Chapter 1 Namimori Daily Life (Part 1)

Chapter 1 Namimori Daily Life (Part 1)

The weather is fine and sunny today. It's a good day for going to school.

It was a perfect school day. Exactly one week after finding Youkawa Rei, Hibari Kyoya finally couldn't resist enrolling her in Namimori Middle School.

On her first day of school, and being a transfer student, Kusakabe Tetsuya led her to Class 2-A, constantly giving her instructions along the way.

"The chairman doesn't like gatherings, so I brought you here. If you're bullied in class, go find the disciplinary committee member, and the chairman will handle it."

Since the chairman brought this little girl home a week ago, Kusakabe Tetsuya has had to worry about both the chairman and this child.

The blond, green-eyed child looked like he'd been raised on a mountain of gold; his face screamed naiveté. He casually gave away jewels, yet he didn't even know basic common sense.

Fortunately, there was no language barrier between them.

Otherwise, it will be troublesome.

Tetsuya Kusakabe taught her some basic common sense, and watching her go from knowing nothing to applying it flexibly gave him a sense of accomplishment, like raising a daughter.

This is also thanks to the other party's strong learning ability.

Yao Chuanling took the schoolbag and said obediently, "Don't worry, Kusakabe-nii, I'm very good."

Tetsuya Kusakabe didn't want to damage the child's confidence, so he just let her in.

After all, her class chairman thought the same way, worried that she might be bullied, and specifically asked Kusakabe Tetsuya to escort her to the classroom. With the disciplinary committee member's presence as a deterrent, others would always think twice before treating her.

In Namimori, the person you absolutely cannot afford to offend is the disciplinary committee chairman, Hibari Kyoya.

But he clearly underestimated the elves' innate affinity.

The students in Class 2-A were surprisingly friendly to the new transfer student.

Kusakabe Tetsuya stood outside the door and saw a group of people surrounding Youkawa Rei, and he felt relieved.

This is the class of Sawada Tsunayoshi—the infamous "loser Tsuna." Several times during his patrols, he has caught his classmates openly or subtly bullying him. If he sees them doing it, he will stop them and give them a demerit, but what about behind their backs?

Tetsuya Kusakabe sighed.

The Chairman must have his reasons.

Yokawa Rei declined several classmates' invitations, looked left and right, and sat down next to Sasagawa Kyoko.

Kyoko Sasagawa smiled with delight and extended her hand: "Hello, I'm Kyoko Sasagawa. Welcome to our class."

She had a feeling that they would become very good friends.

"I am Yao Chuanling, thank you for your care."

Yao Chuanling returned the handshake politely.

She could sense that Kyoko Sasagawa was a gentle and kind person.

The elf's intuition is never wrong.

Everyone was curious about this beautiful new girl, especially since they saw Vice Chairman Kusakabe getting to know her at the entrance.

Gossip is human nature. The classmates chattered amongst themselves, each chiming in with their own comment, all staring at her and waiting for her answer.

Yao Chuanling answered several questions in a evasive manner.

This is a world without monsters or gods; here, she is a heretic.

Her guide also reminded her not to reveal her identity.

So Yao Chuanling changed the subject: "And him? What's his name?"

The boy who sat in his seat, hiding his face with a book, but whose gaze kept drifting this way.

If you're so curious, why don't you come over?

The elves had already spotted him.

The most enthusiastic one, Todo Maruta, looked at the person she was pointing at, his tone full of disdain.

"You can just call him Useless Gang."

Then someone chimed in: "Yeah, that good-for-nothing Tsuna, Yokawa-kun, it's best not to hang out with him, or you might get dragged into it."

"And the infamous good-for-nothing Tsuna, nobody wants to play with him."

"..."

It was full of malice.

Yao Chuanling saw the brown-haired boy open his mouth as if to say something, but then silently lowered his head in frustration.

Sawada Tsunayoshi had heard many similar words, and even more offensive ones. He wanted to refute them, but he couldn't.

Fortunately, someone spoke up for him this time.

The other person frowned, and her displeasure was evident on her face.

"Don't you think it's going too far to say that to your classmate? Apologize to him."

They should be glad she wasn't close to Sawada Tsunayoshi.

In Heian-kyo, she overheard someone in the Onmyōryō (Bureau of Yin and Yang) speaking ill of Sesshōmaru, and under the cover of night, she tied the person to a tree.

Sawada Tsunayoshi looked up in response to the sound.

This was the first time in his memory that someone had been willing to stand up for him.

The few people who had spoken the most offensively came to apologize to Yao Chuanling because of the pressure behind him, and dared not let Yao Chuanling find out even though they were glaring at him.

He clearly didn't want to forgive, but in the end, he cowardly said it was okay.

Would Yaochuan be willing to be my friend?

Even at lunchtime, Sawada Tsunayoshi was still agonizing over this question. He watched Youkawa Rei about to leave the classroom and made up his mind to go up and say hello.

"Hello, Yokawa-kun, I'm Sawada Tsunayoshi."

The girl, who was about to rush out the door, paused and gave him a friendly smile.

"I am Yao Chuanling, it's nice to meet you."

Spirits have a strong perception of people's hearts, and Sawada Tsunayoshi's heart, like Sasagawa Kyoko's, is both gentle and strong.

Besides, she felt a little guilty because of her.

"Um... thank you for today. Please be my friend!"

After hesitating for a long time, Sawada Tsunayoshi finally realized that saying it wasn't as difficult as he had imagined.

He had his eyes closed and was unaware that his cheeks were flushed.

Before receiving a reply from Yokawa Rei, Sawada Tsunayoshi first noticed the familiar black trench coat and disciplinary armband behind her.

Hibari Kyoya looked at him with the familiar gaze: "Oh my, are you all having a group gathering?"

The small rabbit trembled and hurriedly tried to deny its intention to retreat.

My friend's plan was a complete failure.

As Yokawa Rei watched Sawada Tsunayoshi and the other classmates hurriedly run away, the classroom was suddenly empty, leaving only her and Hibari Kyoya.

The elf was puzzled.

They all seem to be afraid of larks?

Is this what the Chairman's prestige is like?

She asked out of curiosity.

Hibari Kyoya yawned lazily and said nonchalantly, "Just a bunch of herbivores."

Herbivores are naturally afraid when they see carnivorous beasts.

"Let's go eat."

Yokawa Rei's thoughts are all written on her face, and Hibari Kyoya, who lives with her, knows she likes food and is very relaxed.

She never missed a single meal, not to mention afternoon tea and late-night snacks. One day, Hibari Kyoya saw Youkawa Rei picking up takeout late at night, and the next day he beat up Kusakabe Tetsuya, who had taught her all this.

Sure enough, she was more eager than anyone else when it came to food, urging Hibari Kyoya to leave: "Kusakabe-nii said there's tempura shrimp today! Hurry up, hurry up."

People in this era are truly fortunate.

Yao Chuanling thought, biting her chopsticks.

The discomfort of being alone in a foreign world is slowly fading away.

The elf peeked at the boy eating next to him.

She had just arrived a week ago. The "system" had barely left when she secretly went to cry, only to be caught by the other person.

The lark not only took her in, but also introduced her to new friends.

Yokawa Rei swallowed the tempura in her mouth in one gulp and thought happily: Hibari is indeed a very good person.

So he took out his phone and texted Tetsuya Kusakabe: "I want strawberry ice cream for dessert and tiramisu for afternoon tea. Thanks, Kusakabe-nii."

Hibari Kyoya, familiar with the process, knew without a second thought who she was messaging and what the messages contained, except—

"If I'm not mistaken, your afternoon tea time is actually during class time, isn't it?"

Hibari Kyoya gave a threatening smile with a wicked grin: "Or are you going to skip class?"
