Chapter 570 Almost Slept Until the End of Time

She didn't die from the jolts because she, Yue Jiuyue, was incredibly lucky!

She already had a terrible headache from not getting enough rest, and now she was running wildly on the bumpy dirt road, which was practically killing Yue Jiuyue!

When they arrived in town, Yue Jiuyue was already half-dead. Lin Chaobei carried her into the clinic, which terrified Doctor Li and his apprentices and grand-apprentices.

"What's going on? What's going on?"

"What's going on here?"

"Fourth Brother Lin, what's wrong with Grandma Lin?"

"Make way! Make way!"

...

Dr. Lin quickly took Yue Jiuyue's pulse, and only after he finished did he breathe a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, it wasn't what he thought.

When he saw Lin Chaobei carrying the unconscious Yue Jiuyue, he thought...

Pah! Pah! Pah! He's just imagining things!

"Uncle Li, what's wrong with my mother?"

Lin Chaobei hurriedly asked.

"Well, it's nothing serious. She just doesn't sleep well at night and is restless during the day. I'll prescribe a calming and sleep-aiding prescription for her. Two doses of herbal decoction will do the trick."

Doctor Li wrote out a prescription, had his son pick up the medicine, then gave Yue Jiuyue acupuncture, and then had Lin Chaobei take Yue Jiuyue home.

The journey was bumpy again, and although it was still uncomfortable, Yue Jiuyue's resistance was much stronger than before after Dr. Li's acupuncture treatment. At least she didn't faint and was able to get out of the car by herself when she got home.

Yes, the youngest son and daughter-in-law each supported him on one side.

The young couple no longer needed to prepare the medicine themselves. Yue Jiuyue was much more energetic now. Thinking that the young couple still had to go to town to earn money for her tomorrow, she urged them to go back quickly, eat when they should eat, and sleep when they should sleep. She completely forgot that the young couple had come to find her to eat together and only then realized that something was wrong with her.

"Okay, Mom, if you feel unwell anywhere, you must remember to tell me. You absolutely can't hide it from us anymore!"

“That’s right, Mother. You didn’t even tell us you weren’t feeling well. If my eldest and third brothers found out, they’d skin me alive! They went to another town to look after the shop, leaving us two here. It’s all for our convenience, and also because Xiaoxue is a daughter-in-law and knows how to take care of you, her mother-in-law!”

The two tried to persuade her, and Yue Jiuyue just casually responded with "uh-huh" and "okay," finally managing to coax the couple away.

Once she felt less uncomfortable, she became sleepy and didn't want to do anything but go to sleep.

The kind of sleep that lasts until the end of time.

Yue Jiuyue slept for almost forever, until noon the next day, when she was woken up by the urge to urinate.

Now that she's awake, she should eat and take her medicine, although Yue Jiuyue felt that she didn't need to take the medicine anymore.

But the servants had just been scolded by the Fourth Master and Fourth Madam, so they didn't dare let Yue Jiuyue cause trouble. They coaxed and persuaded her until she finally drank a bowl of medicine.

Then, she slept until midnight, and after resolving the problem, she slept until noon the next day.

This time, she woke up feeling listless again, because she was hungry.

"Madam, please eat slowly!"

The old woman serving her kept trying to persuade her, but Yue Jiuyue was too hungry to listen at all. Nothing was more important than filling her stomach as soon as possible.

She was so hungry and ate too fast that after Yue Jiuyue thought she was full, she soon felt like her stomach was about to burst.

There was nothing I could do but drink another half bowl of digestive soup; I didn't even have room for any calming soup.

After several days of this, with her days and nights reversed and only one meal a day, Yue Jiuyue finally caught up on her sleep.

"Spring flowers will bloom, birds will fly freely, but I am still waiting, waiting for my..."

Humming a song whose lyrics she couldn't quite remember, Yue Jiuyue took a nice bath, washing herself clean and smelling wonderful. She changed into new clothes made by the seamstress and had her hair styled into a pretty bun by a skillful maid before heading out for a spring outing with the two of them.

Yes, once she steps out of her house, she's in Qinghai, free to roam.

"People from Yu'an are so kind!"

"I heard that the people from Yu'an haven't been feeling well these past few days?"

"People of Yu'an, please take good care of your health!"

"Hey Yu'an folks, wanna go cherry picking together? Your cherries are so sweet, my whole family loves them!"

"Yes, even my husband, who doesn't like fruit, keeps urging me to pick more cherries and bring them home. My mother-in-law is getting old and can't eat anything too sour or too sweet, but she loves these perfectly sweet and sour cherries!"

...

Well, Yue Jiuyue was once again surrounded by a group of ladies who had rushed over upon hearing the news, all of whom were very affectionate.

It feels good to be cared for, but being surrounded by a group of people, each offering their concern, is too much for Yue Jiuyue to handle.

But these people were all her benefactors, and it wouldn't be good to be cold to them, especially since they were all concerned about her. So she could only patiently force a stiff smile, thank them one by one, answer their questions, and apologize to them one by one, before finally managing to break free from their encirclement.

This sweet burden!

After all that commotion, Yue Jiuyue lost her mood for continuing her spring outing and led her people down the mountain, intending to go to Nanling or the west end of the village to take a look.

It's been a long time since I've participated in farm work, and I wanted to experience it up close, but without actually doing any of the work myself.

As a result, halfway there, they were stopped by a group of women who were chatting together.

"Hey! Chao Dong's mother, you're all better now? A few days ago, I saw your fourth son hurriedly driving his carriage to town to see a doctor. I was so worried, I was terrified!"
