When an old lady comes, nothing good ever comes of it!
But the other party's yelling and smashing wasn't going to work, especially since she was her own mother. She was absolutely certain that if she left the old woman hanging today, she wouldn't even have to wait until tomorrow before people from all around would call her an unfilial daughter.
That old lady outside is absolutely capable of doing something like that.
She wouldn't care whether her daughter lived or died, especially since her daughter had been married for over twenty years and wasn't much of a help to her son.
Since the original owner's husband passed away, although she has become like a shrew, capable of working in the fields and treating herself like a man, and able to beat anyone who tries to bully her to a pulp, she just can't seem to get it right when it comes to her own mother and younger brother.
During holidays and festivals, the original owner would bring the best food from her family and lead her four sons back to her parents' home, even though her mother wouldn't let them sit at the table when they arrived.
Even so, over the years, the original owner would still go back to visit her mother every year on holidays, bringing her the best things from the family, rain or shine.
Oh, except for this year's Dragon Boat Festival. She herself forgot about the Dragon Boat Festival, so she wouldn't be going back to her parents' home.
Surely it couldn't be that the old lady was thinking about the little things she brought back from her parents' home and came to ask for them back herself, could it?
The banging on the door continued, and the old lady's loud voice showed no sign of stopping. Hearing Liu repeatedly ask the old lady to sit down, rest, and have a drink of water, explaining that she had been frightened by a wild boar she encountered on the mountain yesterday and was resting, Yue Jiuyue immediately opened the door.
"Mother, you've come."
Yue Jiuyue greeted her politely, and before the old lady could start scolding, she immediately sent Liu Shi away.
"I'll take care of my mother myself. There's no need for someone so clumsy to get in the way. Get out of here!"
As she pushed Liu out, she whispered a reminder in Liu's ear:
"Chicken, rabbit, hide well!"
As for how Liu will hide, and whether she can hide successfully, that depends on Liu's abilities.
Even if Liu Shi can't hide it, it doesn't matter; she can just go up the mountain again.
"Mother, what brings you here? This is the first time you've come to see me since I married into Linjiagou Village!"
As she spoke, she picked up the water that Liu had poured and handed it to the old lady.
"Mom, have some water."
"Does this old lady even care about such a small amount of water?"
As she spoke, the old lady waved her hand, spilling water and the bowl all over herself.
It spilled all over the old lady.
Now that Yue Jiuyue knew what kind of person the old lady was, how could she not be on guard?
Just as the old lady's expression changed and she was about to move her hand, Yue Jiuyue tilted the bowl towards her. When the old lady raised her hand to hit the bowl, it hit the rim. Yue Jiuyue then pushed it slightly, and the water spilled onto the old lady.
"..."
"You damn slut! How dare you splash water on me! I'll skin you alive!"
The old lady swung her hand and slapped Yue Jiuyue across the face.
Yue Jiuyue: I'm hiding!
Old lady: I'll hit you again!
Yue Jiuyue: I'll hide again!
Seeing that she couldn't hit anyone and couldn't vent her anger, the old woman frantically spewed out all sorts of foul language, as if the person she was cursing wasn't her daughter, but her troublesome person.
With a "thud," the old lady bent down, picked up a stool, and threw it at Yue Jiuyue. Unfortunately, her aim was poor, and the stool hit the ground.
When Yue Jiuyue saw the stool that had rolled to her feet, she thought, "If it had hit me, would I still be alive?"
