Chapter 1: Crossing the Walking Dead, Activating the Portable Store System

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a special physique: Zombie Antibodies!]

Zombie antibodies: No zombie virus can infect you!

As soon as the system notification sounded, Xu Mo felt some subtle changes in his body. He lowered his head slightly, carefully feeling the changes. Although he couldn't explain the specific changes, he could clearly feel that he seemed to have an invisible protective barrier.

"Zombie antibodies, this is really a good thing! Now we don't have to worry about being infected by zombies!" The smile on Xu Mo's face became more and more intense, and his eyes flashed with excitement.

In this zombie-infested world, the most terrifying thing about zombies is that a scratch or bite can cause infection. Countless people, even those who manage to fight their way out of a zombie swarm, ultimately commit suicide due to a minor wound. Xu Mo, who has inherited the original owner's memories, feels this deeply. Now that he has zombie antibodies, the threat posed by zombies to him is greatly reduced.

"It's time to leave here and go outside." Xu Mo whispered to himself, his eyes revealing a determined look. He stood up, patted the dust off his body, and began to carefully check his equipment.

He only had a fruit knife, a half-empty bottle of water, and a pack of biscuits in his backpack. Apart from that, he had nothing. "I'm really broke," Xu Mo smiled helplessly, a hint of bitterness in his smile.

He took a deep breath, calmed himself, slowly pushed open the restroom door, and walked out. Outside was the department store. It had closed before the disaster, and there were few supplies left, but thankfully, there weren't many zombies, so it was relatively safe.

"Let's go to the rooftop first and take a look at the surrounding situation." Xu Mo secretly made up his mind, and then took firm steps and walked straight to the rooftop.

After reaching the rooftop, Xu Mo quickly walked to the edge of the building, placed his hands on the rooftop railing, and leaned over to look down. He saw the street below the department store littered with corpses and car wreckage, a dead silence.

Strangely, there wasn't a single zombie to be seen. Xu Mo knew that it wasn't that there weren't any zombies, but rather that they were all hiding in dark corners, dormant. If there was any movement, they would immediately wake up.

Xu Mo frowned, turned around and went to the side of the rooftop, continuing to observe downwards. This was the side door of the department store, the same one he had entered from before. At this moment, four zombies were wandering aimlessly outside the side door. These zombies were the ones he had disturbed when he had previously entered the building.

Xu Mo stared intently at the four zombies, carefully observing their movements and the distances between them. Each zombie was about five or six meters apart. "Let's test the waters with you first," Xu Mo's eyes flashed with determination, and he made up his mind.

With the experience he had accumulated from surviving alone for over a month, Xu Mo was quite confident in dealing with these zombies. He took a deep breath, adjusted his breathing, and calmed himself down, then turned and hurried downstairs.

Arriving at the side door, Xu Mo cautiously opened it a crack, poked his head out to observe the situation outside, and after confirming that there was nothing unusual, he slowly pushed the side door open. He crouched down, his steps were extremely light, and he approached the nearest zombie in little by little.

Xu Mo knew that the zombies' perception was very weak. As long as he didn't move too much and didn't get too close to them, the zombies would find it difficult to detect his presence. He was completely focused, his eyes fixed on the zombies in front of him, and he took every step with extreme caution, fearing that even the slightest sound would alert the other zombies.
