Chapter 5: Fighting, awesome!

Department store, rooftop.

After Rick subdued Moore neatly and efficiently, he walked to the parapet with a frown and a serious expression.

His eyes were fixed on the chaotic street below, as if he was thinking about his next move.

Morales quickly caught up with Rick and stood beside him with a worried look on his face. He raised his head slightly, looked at Rick, and asked, "You're not a police officer from Atlanta. Where are you from?"

Rick narrowed his eyes slightly, scanning the devastated scene around the department store, and replied in a steady tone, "The other side of the road."

"Friendly officer from the other side of the road, welcome to the big city!" Morales gave a helpless smile.

That smile was mixed with emotion and helplessness about the current predicament.

The other side of the parapet.

Andrea and Jacqui stood side by side, looking at the street below the department store in shock.

Andrea's eyes widened, her face filled with horror, and she blurted out, "Oh my God, it's just like Times Square down there."

Andrea had just finished speaking.

"Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang——"

Continuous gunshots suddenly rang out not far from the side.

"Fuck, what's going on?!" Morales turned his head suddenly, his face full of shock, and shouted loudly.

His eyes revealed tension and anxiety about the unknown situation.

"Where did the gunshot come from!?" Jacqui also exclaimed, his body subconsciously tensing up.

"This is the third time!" Andrea frowned and said anxiously.

Hearing the gunshots, the group on the rooftop were instantly thrown into disarray.

Everyone looked at each other, their eyes filled with worry and confusion.

"Hehehe." Moore, who was chained to the pipe, had a strange smile on his face, and said with a gloating smile: "I didn't expect there are lunatics as crazy as me."

"Hey, guys, come and see!" Glenn's eyes suddenly lit up and he shouted excitedly.

"Glenn, what's going on?" Rick's eyes flashed, and he reacted quickly, rushing to Glenn's side.

He looked carefully and saw a young man with an Asian face standing on a rooftop about 20 to 30 meters away.

The rooftop opposite the young man with an Asian face was densely packed with zombies.

At this moment, the young man with an Asian face was holding a pistol tightly in both hands, shooting at the zombies with a focused look.

"Oh my God, is he crazy?" Andrea also hurried over at this time. She covered her mouth, her eyes full of shock and worry.

Jacqui's eyes widened in disbelief, and he murmured, "It's unbelievable..."

Morales frowned, his face full of confusion, and couldn't help asking: "Isn't he afraid of death?"

T, who was slumped against the parapet, looked at the shocked and surprised expressions of the others. He was filled with curiosity and couldn't help but ask, "Hey, what happened?"

Andrea turned her head and looked at T-boy. She explained quickly and concisely, "It's an Asian man. He's standing on the rooftop. There are densely packed zombies on the rooftop opposite his. The young Asian man is shooting at those zombies with a pistol."

"There is such a thing!?" After hearing Andrea's words, T's eyes widened, his face full of surprise.

"Guys, there's good news. Most of the zombies downstairs have started moving towards him." While Andrea and T were talking, Morales also looked nervously at the surrounding streets.

There was a hint of surprise on his face, as if he saw a glimmer of hope.

Moore raised his chin slightly, a hint of anticipation flashing in his eyes, and said, "So, we can leave now?"

Upon hearing this, Glenn also hurriedly looked towards the street below the department store.

He observed carefully, then nodded and looked at the others and said, "There are only a few zombies left. Although there is still a certain danger, there is indeed a chance to leave."

Hearing Glenn's words, Moore's eyes turned and looked at Rick who was leaning against the parapet: "Good officer over there, it's time to go. Can you remove the handcuffs from my hands?"

Rick's eyes were fixed on the young Asian man not far away, his brows furrowed, and he was lost in thought.

Looking at the young Asian man not far away, Rick seemed to see himself hiding in the tank a few minutes ago.

At that time, I was also in a desperate situation, isolated and helpless.

Thinking of this, Rick finally shook his head firmly and said, "We can't leave him there alone."

"Do you want to save a stranger and lose your precious chance of survival? Is there something wrong with your brain?!" Moore widened his eyes, his face full of anger, and shouted at the others.

The others fell silent when they heard what Rick and Moore said.

Everyone looked at each other with conflicted expressions on their faces.

After about five or six seconds, Glenn gritted his teeth and said with a firm look in his eyes, "Rick is right. We shouldn't let him stay here to die, even though he is just a stranger to us."

Glenn's words were like a heavy hammer, hitting everyone's heart.

The eyes of the others gradually became determined. They knew very well that they could not do such a thing as sacrificing others to save themselves.

"Glenn, do you have a way to rescue him?" Andrea asked expectantly.

Glenn frowned slightly, thought for half a second and said, "You can give it a try, but it's not certain."
