The other disciples who were working in the spiritual field also looked over when they heard the noise. For a moment, laughter broke out in the spiritual field.

Lai Siyu silently got up and patted the two fat pigs that were screaming and struggling behind her, calming them down. Then she turned to Zhao Cui and said, "Sister, are you trying to stop me to save your husbands? No way. They are too fat, I'm afraid you can't handle them. When I come back to the pigpen, I'll pick out two thinner and more suitable husbands for you!"

After saying this, Lai Siyu walked away without looking back, leaving behind the furious Zhao Cui and others and the whole countryside filled with laughter.

Humph! You look like everyone can make a joke!

Lai Siyu was not afraid that these people would rush over to attack her. No one would care if they tripped her up in private, but private fighting was not allowed in the Qingyun Sect.

The market town was built on a flat land beside Qingyun Mountain, a little far from Qingyun Sect. Most of the disciples of Qingyun Sect went to the market town by riding on a paper crane made of talismans, which took about half an hour to reach the market town.

Lai Siyu didn't have talismans or paper cranes, but her speed was faster than the ox carts of the mortals down the mountain. It only took her an hour to jog all the way to the market.

Lai Siyu carrying the pigs on her back was a unique sight along the way. Many mortals couldn't help but praise her when they saw her like this, and thought that Qingyun Sect was awesome. Look at their menial disciple, who could carry two fat pigs and still run like the wind.

After entering the market, Lai Siyu went straight to Liuji Meat Shop, which was the largest meat shop in the market of Qingyun Town. Liu Mingyuan, the brother of Liu the Butcher, was an outer disciple of Qingyun Sect. He usually took good care of Lai Siyu, so Lai Siyu always carried the spirit pigs she raised to Liuji Meat Shop to sell them.

Of course, the price Butcher Liu gave her was also the most fair.

"Uncle Liu, the pigs are here!" Lai Siyu shouted to the butcher Liu who was chopping meat.

But the way I yelled this seems a little wrong...

"Hey, Xiao Laizi is here! Hurry up and unload the pig first." Butcher Liu turned around and shouted into the yard, "Da Zhuang, quickly open the door for Xiao Laizi."

"Hey, Boss Liu, whose girl is this? She's so strong. These two pigs must weigh at least 1,600 to 1,700 kilograms, right?" The aunt who bought the meat looked at Lai Siyu as if she were a monster, pointed at her and asked.

"Aunt Liu, didn't you see the Qingyun Sect clothes she was wearing? Here, your pound of minced meat is ready..."

"I didn't notice them, I only saw two fat pigs. Ah, so they are disciples of Qingyun Sect. No wonder. Learning immortal magic makes you strong..."

Auntie, what's that look in your eyes?

Butcher Liu sent the guests away, leaving only one assistant to look after the shop, and went to the backyard with his fat body.

Liu Dazhuang had already helped Lai Siyu unload the pig and was waiting for his father to come and weigh it.

"Little Laizi, these two pigs weigh a total of 1,692 kilograms. At ten spirit beads per kilogram, that's a total of 169 low-grade spirit stones and 20 spirit beads. Keep them."

After Butcher Liu finished weighing, he immediately gave the spirit stones to Lai Siyu. Lai Siyu put the spirit stones into the storage bag and kept it close to his body.

"Uncle Liu, did you slaughter the pig this morning?" Lai Siyu asked with a smile.

"Killed it! Knowing you'd be back today, I saved this pig for today. I've packed up the blood, offal, and everything else for you, and I've even kept the head." Butcher Liu turned to Da Zhuang and called out, "Da Zhuang, quickly bring over the things for your sister Si Yu."

Liu Dazhuang had already tied up the pig's head, cleaned pig offal and the pottery jar containing blood with hemp rope. When he heard Liu the Butcher's shout, he immediately tied these things to the wooden frame that Lai Siyu used to carry the pig.
