Two days later, Yue Jiuyue was taking a nap when she heard a commotion outside, mixed with the barking of her dog. She was woken up and before she could turn over and go back to sleep, she heard Liu knocking on the door.
"Madam, all the ladies, young ladies, and young gentlemen from the county town have arrived! The village chief and his wife are receiving them."
Liu's voice was a mix of excitement and nervousness. After all, it was the first time she had seen those high-ranking people. The ladies and young misses were all as beautiful as fairies from heaven, and the young men were all handsome and dashing, making them truly unapproachable.
"Oh, here it comes."
She didn't really know what she could do, since the village chief and his wife were already taking care of her.
But this is her territory, after all. As the host, it seems rather impolite not to greet her, right?

In the end, the group of "country bumpkins" were all politely chased away by the maids and servants. The main reason was that none of the villagers felt neglected, and they all left happily.
Who told those ladies to actually prepare gifts for them!
To them, those people were high above and not to be trifled with. They would just glance at them from afar and consider it an eye-opening experience, so they could boast to others that they had seen noble ladies, young ladies, and noble gentlemen.
To their surprise, those people even gave them a gift! This was an unexpected delight!
Yue Jiuyue stood at the back of the crowd and did not push forward, so she also received a gift. She didn't know what kind of pastry it was, but it smelled very sweet.
Of course, she was politely asked to leave by an old woman.
Because she was at the very back, the last to receive the greeting gift and the last to be asked to leave, the village chief's wife happened to see her.
