Chapter 23 The camp was attacked, and the zombies actually ran?

Hearing Daryl's words, everyone in the camp was shaken in panic.

Everyone's originally calm hearts were instantly shaken by Daryl's shouting. Some people stared around in fear, their eyes wide open; some were frantic, knocking over things around them; and some stood there, at a loss. Seeing this, Xu Mo also shouted loudly: "Calm down, they are just zombies. Get your weapons ready to fight!"

Xu Mo's brows were furrowed, his eyes were firm and sharp, and he shouted loudly. His voice was loud and powerful, as if it had a calming magic, trying to drown out the panic of the crowd. Hearing Xu Mo's words, the others seemed to have found their backbone.

Everyone's eyes turned to Xu Mo, their initial panic gradually replaced by a glimmer of hope. They felt like they had found a beacon in the darkness, a place to lean on. Those with guns took out theirs, while those without also pulled out various melee weapons.

Those holding guns gripped their handles tightly, their fingers trembling slightly as they struggled to hold steady, their eyes filled with tension and determination. Those without guns hastily grabbed nearby sticks and knives, grasping them in their hands and adopting a defensive stance, their eyes fixed warily on their surroundings. Xu Mo also pretended to pull a general-purpose rifle from his backpack (system space).

Xu Mo leaned slightly to the side, pretending to take something from his backpack. His expression was natural, a subtle flicker of caution in his eyes, and then he steadily took out the general-purpose rifle. "Xu Mo." Amy looked at him nervously.

Amy's eyes were filled with worry, and her voice trembled slightly. Her hands unconsciously tugged at the corners of her clothes, and she leaned closer to Xu Mo, seeking a sense of security. "It's okay." Xu Mo comforted Amy, then looked at Andrea beside her.

Xu Mo's lips curled up slightly, revealing a soothing smile. He looked at Amy tenderly, then turned his gaze to Andrea. At this moment, Andrea also took out a pistol from her waist and looked around vigilantly.

Andrea quickly drew the pistol from her waist and held it with both hands, her arms slightly bent. Her eyes were full of vigilance as she quickly scanned the surroundings, not missing any corner. "What's wrong?" Seeing Xu Mo looking at her, Andrea also looked at Xu Mo and asked in confusion.

Andrea frowned slightly, a hint of confusion in her eyes. She tilted her head and looked at Xu Mo, waiting for his answer. Xu Mo explained: "The safety of your pistol is not on. You can't fire the gun without the safety on."

Xu Mo's eyes were focused and serious, and his tone was calm as he explained. He slightly extended his finger and pointed at the safety position of the pistol so that Andrea could understand more clearly. "Give me the pistol." Xu Mo held out his hand.

Xu Mo held out his hand firmly, palm facing upward, his eyes unwavering. He waited for Andrea to hand over the pistol. Andrea didn't hesitate and handed the pistol to Xu Mo.

Andrea placed the pistol in Xu Mo's hand without hesitation. Her eyes revealed trust, believing that Xu Mo could handle it. Xu Mo gently pushed the safety button and said to Amy and Andrea at the same time:

Xu Mo's finger gently pushed the safety, the movement smooth and natural. His eyes moved back and forth between Amy and Andrea's faces, ready to impart important knowledge. "This little red dot means the safety is on, and it's time for you to use it." "This is my first lesson in how to use a gun, remember this."

Xu Mo pointed at the small red dot on the pistol, his eyes etched with seriousness. His voice was steady, hoping that Amy and Andrea would remember this crucial lesson. With that, Xu Mo returned the pistol to Andrea.

Xu Mo gently handed the pistol back to Andrea. His eyes were full of encouragement, and he believed that they could learn to use weapons to protect themselves. Amy nodded. In Xu Mo's tent that afternoon, Andrea had also told her that Xu Mo would teach them about close combat and the use of firearms.

Amy nodded vigorously, a hint of anticipation in her eyes. She remembered what Andrea had said that afternoon, and her heart was filled with desire to learn these skills.

Soon, gunshots were heard from a corner of the camp.

The sudden sound of gunfire from a corner of the camp shattered the brief silence. Everyone's nerves were once again on edge, their eyes filled with tension and vigilance. Around the campfire, Xu Mo also spotted a few zombies.

Xu Mo's gaze instantly locked onto the zombies, his expression turning stern. He leaned forward slightly, ready for battle. However, he didn't fire immediately, for he saw something shocking.

Xu Mo's pupils suddenly shrank, and a look of disbelief appeared on his face. His body stiffened slightly, and he was stunned by the scene before him and couldn't move for a moment. These zombies were actually running! That's right, running! Although the speed was very slow, only the speed of a normal person jogging! But they were definitely running!

Xu Mo's eyes were filled with shock and confusion. His mind raced, trying to comprehend this counterintuitive phenomenon. Was this still the zombie from The Walking Dead?!

Xu Mo questioned this in his mind, a hint of panic in his eyes. The zombie world he had always thought he was familiar with now seemed strange and dangerous. "What the hell, why are these damn zombies running?" Andrea, who was beside Xu Mo, also shouted in fear at the running zombies.

Andrea's face turned pale instantly, and her voice was sharp and terrified. Her body trembled slightly, and her eyes were full of horror. She couldn't believe the scene before her. Hearing Andrea's voice, Xu Mo also came back to his senses from his trance.
