Chapter 237: Discussing the Journey to the West Ying Zheng said happily: "Congratulations...

Ying Zheng said happily: "Congratulations, teacher."

Although he was happy that his teacher had been promoted to the Emperor of Heaven, what made Ying Zheng even happier was that his teacher was not implicated in the turmoil.

Fu Li smiled and said, "Alright, it's almost dawn, so I'll leave now."

"Teacher, please wait." Ying Zheng hurriedly stopped him and asked quickly, "May I ask your honorific title?"

Fu Li's figure gradually faded, but his voice still reached Ying Zheng's ears clearly: "My name is: The Great Emperor of the Nine Heavens Great Sect, the Master of All Living Things, the Master of Yin and Yang, the Master of Merits and Demerits, and the Master of Demons."

The next moment, Ying Zheng suddenly woke up and saw his wife and children gathered around his bed, looking at him worriedly.

"Father, you're finally awake!" Ying Yan quickly beckoned the medical officer to come over and take his pulse again. In a few words, he explained the situation clearly. "Your daily routine is very regular, but today it's past your early morning hour and you're still not awake. Queen Mother couldn't wake you, so she summoned the medical officer, and that's how we found out.

Madam Chu and the others were here before, but she was pregnant, so my mother sent her back. You don't have to worry about the affairs of the previous dynasty; we have the two prime ministers in charge, and I'll be there to assist you."

Before the medical officer finished taking the pulse, Ying Yan wanted to tell Ying Zheng everything he might want to know.

Although Ying Zheng knew that he was fine, he still allowed three medical officers to take his pulse in turn. They announced that he was just occasionally sleepy and was in very good health.

Today's royal doctors have not yet learned the tricks of later generations to falsify information and prescribe prescriptions, and they just say what they think.

After hearing the medical officer's conclusion, the mother and her two children all breathed a sigh of relief.

Zheng Jia ordered the female official, "Send the three medical officers out for me and give each of them a piece of gold cake."

The three medical officers thanked him and left. Ying Zheng said to his second daughter and third son, "Miao'er, Sen'er, I am fine. You can go back first."

The brother and sister were very smart. After hearing this, they knew that what their father was going to say next was not something they could listen to. Ying Miao then took his brother, parents, and sister to say goodbye and left.

Zheng Jiacai asked, "What's going on? Although you've been ill occasionally, this has never happened before."

Ying Yan just looked at him worriedly without interrupting.

Ying Zheng dismissed the attendants again. When only his wife and eldest daughter were left in the inner chamber, he revealed an excited expression and whispered, "My teacher appeared in my dream. She is now the Emperor of Heaven and is going to help the soldiers of my Great Qin who died in battle ascend to heaven."

The mother and daughter looked at each other, both seeming to want to say something but stopping themselves.

Ying Yan was the most impatient: "Father, are you confused in your sleep? Didn't our Grandmaster say before she passed away that immortals cannot interfere in mortal affairs?"

Ying Zheng glared at her and said, "I am wide awake. You heard what the doctor said. I am not ill at all. I am just in a deep sleep and cannot be awakened. My teacher, as the Emperor of Heaven, has entered my dream. If she does not leave, who can wake me?"

Seeing his solemn promise, Ying Yan became somewhat skeptical.

Queen Zheng Jia made the final decision: "Whether he was confused or not, the king's idea is a good one. The spirits of our Qin warriors who died in battle have been elevated to immortality, proving that our Qin is a righteous army, and unifying the world is in accordance with the will of heaven."

Although the Shu Kingdom had various temples, worshiping gods and immortals was only popular among the people, and the government only promoted it secretly.

In the court, from the monarch to the officials, everyone believes that man can conquer nature.

Therefore, even if Zheng Jia still had doubts about Ying Zheng's words, it did not prevent her from using gods and Buddhas to promote public opinion and gain more positive influence for Qin in terms of "legality".

Ying Zheng stared at his wife for a moment and knew that he was unlikely to convince her to believe him.

However, her idea coincided with his own, so Ying Zheng stopped worrying about it. The three of them began to discuss how to create public opinion.

But after a few days, Queen Zheng Jia and Crown Prince Ying Yan had no choice but to believe it.

Because many families of soldiers who died in battle near Xianyang received dreams from their children. The content of the dreams was similar. They would first ask about the family situation, and then tell the family that because he (neutral word) fought bravely, he was valued by Taigong Jiang Shang and was promoted to an immortal, and asked the family not to be sad because of his death.

The Qin king and his ministers reacted very quickly. The right prime minister Zheng Cuo and the left prime minister Li Si held a meeting and immediately united their respective supporters to respectfully request Ying Zheng to be given an honorific title in the court.

After three refusal and refusal, Ying Zheng became the first emperor of the world, named "the First Emperor". He abolished the posthumous title system that judged the emperor by his ministers, and stipulated that after him, the names of the emperors would be the Second Emperor, the Third Emperor, the Fourth Emperor...

And so on, for thousands and thousands of generations.

Although he knew in his heart that since the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, there has not been a dynasty that can last for thousands of years.

But we should always have dreams, what if they come true?

Queen Zheng Jiarong was promoted to the first empress, and Crown Prince Ying Yan was promoted to Crown Prince. The remaining male and female princes were called "princes" for males and "daughters" for females.

He also stipulated that no one except the Qin royal family was allowed to use the titles of "Prince" and "Female Prince".

——Except for the imperial family of the Great Qin, there are no more dukes and marquises in the world, and the titles related to them must of course be abolished.

Then came the reform of the imperial court, from officials to the people, from laws to morals, with the main focus on light taxes and levies, allowing the people to rest and recuperate.

Ying Zheng followed Fu Li's instructions before he left and refrained from building large-scale structures or creating spectacular sights. Even the materials used to build his mausoleum on Mount Li were taken from the palaces of the six kingdoms.

Firstly, those are all good materials, it would be a pity to leave them lying around; secondly, he is a man who wants to become a god after his death, and the mausoleum is just a decoration to hold the corpse, so why bother building it casually?

Because the laws had been gradually revised over the years, many people who had previously been convicted of minor offenses had been pardoned, and the number of prisoners had not increased significantly. Anyone who participated in the construction of the mausoleum was paid a daily wage, which could also offset labor service.

In the words of Ying Zheng: "Take your time to cultivate, there is no rush. I think I can live for many more years."

=====

Let’s not talk about how Ying Zheng messed with his Great Qin in the mortal world. Let’s just say that after Fu Li and Nezha had each sent dreams to their apprentices, they both felt satisfied and met Duobao Tathagata with refreshed spirits the next day.

When Tathagata knew that Lu Ya had not left yet, he knew that he had the power to call the shots in the underworld, so he asked Fu Li to call him over as well, and the three of them discussed the matter of spreading Buddhism to the East.

Upon hearing this proposal, Lu Ya subconsciously looked at Fu Li, his eyes expressing doubt: He wants Buddhism to spread eastward, is your Heavenly Court really happy with this?

Half of the gods in the entire heaven come from the three religions of Xuanmen, and the other half come from Penglai, who are disciples of Fuli and can be considered as people of Xuanmen.

The Western Tathagata said in front of the Lord of Heaven that he wanted to spread Buddhism to the East. Is that really a good idea?

Lu Ya didn't understand, so he chose to wait and see Fu Li's reaction. If Fu Li showed even the slightest sign of displeasure, he would immediately refuse to participate on behalf of the underworld.

Not to mention the deeper intersection between the Underworld and Heaven, just because of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, there is already a considerable rift between the Underworld and the Western Lingshan. If there is a disagreement between the two, they will naturally side with Heaven.

Seeing Fu Li looking calm and asking Tathagata very seriously what he was going to do, Lu Ya was extremely confused but remained expressionless.

Tathagata said, "I have long since asserted that Hinayana Buddhism can only save oneself and will never flourish. However, everyone, including the Future Buddha, believes that Hinayana Buddhism is the authentic Western teaching.

In this case, I will let them take the initiative and act first. As for promoting Mahayana Buddhism, we will slowly lay out the plan."

Fu Li immediately thought of the "White Horse Scripture Delivery" during the Eastern Han Dynasty in history.

She said sternly, "I will not stop the spread of Buddhism to the East, but there is a bottom line - you are not allowed to use the emperors of the mortal world as a scapegoat. If you do not, don't blame me, the Heavenly Court, for turning my back on you."

Now that the throne of Ziwei Emperor is vacant, all power in Zhongtian Beiji is in her hands. Using the emperor of the human world as a raft is equivalent to stroking the tiger's whiskers of her, the Emperor of Heaven.

Only names and tools cannot be borrowed from others.

No matter who it is, no one can challenge her authority.

Tathagata nodded in agreement and said that he would convey her intention to Maitreya Buddha after returning to Lingshan.

As for whether the other party would listen, he couldn't guarantee it.

"The Buddha just needs to convey it." She didn't need to worry about anything else. If the other party didn't listen, she could just make an example of him to scare the monkeys.

Tathagata also made his own request: "I intend to have my second disciple, Jin Chanzi, go to the East, endure countless hardships and dangers, travel all the way from east to west, and bring back the Mahayana Buddhism.

The person who seeks the scriptures can only be a mortal body, but he is also the soul of a Buddhist. There must be many demons and monsters coveting him along the way.

"According to the old monk's idea, I would like to ask Wukong to be the disciple of the pilgrim and protect him along the way. Firstly, he can accumulate merit, and secondly, he can also attain the Buddhahood. Isn't that better than wandering in the mountains all day?"

Although he had been reincarnated in the West and became the leader of Western Buddhism, he still had the memories of Duobao Zhenren for many years. How could he not worry about the future of the disciples of the three religions?

He had a clear understanding of the future situation. Although the path of immortality was free and easy, it also meant no security, so there still had to be a structure.

Wukong is a child with high talent, good character, and strong fighting ability. If he can come to Lingshan to help him, he will definitely be able to help him completely suppress the Hinayana Buddhism sooner.

Fu Li said, "I'll have to ask Wukong about this. If he's willing to go, then go. If he's not willing, I'll help you find a suitable candidate."

Tathagata nodded, without any intention of forcing anything, and went straight to the next topic.

"A true scripture that can be easily obtained is certainly not cherished. The so-called Nine Nines Return to the True Truth means that after leaving the territory of the East, there will be ninety-nine eighty-one difficulties along the way. Will the Great Celestial Venerable arrange some manpower?"

In a major project like the Journey to the West, anyone who participates can share in the merits.

Tathagata wanted to bring the Mahayana Buddhism of Buddha's skin and bones back to the East, and he also wanted to eliminate the forces that suppressed the Hinayana Buddhism in the West. He urgently needed the powerful external support of Heaven.

He understood the principle of settling accounts clearly between brothers. When he said he would reserve a place for Wukong, he was already playing the emotional card. Naturally, he had to talk about some practical benefits next.

As for the Underworld, although the Heavenly Court has been united since Fu Li ascended to power, and its overall strength has long surpassed that of the Underworld, the Underworld is still a veteran force and should not be underestimated.

Even if it was to prevent the other party from causing trouble, Tathagata had to let them get involved.
