Chapter 11 Obsidian Paradise (Part 3)

Chapter 11 Obsidian Paradise (Part 3)

"Dinner's ready."

Yokawa Rei looked expectantly at the sushi and drinks placed on the stone table.

Everyone agreed to Sawada Tsunayoshi's suggestion to take a break, so they found a flat spot nearby to have lunch.

"It feels like a picnic."

Sawada Tsunayoshi looked at the cake that Yokawa Rei had conjured up out of nowhere and couldn't help but speak his mind.

The greedy elf, while holding a piece of sushi, shook its head righteously and retorted, "No, no, this is for conserving energy."

Yesterday, Hibari Kyoya's braid for her hair was a little loose, but she couldn't bear to take it off. The bow at the end swayed back and forth with her head shaking, just like a real butterfly fluttering in the air.

Her ears twitched, and as Bianchi handed Sawada Tsunayoshi the soup with the green and yellow poisonous insects in it, she nimbly grabbed her lunch and ran to the side.

The soup, served in a disposable cup, suddenly swelled and boiled, engulfing the sushi and drinks on the table.

She swallowed the last piece of sushi just in time, looking regretfully at the destroyed lunchbox.

How could you waste such delicious sushi!

She thought the sound wave was only targeting Bianchi's poisonous soup, so she ran away in advance.

Is it too late to regret it now?

Yaochuan Ling pondered.

Of course it's too late.

She wanted to rush out and fight this red-haired girl, just like she wanted to beat up the monster who tried to eat Rokudo Mukuro back then.

But she had already promised not to get involved.

The dejected elf produced a small cake under Sawada Tsunayoshi's shocked gaze.

Oh, strawberry cupcakes, her favorite.

Swallow it in one gulp ^_^

"Why did you bring along some hidden cupcakes?"

Sawada Tsunayoshi retorted.

Yaochuan Ling wiped the cream from the corner of her mouth, then quickly lay down for an afternoon nap like Reborn, leaving the battlefield to Sawada Tsunayoshi and the other three.

The girl holding the clarinet glanced at Yao Chuanling, her eyes lighting up.

"Is this a new style from C&S? I couldn't even get my hands on one. I can't believe someone in a small town like Namimori could actually buy it. You have good taste."

ah? ? ?

Yao Chuanling opened her eyes and secretly glanced at the embroidered patterns on the hem of her skirt.

Tetsuya spends money recklessly.

Kyoya always thought Namimori school uniform was the best looking, and wished she could wear it permanently. But Tetsuya would bring her new clothes and shoes at the beginning of every month.

I'll secretly slip a few gems to Tetsuya when I get back.

"Thank you for the compliment."

Although she didn't buy it.

The elf closed his eyes and continued to pretend to be asleep while eavesdropping on the battle.

This is a victory for love.

When Bianchi unleashed her ultimate dish, "Thousand Purple Poisons and Ten Thousand Reds," Gokudera Hayato knew the outcome was already decided.

He was sweating profusely, as if recalling some unpleasant past events, but he still explained dutifully.

Yokawa Rei silently hid the cake behind her back, her eyes darting around. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Sawada Tsunayoshi and the others. Tsuna's expression was indeed quite amusing, while Takeru, as always, clapped and praised without a care in the world.

The final winner hurriedly ran to Reborn's side.

She said with relief, "It's so good that I didn't disturb your sleep."

Reborn stood motionless, snot bubbles popping from his nose.

"I knew it! Why would my older sister step forward on her own initiative?"

Hayato Gokudera remained silent, turning his head away in dissatisfaction.

As the Tenth Boss's right-hand man, he will surpass everyone else and solve the Tenth Boss's problems.

He is still far from achieving that.

Smoking Bomb has never denied his ambition.

A little yellow bird flew in from nowhere and landed on the elf's head. She nudged Reborn, signaling him it was time to get up.

One wave subsides only for another to rise.

An old man, also dressed in an obsidian school uniform, leaned on a cane and had a matching little yellow bird perched on his back, threatening them with a sinister smile.

"Old witch doctor, you're too despicable."

The elf stared at his friend on the screen, his face showing a coldness that Sawada Tsunayoshi and the others had never seen before.

It's rare to see her genuinely angry.

Rokudo Mukuro was closely monitoring the situation here.

Yao Chuanling wasn't worried about angering Baz; Reborn must have foreseen this situation. Shamal, Lambo, Ippin, even Dino—the meticulous tutors always had a Plan B.

All we need to do is stall for time.

"Then you can use this to pierce through the Tenth Generation."

Baz pointed to the cane on the ground that had turned into a sword, and said with ill intent.

Sawada Tsunayoshi's pained and conflicted expression froze for a moment. He had already made up his mind to end his own life, and he wanted his friends to do it. They couldn't do it, and he couldn't be that cruel.

We must never allow innocent people to be harmed because of this, even if it means sacrificing ourselves.

The benevolent and tolerant future tenth generation has always thought this way.

Yao Chuanling tilted his head in confusion.

She didn't quite understand the complex emotions of humanity—wanting to live yet willingly sacrificing their own lives.

Cowardly yet brave, hesitant yet resolute.

This is Tsuna.

"ten."

Yao Chuanling yawned lazily.

"Nine."

She slowly stepped forward.

"eight."

He touched the hilt of the sword.

"seven."

Buzz smiled triumphantly.

"six."

His smile froze on his face, his withered hand resting on the sword pressed against his neck. The old shaman held a button in his other hand, still shouting.

"If they die, you'll die too. My swordsmanship is pretty good, you know," Yao Chuanling threatened with a smile. "Besides... why don't you take another look at the screen?"

Baz knew she wasn't joking. The elf's hand holding the sword was steady, and although she was smiling, her eyes were icy cold.

His gaze fell on the large screen, and the cunning old man knew he was completely finished.

Reborn's backup plan proved effective. The twin assassins, who had been imprisoned for years, had been dealt with by Shamal and 10+ Lambo.

Sawada Tsunayoshi was deeply moved.

As Yao Chuanling listened to the conversation between the master and disciple, he suddenly noticed a contradiction.

Shamal and Ippin are indeed not Tsuna's family members, so was Reborn referring to himself?

The mischievous and wicked teacher behind the scenes.

Thinking this way, another thought popped into her head: Is Reborn a member of Dino's family?

Reborn, who seemed to have mind-reading abilities, flicked her forehead again.

"If Dino knew what you were thinking, he would cry."

Whether Dino cried or not is unknown, but Yao Chuanling was on the verge of tears.

Clutching her forehead, she said, her voice trembling with fear, "Reborn, turn off the mind-reading ability right now."

She firmly believed that Reborn had the ability to read minds; otherwise, how could he know exactly what she was thinking every time?

"Because you're an idiot."

The Great Demon King answered her question once again.

For a shrewd and calculating person like Reborn, her thoughts were far too easy to guess.

"It's all because you hit my head so hard that I became stupid."

Yao Chuanling retorted, unconvinced.

She firmly believed in her own thoughts; she wasn't stupid.

She always gets first place in every exam, how could she be stupid?
