(28) Epilogue

(28) Epilogue

After bidding farewell to the cold winter, it was as if there was no transition, and directly ushered in the hot summer. Xiao Wen Ning woke up early in the morning and saw Han Yao packing his luggage. He slowly crawled to Han Yao's side, put his arms around his waist, looked up and asked, "Where are you going?"

Han Yao ruffled his hair: "Didn't you say you wanted to go out and play?"

Xiao Wen Ning blinked twice: "Where to go..."

Han Yao raised an eyebrow: "Forgot?"

Xiao Wen Ning thought about it for a moment, then grinned: "I haven't forgotten. Are we going today?"

"Yeah, today."

In the hot summer, the whole small town is lush and green. The ancient buildings have taken off their winter clothes, and the mottled walls are covered with vibrant green leaves and thorny roses. Walking through a doorway, you can see a clear lake.

The familiar central square is still very lively, celebrating different festivals in different seasons.

Xiao Wen Ning held Han Yao's hand as they walked together. "Is today the Flower Festival here?"

Han Yao looked at the parade team on the street and nodded: "Yeah."

Parades in grand costumes, singing and dancing with flowers, and ancient music with exotic flavor fill the streets with fragrance.

The two chatted casually as they followed the parade. When they passed an ancient and solemn building, Han Yao pulled Xiao Wen Ning to stop. Xiao Wen Ning looked up at him, with stars in his eyes.

Han Yao looked at him with a smile on his face.

Ten minutes later, Xiao Wen Ning couldn't stand any longer. He reached into Han Yao's pocket and rummaged around. Han Yao held the box tightly in his hand and refused to let go. Not only did Xiao Wen Ning not snatch it away, but he also pulled it into his arms. Han Yao pinched his ear and laughed heartily: "What are you doing?"

Xiao Wen Ning was still trying to pry his fingers apart. He rubbed Han Yao's shoulder with a wronged look, "Give it to me."

Han Yao asked knowingly, "What?"

Master Xiao said anxiously: "The ring."

Han Yao was so amused by his appearance that his eyes curved with laughter. He took out the box in his hand and asked Xiao Wen Ning to stand properly.

The front of the old church was covered with flower petals.

Han Yao kissed his forehead, then knelt on one knee and said in a natural and casual tone, "Let's get married."

Xiao Wen Ning grinned, his eyes and eyebrows dancing like his. Although his voice was a little choked, he still answered happily, "Okay."

The church bells suddenly rang out, their ethereal beauty touching their hearts, as if wishing them a smooth and healthy future, or as if blessing and echoing Xiao Wenning's previous wish. They put rings on each other's fingers and kissed passionately.

Looking back, there are flowers all along the way, and the future will be full of happiness.
