After a while, a car rushed out of the Alexander community like a wild horse.
Pete sat in the driver's seat, his face frosted and terrifyingly solemn. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white from the strain. He peered through the car window at the blood-red moon in the sky, his eyes filled with panic and uneasiness.
Next to Pete, Sam's face was filled with fear, his body trembling uncontrollably. His brother Ron had died under the last blood moon, and the tragedy was like a nightmare engraved in his mind.
He would never forget the scene of his brother being skinned alive and eaten by zombies in front of him. At this moment, the bloody scene kept appearing in his mind uncontrollably, making his breathing rapid and his eyes full of fear and despair.
"Uh, uh, uh..." Just as they were leaving, Nicholas, who had been dead for a long time, suddenly moved. His stiff body trembled slightly, as if being controlled by an invisible force.
Then, he slowly stood up from the cold ground, his eyes empty and lifeless, like two bottomless wells, and a low roar emanated from his mouth. He mechanically turned his head and looked towards the interior of the community. Then, with stiff and slow steps, he walked forward step by step...
…
Elsewhere, Aaron, having noticed the blood moon, rushed to Xu Mo's house with an anxious look on his face. He looked up at the blood moon in the sky, his eyes wide open, his face filled with shock and tension, as if he had seen a catastrophic disaster about to strike.
After a moment, he took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner panic. He withdrew his gaze from the blood moon and looked at Xu Mo with a hint of pleading, "Sir Xu Mo, I know you are extremely powerful and have superpowers. Could you please help us resist the blood moon zombies together?"
"Okay." Xu Mo glanced at Jie Qian beside him, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a faint smile, and agreed to Aaron's request without hesitation.
Since the Alexandria community had agreed to form an alliance and was nominally considered his "little brother," there was no reason for him to stand idly by. Furthermore, with his current strength, the zombies enhanced by the Blood Moon posed little threat to him.
More importantly, killing these zombies would earn him double points, a perfect opportunity to make a killing, so why would he miss it? Furthermore, making the Alexandria community owe him another favor was a win-win situation.
"Thank you." Aaron's eyes were filled with gratitude, and he quickly said, "Nicholas is the only one on duty at the community gate today. The defense there is relatively weak, so let's go there first."
"Yeah." Xu Mo nodded slightly, then took out a pistol from the system space and handed it to Jie Qian, and said with concern: "Take this, hide in the house, and don't open the door no matter who knocks except me."
"Yeah." Jessie took the universal pistol with both hands and nodded vigorously in response, with a hint of nervousness and determination in her eyes.
After doing this, Xu Mo nodded to Aaron again and said, "Lead the way."
…
After a while, Xu Mo, Aaron and others arrived at the gate of the Alexander community.
"This...what on earth happened here?" Eric looked at the open community gate and the bloodstains on the floor. His face turned pale in an instant and he spoke incoherently, his eyes full of fear and confusion.
Beside Eric, Aaron's brow furrowed into a deep, round frown. The situation was urgent. There was no time for overthinking. The most urgent task was to close the door. Aaron quickly ran over and pushed hard with both hands, each push seeming to exhaust all his strength, his face filled with anxiety and concentration.
While Aaron was closing the door, Xu Mo carefully examined the crime scene. He crouched down slightly, his fingers gently touching the fresh tire tracks on the floor. He stroked his chin thoughtfully and said, "It looks like it was man-made, and the perpetrator had just left the community."
"Who could be the perpetrator?" Aaron asked subconsciously after hearing Xu Mo's words, his face full of confusion and worry.
"Whoever disappears tonight is most likely the murderer." Xu Mo said casually with a certainty in his tone.
"You mean Pete?!" Eric on the other side reacted, a look of disbelief on his face. "How dare you leave the community on the night of the blood moon? You're simply courting death."
As soon as Eric finished speaking, several crisp gunshots were suddenly heard in the community.
"Aaron." Eric gave Aaron a questioning look, as if asking if he wanted to go over and take a look. In the Alexandria community, there were only a few capable fighters. Besides him and Aaron, there were only Aiden, Nicholas, and a few others.
Aaron shook his head firmly and said in an unquestionable tone, "No, someone must be guarding the gate to prevent accidents like what just happened from happening again. If the Blood Moon Zombies break in, the consequences will be disastrous. As for the community, Diana and Aiden will handle it."
"Okay." Eric knew that what Aaron said made sense. Although he was worried, he could only agree helplessly and said nothing more.
"Do you have this information about the number of zombies, the exact time they arrived here, and the direction of their attack?" Xu Mo asked.
Aaron paused, a trace of embarrassment flashed across his face, and then he shook his head helplessly and said, "Uh... no." Unlike ordinary zombie swarms, the Blood Moon Zombie swarms are sudden, purposeful, and temporarily formed.
Unless there is long-range detection equipment or someone takes the risk to investigate, it is difficult to know the number of zombies, their arrival time, and the direction of their attack before the Blood Moon zombies attack.
