Chapter 3 He Just Wants to Be Alone

Chapter 3 He Just Wants to Be Alone

Jiu was "invited" back to the solitary confinement room again, with grievance and confusion written all over his little face.

"Master is so hard to please," she complained to the shivering little spider in the corner. "I cleaned the water for him out of kindness, but he got angry. This water tank is like your intestines, it needs to be cleaned regularly. Otherwise, if it accumulates dirt, what if you get sick from drinking it?"

Little Spider: "..." (I'm just passing by, don't talk to me, I'm afraid of being affected by your "kindness").

Inside the Imperial Master's Mansion, there was chaos.

At Chu Xuanyi's command, all the water tanks within the mansion, regardless of size, old or new, were quickly removed, smashed, and buried. New water tanks were brought in at the fastest possible speed, and Chu Xuanyi personally assigned three "absolutely sane" servants to take turns guarding them, forbidding anyone from approaching, especially the little fortune teller with the inherent "biochemical weapon" attribute.

After working hard for most of the day, Chu Xuanyi finally drank a sip of clear water without any "surprises" and felt like he was alive again.

He sat in his study, watching the dusk deepen outside the window, and began to seriously ponder a question: How on earth had Ah Jiu managed to survive in the observatory until now? Did the people in the observatory all have iron stomachs and indestructible nerves?

"Sir," Lin Feng walked in cautiously, holding a letter in his hand, "The old god of the observatory... uh, the old master, has sent someone to deliver a letter."

Chu Xuanyi perked up and sat up straight: "Present it!"

He wanted to see how the old charlatan would explain this "big treasure" he had given him!

The letter was sealed with the observatory's unique star-patterned sealing wax. Chu Xuanyi opened it and scanned it quickly.

In the letter, the old abbot began by effusively praising Ah Jiu's unprecedented talent, his ability to discern the mysteries of the universe and avoid danger. Then, in a subtle tone that Chu Xuanyi could see through, he said: Ah Jiu's mind... well, can be a little "out of the blue" at times, and his way of looking at things is "unique." He hoped that the Imperial Master would "give him more guidance" and "teach him according to his aptitude."

At the end of the letter, the old abbot added, "This girl is a lucky star sent from heaven. Although she may encounter minor disasters, she will eventually overcome them and bring unexpected help to you, my Lord. Remember, remember, let nature take its course and don't force anything."

Chu Xuanyi: "..."

"Unexpected help?" He practically squeezed out the words through his teeth. Yeah, it was totally unexpected! Almost poisoning him to death, does that count as help? Turning his plans upside down, does that count as help?

"Let it be? Don't force it?" Chu Xuanyi sneered. He just wanted to pack up this girl and send her back to the observatory, and let them "let it be"!

Just then, there was a sudden noise outside.

"What's going on?" Chu Xuanyi frowned.

A guard rushed in in a panic, "Sir! This is bad! Miss Jiu... Miss Jiu, she's... she's torn down the wall of the confinement room!"

Chu Xuanyi: “!!!”

He stood up suddenly and walked quickly towards the confinement room. Lin Feng followed closely behind him, his face no longer wanting to smile, but rather a look of genuine fear. This Miss Jiu, her destructive power is too astonishing!

When they arrived, they saw that in one of the walls of the solitary confinement room where Jiu was supposed to be imprisoned, there was a huge human-shaped hole!

The edges of the cave entrance were jagged, with bricks and stones scattered all over the ground.

Ah Jiu, patting the dust off her hands, stood at the entrance of the cave with an innocent look on her face, with a few bricks she had "torn down" piled next to her.

"Ajiu!" Chu Xuanyi felt his blood pressure start to soar again, "What are you doing?!"

Ah Jiu blinked his big eyes and said confidently, "Sir, you asked me to copy the 'Calming Mantra', but the room is too stuffy and the light is not good. I can hardly see clearly. I thought, I should open a window to let in some fresh air and light, so that I can concentrate better on copying!"

Chu Xuanyi pointed at the large human-shaped hole, his voice trembling: "This... is a window?"

"Yeah!" Ah Jiu nodded, gesturing rather proudly. "Look, I opened it specifically to suit my body shape. This way the size is just right, the wind isn't too strong, and there's plenty of light! Isn't that smart?"

Chu Xuanyi’s eyes went dark and he almost suffocated.

She calls this opening a window?! She's violently demolishing the house!

"Sir, please don't be angry." Seeing Chu Xuanyi's face turn pale, Ajiu carefully pulled his sleeve. "I'm doing this to better complete the task you assigned me! Besides, I've calculated that this wall is not load-bearing, so it won't matter if we demolish it! Look, the house didn't collapse!"

Chu Xuanyi felt his head buzzing, as if ten thousand bees were holding a concert inside.

He finally understood what the old monk meant by "occasionally there are minor tribulations" in his letter! This was no minor tribulation at all; it was clearly a series of tribulations, each one more severe than the last!

"Lin Feng..." Chu Xuanyi's voice was calm with a hint of despair.

"I'm here..." Lin Feng's voice was a little weak.

"Go, bring the old master of the observatory... no, invite his entire observatory over to me! I want them to see with their own eyes how their 'lucky star from heaven' can bring me good fortune and avoid disaster!"

He felt that if this continued, he would either be angered to death by Ah Jiu or tortured to death by her!

Ah Jiu was still trying to take credit for it: "Sir, look at the windows I opened. Aren't they more creative than those in the Ministry of Works? How about letting me open all the windows in the mansion from now on? I promise to open them quickly, well, and save materials!"

Chu Xuanyi staggered and almost fell.

He just wants to be quiet now.

Don’t ask him who Jingjing is, he just wants to be alone!

Chu Xuanyi sent someone to deliver a letter to the old abbot at full speed. The letter was extremely "earnest" in wording but full of tearful accusations, and "strongly suggested" that the old abbot come to the National Master's Mansion in person to discuss the issue of "training and placement" of the "lucky star from heaven".

During the days of waiting for the old abbot's arrival, the entire Imperial Master's Mansion was plunged into an unprecedented weird atmosphere.

Because of her "merit in opening the window" (as she thought), Ah Jiu was temporarily exempted from confinement. However, Chu Xuanyi strictly ordered that no one was allowed to let Ah Jiu near the study, kitchen, or any area where important items were stored or related to "water" unless he summoned her.
