Chapter 475 The Temple in the Darkness

Chapter 475 The Temple in the Darkness

It was a fleeting glimpse, occurring in a moment barely perceptible to humans. Yu Sheng's mind passed through the chaotic black fog, and in that fraction of a second, he witnessed certain scenes coming from beyond the distant borders. But even with such a quick glimpse, that scene was still deeply imprinted in his cognition like some kind of burning brand, and the vast amount of information it contained roared through his mind like a storm.

Yu Sheng even suspected that he had died again at that moment, but for some strange reason, even he himself was not aware of this death and resurrection.

Then, he quickly crossed a "critical layer" and continued to fall into the depths of the biting and cold black fog.

"Bang", the illusory sound of impact echoed in his soul, he stopped suddenly and realized that he seemed to have hit something.

The surrounding black fog receded slightly, and a chaotic light appeared from the distance, reflecting some huge outlines.

Yu Sheng saw huge pillars arranged in an orderly manner appearing in the fog. Each pillar stood tall and majestic like a tower. He saw mottled and old stone slabs under his feet. Every crack on the stone slabs seemed to be soaked in thousands of years. There was a huge temple standing at the end of the pillars, lying quietly in the darkness like a tomb.

Is this the end of the black fog? What does the bottom layer of the mirror look like?

This thought subconsciously popped up in Yu Sheng's mind as he fell all the way from "above", but he shook his head almost instantly.

The black fog was still swirling farther away, and the connection between the fog and the ground seemed to be a broken spatial structure - this was not the "end", but seemed to be just another dimension connected to the mirror.

He looked up and around, but did not see Yuan Hao.

Then he stretched his hand into the air, trying to outline the outline of a door.

The illusory door appeared smoothly, but when he opened it slightly, he saw only darkness on the other side, instead of the scenery of the destination as usual.

Yu Sheng's movement to open the door froze for a moment.

He was not unfamiliar with the situation of failing to open the door. When he first tried to enter the Black Forest directly from the real world, he encountered the situation of the door collapsing. But this time the situation was even more wrong - the door did not collapse. He even clearly felt that a passage had been established. This door led to somewhere, but... that was not the coordinate he left behind.

There seemed to be something hidden in the empty darkness, silently tempting him.

Yu Sheng slammed the door shut.

Then he stood there, calmed himself down, and after calming down, he cautiously opened the second door.

Outside the second door was an exceptionally thick-looking wall, stained and mottled with dirt. Distant and indistinct noises could be heard faintly from both sides.

He opened the third door and saw a strange and dead city standing in the dusk. There was no sun in the sky, only endless rays of light. The city seemed to have been abandoned for a long time, with dark towers and huge steam engines collapsed and piled up like tombs.

These are not the coordinates he injected when he opened the door!

Yu Sheng quickly closed the door and took a deep breath.

What is this darkness all about?

The door... seemed to still be usable, but it led to a strange and unfamiliar destination every time, as if the coordinates he had recorded outside had been mismapped in the darkness, and all the locations pointed to by the coordinates had been replaced.

A trace of tension and uneasiness rose from the bottom of his heart. Yu Sheng calmed himself down and after a moment of consideration, he realized that staying where he was was not a good idea, so he walked towards the "temple" in front.

As he walked, he paid close attention to his surroundings, comparing the neatly arranged pillars and the temple buildings in the distance with the scenes he had seen in his memory.

After a simple judgment, he thought that these pillars and temples should be the ruins he had seen in the mirror illusion before, and also the place Yuan Hao saw in the depths of the Black Star.

But the pillars before him did not collapse or break as shown in the illusion, and the temple in the distance was not in ruins - although everything here looked mottled and old after being etched by time, everything was intact.

...Is this what the ruins looked like before they collapsed?

Some kind of "historical memory"?

All kinds of speculations arose in Yu Sheng's mind, and at this moment, he suddenly noticed that the black mist was flowing around him.

The next moment, the flowing black mist condensed beside him and transformed into an illusory shadow - it was a distorted human figure, curled up and kneeling on the mottled stone road, crawling towards the direction of the temple, like a devout and fearful believer.

Before Sheng could react, the figure disappeared again, and the surrounding fog became more and more agitated, and then turned into more kneeling figures in the rapid flow.

Almost in the blink of an eye, countless pious kneeling illusions appeared on the stone floor in front of the temple. Countless illusory human outlines appeared and disappeared, as if countless souls continued to pour in, worshiping and praying to this temple that exuded an ominous and terrifying atmosphere. The black fog gradually became like a strong wind, rolling and surging in silence. Millions of illusions flowed and emerged in the darkness, and circulated madly on the surrounding stone floor like a chaotic record that was fast-forwarded and reversed at the same time!

This strange and chaotic scene frightened Yu Sheng instantly. He screamed "Oh shit" and realized that something was wrong with the temple. But just when he wanted to turn around and leave, countless layers of whispers came from between those pious illusions, buzzing as if to drill through his brain. The whispers seemed to have no rationality or logic at all, and the chaos was like noise, giving him a splitting headache!

But suddenly, he heard a few sentences from the pure noise - as if an extremely strong obsession was directly imprinted in the noise, echoing over and over in his mind.

“He is feared…

“He is exalted…

“Be praised;

“Cursed;

“Be embraced;

“Being resisted;

"Our doom, the doom of all things...

"Take us away and reap us before the end!

"That cursed and feared thing, that terrible and merciful... omen..."

"boom!!!"

An illusory roar exploded in Yu Sheng's mind, as if the noise imprinted with huge information gathered into a thunder in his consciousness. He suddenly felt dizzy in the frantic prayers, and felt his mind flying straight to the dark temple that exuded endless cold and ominous atmosphere, "falling" rapidly as if rushing into an abyss!

“What the hell?!”

Yu Sheng cried out in surprise. The sudden warning in his mind made him realize that falling into the "temple" would definitely not be a good thing, so he immediately struggled. He tried his best to regain his balance, to stabilize his mind, and hurriedly grabbed a nearby pillar. In the terrifying "suction" that acted on his body and mind at the same time, he tried his best to fight against the temple, as if he was trying to tear himself out of a crusher that was already running.

This difficult and seemingly hopeless confrontation lasted for an unknown amount of time. Yu Sheng felt as if his soul was being torn apart bit by bit. He even felt that part of his mind had been sucked into the temple and was being slowly devoured by a huge thing that was a fusion of nightmarish limbs and symbols of pure malice. The originally familiar cold aura had turned into pure and blind intention of destruction and ruin - and it was at this moment that he saw something else suddenly appear in the dark fog.

That's black spider silk.

Before he could react, dense black spider silk had already passed through the thick fog and wrapped around Yu Sheng the next second. Another familiar cold breath wrapped him layer by layer as if it had pierced through his bones, followed by a powerful pulling force.

The spider silk was desperately pulling Yu Sheng away from the temple.

Noises came from all directions, and familiar voices gradually emerged from the countless layers of chaotic whispers. Yu Sheng felt his mind gradually escape from the dangerous darkness. He began to "float" in the black fog, and then he finally heard those familiar voices - Irene was screaming: "...Yu Sheng, you were fine, how come you are brain dead again? I told you not to be distracted so often. You will kill yourself if you are in a daze. Don't you know that? Hey, where did you fall? Why is it so difficult to pull it this time? You are so heavy. What's the matter with your mind? It's easy for me to pull an ordinary person. Pulling you and pulling the mountain. Hey, I bit my tongue... Why do I bite my tongue when talking in a mental connection?!"

Yu Sheng was stunned by what he heard. He quickly took advantage of the opportunity to regain self-control and cooperate with Irene, accelerating towards the top of the black fog and getting away. Then, almost in an instant, he felt the five senses of the real world return to his body.

He suddenly opened his eyes and saw that the dark ripples were rapidly shrinking from the surrounding walls back into the mirror, and then dissipating from the mirror - in the blink of an eye, everything returned to normal.

Everything was normal in the empty room. The lonely mirror was reflecting the scenery inside the room. He and Yuan Hao stood in front of the mirror. He was still in the posture of reaching out to touch the mirror, while Yuan Hao stood there motionless.

From this scene, it seemed like only a moment had passed. He reached out and touched the mirror, fell into darkness, and then Irene instantly pulled him back to the real world.

But Yu Sheng felt as if he had been sinking in that darkness for a long time.

Just like Yuan Hao wandered aimlessly in the depths of that "black star" for a long time.

The next second, the sound of running could be heard in the corridor outside. The three Irenes who stayed at home crowded to the door, shouting in unison: "Hey, Yusheng, are you okay? Are you awake? Are you alive?"

"Uh, I'm fine..."

Yu Sheng replied subconsciously, and Yuan Hao next to him suddenly blinked, then turned his head with some confusion.

The old man looked at the three puppets at the door, then looked at Yu Sheng, who seemed to be in a daze for a moment. He seemed to have noticed something, raised his hand and calculated briefly, then frowned: "Where did you go just now?"
