Chapter 395: Qingji's Memories

Shuang'er said obediently: "Okay~".

Shuang'er's mother went to the kitchen. Shuang'er sat beside the bed and looked at the sleeping Qingji. Qingji was sleeping so soundly that he had no idea where he was, nor did he realize that there was someone next to him. Qingji slept like this for a day and a night.

Shuang'er asked her mother, "Mom, is he dead? Why hasn't he woken up yet?" Shuang'er's mother said to Shuang'er, "Don't talk nonsense, he may just be too tired." Shuang'er said "Oh" and went to the yard to pick wild vegetables with a basket full of wild vegetables.

Shuang'er's mother wiped Qingji's face with a wet cloth and sighed in her heart: "This child is also a miserable child."

After Shuang'er finished picking the wild vegetables, her mother went to cook. Shuang'er continued to watch over Qingji. Qingji slowly opened his eyes and saw a pretty little girl in front of him. Shuang'er saw Qingji was awake and asked, "You're awake? Are you waiting for me to call my mother?"

"Mother, mother, the child is awake." Shuang'er ran to the stove while shouting. When Shuang'er's mother heard Shuang'er say that the child was awake, she quickly got up and went to the thatched house. Shuang'er's mother poured a bowl of water and handed it to Qingji, asking: "You are awake, do you still feel uncomfortable?"

After taking the water, Qingji shook his head. After drinking a bowl of water, Qingji said hoarsely, "Thank you." Shuang'er's mother smiled and said, "You're welcome. Let Shuang'er stay with you for a while. I'll cook first." Then she went back to the stove. Qingji looked around the thatched hut and found that there was nothing else in it except a bed and a table.

Shuang'er saw Qingji looking around at his thatched cottage and said, "We are poor and have nothing. Don't mind it." Qingji shook his head and said in a hoarse voice, "No, your home is great." Shuang'er smiled sweetly when she heard Qingji say that her home was great, "I think so too."

Seeing Shuang'er's sweet smile, Qingji also smiled. When Shuang'er's mother came in with the meal, she saw Shuang'er and Qingji laughing at something. Shuang'er's mother said to Shuang'er and Qingji, "It's time to eat." Shuang'er helped Qingji get off the bed. Qingji saw that there were only some wild vegetable leaves in the bowl on the table. He sat down at the table silently without saying anything. Shuang'er's mother said, "These are all we have at home. Don't mind just having a bite first."

Qingji said gratefully: "It's okay, I also want to thank you for your help, this is already very good." He said that he really didn't mind, picked up the bowl and took a sip. Qingji felt that it was no different from water. Shuang'er's mother and Shuang'er also picked up their own bowls and started eating.

After dinner, Qingji came out of the thatched cottage and stood in the yard. Shuang'er's mother was with Qingji. Qingji asked Shuang'er, "Where is this place? Is it far from Luoyang?" Shuang'er replied, "This is Xiushui Village, which is very far from Luoyang. Did you come from Luoyang?"

Qingji thought he must have walked too far without noticing and ended up here. "Well, I came from Luoyang," Qingji said to Shuang'er. Shuang'er stared at him with big eyes and said, "Luoyang must be very lively. I heard from the hunters who used to sell game in Luoyang that Luoyang is very big and lively."

Qingji nodded and said, "Well, Luoyang is very lively. You must go and see it if you have a chance." Shuang'er clutched her sleeves and said, "My family is very poor, so I can't go to Luoyang." Qingji saw that Shuang'er was getting unhappy, so he said, "Then I'll take you to Luoyang in the future."

Shuang'er looked at Qingji with shining eyes and said, "Really?" Qingji assured her, "Really." Shuang'er happily ran to her mother and said, "Mom, he said he would take me to Luoyang in the future." Shuang'er's mother smiled at her daughter and said nothing.

Shuang'er said to Qingji, "Let's go pick wild vegetables. There aren't many left at home." Qingji replied, "Okay." So Shuang'er took Qingji to the back mountain with a small backpack. The back mountain was empty and some trees were dying. Shuang'er looked at Qingji's surprised expression and said, "There was a severe drought this year. Many trees have died."

Qingji used magic to water the trees while Shuang'er was not paying attention. Shuang'er continued to look for wild vegetables. Qingji saw that Shuang'er did not go deep into the mountains, so he asked, "Why don't you go up the mountain?" Shuang'er said, "My mother said that there are wild animals on the mountain and we are not allowed to go up the mountain."

Qingji looked at the lush trees on the mountain and thought there must be a water source or something, so he seduced Shuang'er and said, "Look, the trees over there are growing so well, maybe there are a lot of wild vegetables over there." Shuang'er looked at the mountain and said hesitantly, "But mother said I can't go up the mountain."

Qingji said, "If you don't tell me, your mother won't know. If we see wild animals later, we should hide quickly." Shuang'er was also tempted when she saw the mountain. She hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay, then let's go and come back quickly so that mother won't find out."

Then, Qingji took Shuang'er up the mountain. When they were halfway up the mountain, Shuang'er saw a lot of wild vegetables and said, "Look, there are so many wild vegetables here. Let's quickly dig some and take them back." Shuang'er was about to go to the wild vegetables. Qingji held Shuang'er and shook his head and said, "Let's dig some more wild vegetables here later. If we go up a little further, there must be more."

Shuang'er listened to Qingji's words and said, "Okay, let's go up a little further." Qingji took Shuang'er to the top of the mountain and found a spring. Shuang'er saw a lot of fish in the water and pointed at the fish and said to Qingji, "Look, there are a lot of fish in the water."

Qingji looked at Shuang'er's happy face and said, "Wait here for a while. I'll go catch two fish for dinner." Shuang'er wanted to eat fish, but she was worried about Qingji getting into trouble because of the deep water. So she said, "Why don't we not catch fish? There are a lot of wild vegetables over there, enough for us to eat for many days. The water is so deep. What if something goes wrong?"

Qingji comforted Shuang'er and said, "Don't worry, I'm a good swimmer." Qingji ran to the water to catch fish. As he walked to the water, he said to Shuang'er, "Go dig wild vegetables first, I'll find you after I'm done." Shuang'er looked at Qingji worriedly and said, "Okay, then be careful."

Then Shuang'er went to dig wild vegetables. When Qingji touched the water, he felt like a fish touching water, and instantly came alive. While catching fish, Qingji secretly practiced his internal energy to adjust his body. After adjusting his body, Qingji caught five grass carps and walked to Shuang'er.

Shuang'er saw the fish in Qingji's hand and said happily, "We have fish to eat today!" Shuang'er's pretty face flushed with joy. Qingji looked at Shuang'er's joy and couldn't help but feel happy too. Qingji beat Shuang'er and went back to her home. On the way, Shuang'er asked Qingji, "Hey, what's your name?"

"Qingji, my name is Qingji." Qingji said to Shuang'er seriously. Shuang'er silently repeated "Qingji" in her heart, and then said to Qingji with a smile: "Come on, Qingji, let's go home." Qingji smiled happily when he heard Shuang'er say that. The word "home" didn't know what meaning it had for Qingji, but Qingji had seen all kinds of passers-by in the past, and their feeling made Qingji yearn for "home".
