Chapter 35 Thank you so much, my dear son!

"Fourth brother, you're awake!"

The mother and her two children stepped forward and looked at Lin Chaobei with concern. Lin Chaobei had opened his eyes but they were filled with fear. Yue Jiuyue didn't know why, but tears streamed down her face again.

Perhaps they were genuinely happy to see a "miracle".

"Fourth brother, are you hungry? I'll go get you some food."

After saying that, Yue Jiuyue wiped away her tears and went out.

If only such a "miracle" had happened back then!

Yue Jiuyue looked at the bright crescent moon overhead and sighed.

Wiping away her tears, Yue Jiuyue smiled at the crescent moon, then took some firewood and reheated the pig's blood soup that Liu Shi had already cooked in the pot.

"Fourth brother, you're finally awake! If you hadn't woken up, your mother wouldn't have been able to hold on any longer! You don't know, but your mother knew you were gored by a wild boar, that you lost one of your shoes while running, and that you sprained your ankle without even realizing it. When you came back, she found that your ankle was swollen like a dumpling. She told you to go to the doctor, but you wouldn't go. She told you to go home and rest, but you wouldn't go either. She just sat here watching over you."

"Yes, fourth brother, I even dozed off for a while between my eldest brother and me. I could hear us snoring. It was just Mom who stayed by your side the whole time. She just said you were moaning in pain. Mom was so heartbroken that she started wailing again."

The two brothers didn't mention how worried they were when they heard that Lin Chaobei had been attacked by a pig and was bleeding a lot, nor did they mention how hard it was for them to keep watch at night. They just kept talking about how their mother was doing.

"Mother, eldest brother, and third brother have worked hard! Eldest brother, tell Mother to go back to her room and rest. Tomorrow, take Mother to the clinic to have her ankle checked. We can't let Mother have any problems left."

The villagers are all poor. They suffer from minor illnesses and ailments, but they endure them if they can. If they survive, all is well. If they don't, that's fate. In his short sixteen years of life, Lin Chaobei has seen far too much of this.

"Don't worry, I'll carry Mom to the clinic tomorrow, even if I have to!"

Yue Jiuyue: ...

She was so grateful to Lin Chaodong, her wonderful son!

"The pig's blood soup is ready, come on, let Mom feed you!"

As she spoke, Yue Jiuyue scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew on it twice, and fed it to Lin Chaobei's mouth.

To be honest, this was the first time she had ever done something like this in both her past and present lives. If it weren't for the darkness of night, the three of them would have been able to see the blush on her face, which was so deep that even her dark skin couldn't hide it.

"mother……"

Lin Chaobei was moved to tears.

He could only feel the warmth of this motherly love when he was sick. At other times, the adults were busy working, working hard, and had no time to take care of the children at home. As long as they had something to eat and didn't starve, that was enough. At most, they would remind them not to play in the river or go deep into the mountains.

Because he was so fond of the warmth, Lin Chaobei drank two bowls of soup in one go, and then urged Yue Jiuyue to go back and rest.

Yue Jiuyue instructed Lin Chaodong and Lin Chaonan to take good care of Lin Chaobei, and also told Lin Chaobei to rest well and not to move around too much before returning to her room. She didn't even have time to take a shower before collapsing onto the bed and falling asleep.

Lin Chaobei listened intently to the sounds outside, and once he was sure Yue Jiuyue had entered the room and closed the door, he immediately urged his two older brothers to help him out to relieve himself.

"Brother! Hurry! Hurry!"

He can't hold it in any longer!

Inside the outhouse, the sound of "splashing" continued for a long time. When the last drop of liquid fell, Lin Chaobei let out a long breath.

Finally, I can relax!
