Upon arriving in the village, Yue Jiuyue did not choose to go home, but went directly to the village chief Lin's house to talk to the clan chief and the village chief about raising crayfish.
The fish, shrimp, and crabs in her lotus pond are the kind that are usually farmed in ordinary lakes, because there are no crayfish here, and crayfish may be from other countries in this time and space, so there may not be crayfish in Donghua Kingdom.
If she wants to raise livestock, she can either do it for the whole village and make money together; or if others are unwilling, she can dig out another lake, Donghu, in the gullies of Dongling, which is upstream of Nanhu. Anyway, her family has a lot of manpower, so digging a lake can be done quickly, and she can make more money by herself.
Yue Jiuyue explained her purpose, then took out two plates of crayfish from the food box, one with garlic and the other with spicy, and taught the clan chief and village chief how to peel and eat the crayfish.
"How is it? Is it delicious?"
After the clan chief and village chief ate a few crayfish, Yue Jiuyue asked.
If she hadn't yet heard their reply, she really wouldn't have wanted to hear the children blocking the doorway swallowing their saliva with such loud noise. The sound was so loud that she couldn't ignore it even if she wanted to. She felt embarrassed to watch the two of them eat, so she wanted to save a few for the other children to have a taste as well.
Actually, Yue Jiuyue already knew the result without even asking.
They couldn't stop eating, what else could it be but delicious food?
Surely it can't be that we chose to eat everything because we don't want to waste food?
"Hmm, it doesn't seem like much when you first start eating it, but you just want to keep eating it. The more you eat, the tastier it gets. But this spicy flavor is way too spicy! Just one sip of the broth makes my throat hurt."
"I actually think the spicy flavor is better than the garlic flavor!"
As they talked, their hands never stopped peeling shells, peeling one and eating it.
Yue Jiuyue naturally loved eating crayfish, but she couldn't continue eating in front of the children. Since she had already heard the answers from the two important figures in the village, she decided to pack up and leave.
"Okay, then Grandpa and Brother will discuss with the villagers tomorrow whether or not we should raise crayfish. Let me know when you've made a decision."
After saying that, Yue Jiuyue left.
Honestly, this was the first time she had ever felt so restless.
As Yue Jiuyue left the village chief's house, it was already getting dark. She turned to look west, where the sunset glowed half the sky red. Indeed, "the sunset glow travels a thousand miles," and Huang Banxian's "weather forecast" was quite accurate.
Upon arriving home, servants naturally came to greet them. Some carried food boxes, some carried wooden buckets, and others led the donkey cart down to feed the donkey and clean the cart.
"Madam, where should we put these?"
The servant asked.
"Send them all to my yard."
"By the way, is any of the boss's group home?"
If no one is home, then divide the food among yourselves and eat your own.
"Reporting to the old lady, the eldest master and the others are not at home, and the fourth master and fourth mistress have not returned either."
The servant answered respectfully.
"Since they're all gone, then divide up the food in the food box and eat it. Leave the steamed crayfish for Xiaoman'er and Dazhuang."
After she left the clan chief's house, she remembered that crayfish could also be steamed. She really hadn't thought that the children were so busy letting the clan chief and village chief taste the crayfish so they could discuss matters related to breeding.
Now that I've remembered, the two kids at home can naturally eat some lightly flavored food.
And how could she possibly go hungry?
The crayfish in the food box were prepared for the whole family, so they weren't served on plates, but in bowls. There were definitely enough for each of the servants in the family to have three to five crayfish.
A bucket of lobsters was brought into Yue Jiuyue's courtyard, which surprised the maids and servants in the courtyard.
Shrimp are also found in the lake, so they had naturally seen them before.
But they had never seen a shrimp with such a big head before.
"Go down to the old house and try the crayfish. If you like it, you can eat your fill next time you have the chance!"
Yue Jiuyue shooed everyone away as soon as she entered the courtyard. She was also craving food and wanted to eat it all by herself behind closed doors.
As a result, just as Yue Jiuyue put on her gloves, someone knocked on the door. It was a Saturday.
"Madam, we'd like to ask, how do you cook this shrimp?"
She is taking care of and accompanying the little girl, so she can't be careless about what she eats. She can't pretend to know what she doesn't. What if she eats the wrong thing and causes a problem?
Well, Yue Jiuyue still has to make the trip; she's afraid she won't be able to explain it clearly.
Then, Yue Jiuyue went down to the old house and taught everyone how to peel shrimp. Seeing that everyone had learned how, she immediately scurried back to her own yard.
She was already craving food, and now she was even more craving it; she had to eat her fill in one go.
It's impossible to eat your fill right now. Maybe we'll have to wait until crayfish are raised in the future, when we can openly and honestly eat to our hearts' content, before we'll have the chance to eat our fill.
"Grandma! Grandma!"
Yue Jiuyue was eating when Xiaoman'er ran over with her mouth still wet. Yue Jiuyue thought she hadn't eaten enough and wanted to continue eating.
Before she could even ask what happened, Xiaoman asked in a loud and boisterous voice:
"Grandma, Liuya said you raise giant prawns here, where are they? Where are they?"
The little girl curiously looked around the yard, searching for the crayfish.
Through the closed door, Yue Jiuyue answered her loudly:
"In the bucket, the one you can see at a glance."
