Lin Chaonan glanced at the departing carriage, then at his mother, then at the hoverboard parked in the yard, and finally said nothing.
Although Dr. Li said he wanted to borrow a balance scooter to go back to town and find someone to make one, since he hadn't mentioned it to his mother, it meant he had some concerns. So he decided not to overstep his bounds and do it for her, to avoid making things unnecessary.
And so, because of a meal, Yue Jiuyue forgot to pay the consultation fee, Dr. Li forgot to prescribe medicine because he was thinking about the balance bike, and because of this meal, he forgot his original purpose. Apart from seeing a doctor, he accomplished nothing.
By evening, Yue Jiuyue was almost asleep. In her half-asleep state, she suddenly remembered that she hadn't paid. But then she thought she might have misremembered, since her son and daughter-in-law were home and had some money. They wouldn't do something like not paying for a medical appointment. So she dismissed the thought and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Dr. Li from the town, after seeing all his patients, began to worry about the balance bike he had forgotten. He wondered why he hadn't been too embarrassed to turn the bike around and ask again, why he was so forgetful because of his age, whether he should go to Linjiagou Village again the next day, and whether he should pass the pharmacy on to his eldest grandson...
In fact, his worries were all in vain, because he was so busy on the second day, the third day, and every day after that, he had no time to think about going to Linjiagou Village. By the time he remembered it, it was already the middle of the night, and he could only continue to worry about it.

Although the three Lin brothers were beaten and had their sweet potatoes and money stolen, they did not give up their stall because of this.
Of course, because of the beating incident, they will no longer go to places as far away as the county town. They will sell their goods in two or three nearby towns. Although the income is not as high as in the county town, it is safer!
"Hey, elder brother, second brother, look, isn't that the county magistrate?"
As Lin Chaobei pulled the oven cart home, he kept looking around. When he went up the hill, he unexpectedly discovered something interesting. It seemed that Magistrate Tang was leading a group of people in the direction of their village, but they were quite far away, and he wasn't sure if they were going to their village.
This was only possible because it was Magistrate Tang. If it were anyone else, Lin Chaobei would have shouted for help at the top of his lungs without hesitation.
"It seems so. However, it appears that Magistrate Tang went with a group of people. Could there be someone in that group who is of higher rank than Magistrate Tang?"
Lin Chaodong said with some doubt.
"An official higher than Magistrate Tang, how high must that be? Could it be the Prefect?"
Lin Chaobei stared wide-eyed in surprise, smacking his lips in amazement. But his lips were so dry they were peeling. He tried to swallow, but almost choked, coughing several times before he recovered.
"It doesn't seem like it. That carriage doesn't look like the prefect's; it looks more luxurious."
Lin Chaonan scratched the back of his head, his eyes filled with great confusion.
Although he was not very knowledgeable, he had learned some things besides processing medicinal materials from the people at the Li family clinic. For example, he learned about the clothes and jewelry worn by the patients who came to the clinic, and what kind of wood the passing carriages were made of. He learned some of these things when the apprentices gossiped in their spare time.
