Chapter 186 Not a Good Person
Xie Chengyan picked up Ye Lanzhou horizontally and took her to the clean room next door to clean herself. Ye Lanzhou was exhausted and leaned on Xie Chengyan's arms.
The bathroom was hot and humid, and the mist covered Ye Lanzhou's eyes, making it difficult for her to see the scene in front of her. Ye Lanzhou sat on the edge of the bathtub with her back to him, her long black hair sticking wetly to her snow-white back.
Xie Chengyan stood behind her, curled up a strand of hair between his fingertips, and slowly played with it between his fingers.
Ye Lanzhou paused for a moment, did not avoid his touch, and let the strand of hair wander between his fingers.
His voice was low, and then he placed his palm on the back of her neck, sliding it slowly down the curve of her spine, stirring up a small shudder.
Ye Lanzhou tilted her head slightly and glimpsed the wound on his chest. The gauze bandage he had just bandaged had been ripped open by him because it was stained with dirt. The blood-red flesh was exposed to the water vapor, and the blood was faintly blurred. She frowned and raised her hand to hold his wrist, "Don't let the wound get wet."
Xie Chengyan chuckled, then clasped her fingers and took her hand with him into the water: "Then help me."
The water swayed, forcing her fingertips to touch his skin. The heat was transmitted through the water, burning the tips of her ears slightly red. His breath was close to her ear, carrying a moist warmth.
He lowered his eyes to look at her, and after a while, he asked, "Why didn't you ask me what I was doing in Southern Xinjiang? How did you get hurt?"
Ye Lanzhou paused. She was a person who held grudges. When Xie Chengyan asked her this, she immediately remembered the time when she had guessed what Xie Chengyan was thinking and he had grabbed her neck.
The suffocating feeling still seemed to be in my throat.
"I'm afraid the prince will kill me."
She raised her eyes slightly, and her usually cold eyes were suddenly tinged with a hint of color.
Xie Chengyan's Adam's apple rolled, as if he was mesmerized by this beauty, or perhaps he was thinking. Ye Lanzhou felt uncomfortable under this burning gaze and deliberately avoided his gaze, but she could still see his Adam's apple rolling in her peripheral vision, and the shallow mark on his collarbone where she had bitten him.
Xie Chengyan suddenly grabbed her wrist. Ye Lanzhou lowered her eyes and took a look. She had stabbed him before, and there was a red dot of medium size on the base of his thumb.
"That was in the past. If there is such a day again..." Xie Chengyan paused, stroking her slender wrist with his fingertips, and put her fingertips against his throat. He said in a hoarse voice: "Just insert your silver needle here."
The Adam's apple rolled under his fingertips, and the skin on Xie Chengyan's throat felt slightly warm. Ye Lanzhou's mind was full of his words. At this moment, he tilted his forehead slightly, exposing his most vulnerable neck.
If Ye Lanzhou really had a silver needle in his hand, the bathroom should be full of blood by now.
Xie Chengyan leaned in closer, his arms resting on the edge of the tub, trapping her in his tight confines. The hot air he exhaled hit Ye Lanzhou, sending a wave of damp heat through her. His Adam's apple rolled, and he spoke after a moment's struggle, "If I decided to betray my country, what would you think of me?"
Ye Lanzhou was not shocked to hear this. He had said long ago that he did not mind cooperating with Southern Xinjiang. At that time, he was still doubting the truth of his words, but now it seems that his words must be true. The only question is why did he suddenly have such an idea?
And, was he...was he testing her?
A person who has been in the court for a long time would actually ask her opinion?
Ye Lanzhou previously thought that he was wholeheartedly working for the Yin Kingdom, but later discovered that he was ultimately doing it for himself.
Just like he said, he is not a good person.
