Chapter 19 I Can't Refuse
"I'm sorry to see you working so hard."
After saying that, Jiang Cheng squatted down and pressed Teacher Lu's legs with moderate force with both hands.
"Please listen to me and let me explain."
Teacher Lu was not angry. He nodded and signaled Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng began to explain.
"Teacher Lu, have you ever thought that I don't need one-on-one, targeted, all-day teaching?"
"In my opinion, there is a difference between a prodigy and a genius. A genius may require your sincere dedication to education, but for a prodigy like me, there are benefits to letting him/her do what he/she wants."
Teacher Lu looked at Jiang Cheng without blinking.
"I suspect you are just trying to find a way to praise yourself."
Jiang Cheng was exaggeratedly surprised.
"I was so secretive, but you found out?"
Teacher Lu was amused.
"You better get up. It's not good to be seen by others."
"How could that be? I'm respecting my teachers and elders. If anyone dares to say that, I'll have a good talk with him."
Teacher Lu pulled Jiang Cheng to his feet and said with deep feeling: "With your mouth, I believe you can win."
"Okay, you have a point. Since you can learn the whole book by yourself, it proves that you have your own way. I shouldn't think of arranging you."
"It's not an arrangement, it's your appreciation of talent and your deep and loyal love for the motherland!"
Teacher Lu's heart was moved.
Jiang Cheng continued, "Teacher Lu, I really need your guidance. How about this? In addition to giving me homework, I will walk with you every night, and you can give me some special lessons along the way."
Teacher Lu thought seriously for a while and then shook his head.
"It's dangerous for you to go back too late at night. It would be best if you could come earlier."
"Sure, I'll be at school at 5:10."
Jiang Cheng agreed readily, and Teacher Lu was also a straightforward person.
"I will go and do some paperwork for you tomorrow. It will take about ten days or half a month. You can't just take foreign books home casually."
"Teacher Lu thinks more comprehensively than I do. Thank you!"
Jiang Cheng did not smile frivolously, but thanked him sincerely.
The person in front of us is someone who has truly made real contributions to the continuation of education.
Jiang Cheng helped Teacher Lu down the stairs. After sending her to the door, she saw someone coming to pick up Teacher Lu, and she said goodbye with peace of mind.
After seeing off Teacher Lu, Jiang Cheng turned to face Grandma Shen and the other three. The four of them looked at each other with curiosity, waiting for Jiang Cheng's explanation.
She said helplessly:
"It's not a big deal. I did so well in the Russian class on the first day that Teacher Lu said I was a rare language genius and offered to give me a private lesson. I couldn't refuse."
Grandma Shen: Jiang Cheng is the only one who can tell the truth in such a hateful way.
Uncle Wang: Does this sound a bit ostentatious? He must have misunderstood. Xiao Jiang is not that kind of person.
Shen Xing: My sister’s “modesty” has started again!
Shen Yue: Sister is so beautiful!
Jiang Cheng was briefly Versailles, chatted with Grandpa Wang for a few words, and then went home with Grandma Shen and the other two.
The way home is still full of laughter and joy, and it is both educational and entertaining.
Jiang Cheng also told Grandma Shen that she would not be back for dinner tomorrow night.
"The real skill is to learn it yourself, but not eating is not enough. Man is iron and rice is steel. If you don't eat, you will be hungry."
Grandma Shen really treats Jiang Cheng well, and she is already thinking about how to deliver food to Jiang Cheng tomorrow.
“Grandma Shen, I’m not coming back for dinner, not because I don’t want to eat.”
Jiang Cheng interrupted Grandma Shen's thoughts and said, "There is a canteen at the scrap yard at noon. I'll get an extra portion for dinner."
"I can't let my smart brain starve with me."
Grandma Shen, who was originally worried, rolled her eyes in an instant.
She just worries for nothing!
Even if there is no cafeteria, this girl can still get free meals.
The four of them arrived home and simply washed up.
Before going to bed, Jiang Cheng still studies until eleven o'clock.
Go to bed on time at 11 o'clock, get up at 4:30 in the morning, continue studying and do morning exercises.
At around six o'clock, Jiang Cheng walked out of the house with a bag of rice in his hand.
Inside was the millet she had saved over the past few days. One pound of millet appears in the space every day, and there are four pounds in the bag in total.
“Grandma Shen, let’s cook this porridge in the morning from now on. I’ll buy more if it’s gone.”
Grandma Shen opened the bag and picked it up.
“That’s too much.”
"Not much. I don't have any rations, and I can't keep eating yours."
Grandma Shen wanted to refuse, but as soon as she looked at Jiang Cheng, she knew she couldn't win the argument.
"Wait a moment."
Grandma Shen wiped her hands on her apron, went into the house and came out again.
"Take it. If you don't, we won't eat it."
Grandma Shen had several industrial coupons in her hand, each of which was very smooth, and it could be seen that the owner usually cherished it.
! .
"How can you think that? Am I the kind of person who doesn't want me?!"
Jiang Cheng took the receipt quickly and looked at it with a smile on his face.
“I am also a person with tickets.”
Grandma Shen looked at Jiang Cheng speechlessly and said, "You have such a big mouth."
Jiang Cheng hugged Grandma Shen’s arm affectionately.
"I am just teasing you on purpose. A smile makes you look younger. Tell me, do you feel happier?"
The smile on Grandma Shen’s face gave the answer.
After breakfast, Jiang Cheng left with Shen Yue and Shen Xing, and told them that she would not be back for dinner in the evening.
The two kids were just like Grandma Shen, worried that she would be hungry. After Jiang Cheng explained, the two kids felt relieved.
The three of them separated, and Jiang Cheng and Sister Wang spent another busy morning at the scrap yard.
When getting lunch at noon, Jiang Cheng didn’t buy dinner first. She waited until everyone had finished buying some and then bought some if there was any left.
It doesn’t matter if she doesn’t have any, she has nothing to be afraid of as long as she has her own space.
After lunch, Jiang Cheng washed his lunch box and went to the cafeteria again.
I happened to see five steamed buns on the steamer.
Just right.
She buys things just to seem to have a way to fill her stomach, but in reality she eats in many different ways.
"Sister Kong, I want two of these steamed buns."
"no!!"
After a sharp "no", Sister Kong turned around abruptly, with her arms spread out, her posture of protecting the food tense and fearful.
Sister Kong turned around and saw that Jiang Cheng didn't reach out to take it for himself. She felt relieved and explained with an embarrassed look on her face, "This is for the night watchman, Old Li."
"Oh - I see. Are there any others left?"
Jiang Cheng asked casually, and Sister Kong's tense nerves relaxed a little.
"I can give you a steamed bun, and there's still some cabbage left."
Jiang Cheng bought the steamed buns and the remaining stir-fried cabbage slices.
Jiang Cheng returned to the office and did not mention what had just happened. He continued to check the accounts carefully.
Sister Wang was very satisfied with Jiang Cheng, who was serious and efficient.
It would be great if I had a city hukou.
But on second thought, having a city hukou doesn't mean one is a good person, and for a moment her matchmaking gene started itching again.
As soon as it was half past four, Jiang Cheng said hello to Sister Wang and ran towards the night school.
Twenty minutes later, Jiang Cheng arrived at night school.
After taking a few minutes' breath, she used ten minutes to finish her meal and appeared at the office door at 5:10 on time.
"I don't believe anyone is that powerful."
A muffled male voice came from inside, but Jiang Cheng's knock on the door was not affected at all.
"Dangdang—"
well! It's time to be passive again.
But she likes it.
