Chapter 25 Fifteen Years Old (Part 1)

Chapter 25 Fifteen Years Old (Part 1)

Gin Akutagawa and his older brother Ryunosuke Akutagawa lived in a slum from a young age. Resources were limited in the slum, and in order to survive, people had to fight and grab for everything.

Medicine is even scarcer.

If they weren't sick, they could have easily survived this difficult situation thanks to the older brother's special ability, "Rashomon".

Unfortunately, her brother suffered from lung disease, and she also developed a fever.

Today her condition worsened, and her brother, unable to bear it any longer, hid her in the forest and went alone to find medicine.

Gin Akutagawa curled up in discomfort, afraid to make a sound.

She is eleven years old, but looks like an eight or nine-year-old child.

The heartless dogs of the slums were notorious, and she feared someone would capture her to threaten her brother.

If there are gods in this world, please save them.

If there are gods in the world, could they answer her request?

Deep in the forest, all was quiet. Gin Akutagawa could only hear her breathing and the rustling of the wind through the bushes.

No!

Akutagawa Gin's pupils contracted.

And then there were the increasingly close sounds of footsteps on the grass.

But she had no strength left.

She looked up, wanting to beg the person in front of her to let her and her brother go.

She saw a pair of green eyes.

Like the sky, the sea, and the wilderness.

Akutagawa Ginshin slackened.

Children in the slums are forced to learn to read people's expressions. Gin Akutagawa was certain that the person with those eyes had never killed anyone.

Please save me.

They might even take pity on her and help her.

She still had a fever and her voice was hoarse, but it revealed her desire to live.

Yao Chuanling looked her over. She was all alone in this desolate wilderness, with a dagger hidden in her sleeve, and she was thin and sick.

Before she left, Reborn instructed her to be vigilant in the new world and not to reveal herself carelessly.

She didn't know if saving her would cause trouble. But... when Yao Chuanling saw her, she thought of Feng Tai.

This little girl looks just as big as the wind.

She always feels soft-hearted when she sees children, especially those around the same age as the children in her family.

"You won the bet."

The elf gently stroked the top of her head and said softly.

Due to long-term malnutrition, Akutagawa Gin's hair was not in good condition; it felt frizzy but was very soft to the touch.

"Thank you. Are you a healing-type ability user?"

Feeling his body become much lighter instantly, Akutagawa Gin's eyes lit up.

Could healing abilities also cure my brother's lung disease?

She'd do anything as long as the other person agreed!

"Healing...superpowers?"

Yao Chuan Ling was stunned for a moment.

When he threw her over, the pink-haired guy with green glasses didn't tell her that superpowers existed in this world.

(* ̄m ̄)

"Oh dear, I thought you knew."

Since she didn't ask, he assumed she knew.

He told her that the primordial fragment had shattered into three pieces. One piece fell into the flock of sheep, where the desolate god descended amidst the filth; another piece was hidden in the white mist, where the gem in her forehead shone brightly; and the third piece was hidden in a book, passed down through word of mouth without a trace.

She still remembers the expression on the old man's face when he looked at his phone on the subway after she finished speaking.

Fortunately, Kusuo Saiki promised to remind her when necessary, out of consideration for the ten coffee jellies.

Then the elf happily said that he should finish searching quickly.

"What's wrong?"

Gin Akutagawa observed her expression and cautiously probed.

"It's alright." Yao Chuanling bent down and cupped her face in his hands, his gaze intense. "No need to be so polite. Would you like to come with me?"

Although she's new to Yokohama and doesn't have a place to stay yet, she's rich.

Raising a child is no problem!

Her gaze was so intense that Akutagawa Ginzo's desire to exploit her was scorched red.

"I'm sorry. I want to get better quickly and go find my brother. I didn't mean to take advantage of you. I just want to live with my brother."

Akutagawa Gin suddenly hugged her and buried his face in her hands, crying. His tears soaked into a lake around her waist.

Yokawa Reiya also has a younger brother who cries easily, so he's not completely at a loss when faced with Akutagawa Gin's tears.

When she hugged her back, she was shocked to realize that the child was far too thin and frail, with hardly any flesh on her body.

"It's okay. Let's go find my brother."

She gently patted her back, like a cloud or a breeze lingering unintentionally.

She could tell, and she did it willingly.

she does not mind.

In Hibari Kyoya's words, small animals have their own way of surviving.

"If I have the chance, I will definitely repay you."

Akutagawa Gin made this promise.

If my brother were here, he would definitely say the same thing.

They all understand the principle that a drop of kindness should be repaid with a spring of gratitude.

"Okay, I'll be waiting for that day to come."

She left Akutagawa Gin with a thought in mind, so that even if life was difficult, she could grit her teeth and keep going.

Because someone is still waiting for her promise.

Guided by the trees in the forest, she quickly found out the location of Akutagawa Gin's brother, Akutagawa Ryunosuke.

The elf led Akutagawa Gin by the hand, and they hurried eastward at a leisurely pace.

This is a world of superpowers. If she has something different from ordinary people, why not just classify it as a superpower?

Perfect.

The sprite is in a good mood because it doesn't need to hide itself.

'Wow, that's quite the way to keep a low profile. It's always better to be cautious in this world.'

For example, if you encounter someone on the Feng Tai ranking list, being targeted will lead to endless trouble.

'Okay. I'm just an ordinary healing-type ability user now.'

She readily agreed and added a new setting to herself.

Kusuo Saiki fell silent.

Healers with healing abilities are highly sought after; if all else fails, he can just go and rescue her.

Izanami offered him generous terms, only asking that he take care of Yokawa Rei in a little way, which he found hard to refuse.

As the trees thinned out at the outer edge of the forest, two figures could be seen in the distance. One was tall, and the other was short; the shorter one was Ryunosuke Akutagawa.

The babbling brook couldn't drown out their conversation.

"Someone's coming."

One of the tall, seemingly young boys draped a black trench coat over Ryunosuke Akutagawa and looked at them.

He was wearing a white shirt and black tie, and had dark brown curly hair. Strangely, his right eye was wrapped in bandages, leaving only his pale blue left eye looking lifeless.

This person is covered in bandages; is he injured?

Yao Chuanling met his eyes, which were as dull as withered wood, and immediately felt uncomfortable.

An invisible black mud surged in like a tide, gradually enveloping her and dragging her into the ground. In the dark swamp where no sunlight could be seen, a black cat wrapped in bandages struggled weakly.

Dark, suffocating, and all-pervasive.

Desperate.

The elf clutched his chest.

What kind of state of mind could have led her to passively empathize?

It's more serious than seeing Lambo twenty years later.

She took a deep breath and slowly released the discomfort in her heart.

Ultimately, they were strangers, and had nothing to do with her.

"Yin, what brings you here?"

Ryunosuke Akutagawa frowned; she should be resting properly at this time.

He noticed a stranger holding his sister's hand and instinctively activated Rashomon.

The black beast pounced on her swiftly.

"Brother, she is my benefactor!"

Seeing that things were going badly, Akutagawa Gin quickly shouted.

They were not far apart. Although Ryunosuke Akutagawa wanted to withdraw his supernatural ability as soon as he heard this, he did not have enough control over his own supernatural ability, so he could only quickly tell her to get away.

"How unlovable."

The elf pouted.

Rashomon is a supernatural ability with tremendous offensive power, but unfortunately it has not been able to unleash its full potential.

It's still too weak.

Yaochuan Ling, holding Akutagawa Yin, turned to the side to avoid him.

The black cloth was stuck in the ground and then retracted. She glanced at it curiously, noticing a deep mark left on the ground.

"Safe landing!"

She put Akutagawa Gin down and brushed the dust that had just risen and landed on her hair.

She could dodge it by herself, but it wouldn't be good if she accidentally hurt Akutagawa Gin.

"That's fast."

Dazai Osamu clapped and praised, but his eyes remained calm, like a stagnant pool.

It was fast, but not surprising.

He had no feelings for her.

Coincidentally, Yao Chuanling didn't like him much either.

She ignored him and frowned as she lectured Ryunosuke Akutagawa.

"What if I'm a bad guy and I use your sister as a shield because of this recklessness?"

The kid started off fighting and killing right away; he's got a lot to teach him.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa was speechless, and finally managed to stammer out, "I'm sorry."

—Tear the enemy to pieces as soon as you encounter them.

He had always lived this way and never felt there was anything wrong with it.

Yao Chuanling's expression softened.

That's all.

That's just how it is in the slums, so you can't blame him.

Why not take him back and teach him slowly?

So she asked, "Would you and Xiaoyin like to come with me?"

The elf looked at him expectantly.

The newly appointed head of the household is eager to add more members to his family.

She has always loved being around people and has always lived in a large family, so living alone would be too boring and lonely.

Unfortunately, someone shattered her expectations.

The boy she didn't want to acknowledge smiled, his tone cold and malice lurking beneath the surface.

"I was here first. Is this lady planning to steal someone from our port mafia?"

Yao Chuanling was no longer an illiterate girl who couldn't understand the word "mafia," but she didn't know anything about Yokohama, let alone the behemoth that was the port mafia.

She was just thinking that she and the Mafia were quite destined to be together, since both of her worlds were connected to the Mafia.

Ryunosuke Akutagawa apologized to her again.

He pulled his overcoat tighter around Dazai Osamu and said to Akutagawa Gin, "I'm going to follow Mr. Dazai. Gin, what about you?"

Mr. Dazai gave him a reason to live, and for that he was willing to follow Mr. Dazai forever.

Unwavering and steadfast until death.

"I want to be with my brother."

Akutagawa Gin shook her head. She gripped Yokawa Rei's sleeve tightly, then silently let go.

The siblings depended on each other for survival; wherever her brother was, she would be there too.

Even though she longed for the warmth of those around her.

"Okay. I'll come find you guys to hang out again sometime."

Yao Chuanling was somewhat disappointed, but quickly cheered up again.

She respected their wishes.

Since we can't be family, we can still be friends.

but……

She hesitated and asked, "Dazai?"

No way, no way.

What a coincidence!

"It is I, Dazai Osamu," the curly-haired boy tilted his head innocently.

Yale yale.

'...Don't mimic me.'

Before leaving, Ranking Star Feng Tai gave her a ranking book.

The number one ranked character in "The Most Dangerous Person You Shouldn't Approach in Another World" is—

Osamu Dazai.
