Nine nights of several words to clarify the beginning and two poems to explain the ending
Qiu Nian reeled in the line quickly, and the fishing rod was bent like a crescent moon, but it was still supported by the fishing line that was as tight as a bowstring and moved around.
"It's a big guy, come and help." Qian Jianjun also hurriedly called out.
The competition was no longer important, whether it was Ke Yike or Qian Jianjun, even Lao Zhou and several ladies came to help.
With everyone's concerted efforts, a hairtail fish, resembling a small silver dragon and weighing several dozen kilograms, emerged from the water with a splash. This huge catch brought everyone immense joy, making them forget about the competition, the results, and the feeling of being soaked by the seawater.
Since Xue Jiuyue does not eat wild animals, including wild fish, after having fun, laughing, and taking photos, all the fish were released back into the sea.
“When you give someone a rose, the fragrance lingers on your hand.” The mood after releasing animals adds a sense of sacredness to the happiness.
Since everyone's clothes were more or less wet, Qian Jianjun's suggestion to go swimming in the sea received a unanimous response.
The yacht is quite large and has a separate room for everyone to change. When everyone, dressed in cool clothes, reappears on the deck, the entire sea becomes lively.
Several men were in better shape than the next. Old Zhou was a former special forces soldier, so his muscles were surprisingly muscular. Qian Jianjun, a CEO who spent all day entertaining, also showed off his physique with eight-pack abs. Ke Yike had a strong body and waist, and the hard muscle lines in his upper body made his delicate figure look masculine. The contrast between his black swimming trunks and his cold white skin was extremely eye-catching. The most unexpected was Qiu Nian, who was perfectly described as "thin when dressed, muscular when undressed." At this moment, he showed off his muscular body, and his muscles were no less than those of Old Zhou. "Xiao Fei" had a similar build to Ke Yike, but was more muscular and his skin was much darker. Only "Xiaopang" didn't have the clear and distinct muscle lines of the other guys, but he wasn't bloated, just sturdy.
Of the three girls, Zhou Ying wore a one-piece white swimsuit with a small skirt, which accentuated her rosy complexion and made her look incredibly adorable. Lin Yiyi was much bolder, sporting a dark blue two-piece swimsuit. While not as minimalist as a bikini, it still brought out her curves, which were usually hidden by her personality.
Xue Jiuyue was the most conservatively dressed, her black one-piece wetsuit covering her body completely. However, the tightness of her figure revealed her perfectly round figure, reminiscent of Mystique from "X-Men," which only evoked a certain allure. However, everyone's attention wasn't lingering there; Qiu Nian once again became the center of attention.
As soon as Lin Yiyi walked out, she captivated Qiu Nian's soul, making him unable to move his eyes away. Lin Yiyi became the only one in his world.
None of that mattered; everyone loves beauty. The key point was that Qiu Nian didn't just look; he grinned with wide eyes. A silly grin would have been fine, but he even had a nosebleed. Whether it was his heroic image on stage, his confident demeanor while fishing, or even his usual cuteness as he trailed behind Lin Yiyi, none of them were more radiant than this current image.
"Let's go swimming." Lin Yiyi looked as if she was used to it, and as soon as she finished speaking, she dived into the sea.
As soon as she disappeared from his sight, Qiu Nian quickly returned to normal, wiped the blood from his nose, proved himself with a handsome diving move, and then swam towards Lin Yiyi in a textbook swimming style.
The little episode was fleeting, and everyone went into the water, enjoying the embrace of the sea, and scattered like swimming fish.
In the end, Xue Jiuyue was the only one standing on the boat, hesitating. The deck at the bow was about two meters above the sea, not very high, but it was still a bit of a challenge for the usually steady Xue Jiuyue.
"Jump down, Sister Yue! The water temperature is just right, very comfortable!" Ke Yike shouted first.
Qian Jianjun also shouted, "Xiaoyue, jump down, it's okay, we are all here."
"Sister Yue, jump down..." The others also followed suit.
Seeing that Xue Jiuyue was still hesitant, "Xiao Fei" and "Xiao Pang" took the lead and urged, "Jump, jump, jump..."
Unable to resist everyone's enthusiasm, Xue Jiuyue put on her goggles, mustered up her courage, jumped high diagonally forward, drew a beautiful arc in the air, and then dived into the water.
The collision of the water's surface and the sudden coolness brought Xue Jiuyue into a trance, but the sound of everyone's "jump, jump, jump..." did not disappear in her ears, but became clearer. Opening her eyes, she was greeted by the proud depth of the sea, but lacking the bright blue it should have been. She then realized it was the pitch-black night sky.
The night was as dark as a tombstone, pressing down on the wilderness, wanting to bury the restless, uneasy desires that grew in the darkness. Dark clouds obscured the moon, and the stars were dim. Only the crackling of burning torches could be used to give courage, but they couldn't illuminate very far, especially through the thick leather.
The shouts of "Jump, jump, jump, jump..." erupted from the crowd in such unison that it seemed as if they were chanting a bewitching spell.
At this moment, a Taoist priest wearing a black robe and a long black beard stepped forward and stepped out of the innermost wall of people. Suddenly, the crowd fell silent, with only the roar of rushing water coming from the side and rear.
The Taoist held a black cloth banner in his left hand and pointed his sword-like finger towards him. He shouted, "You beast, are you still running? If you're so capable, why don't you jump down? Where's your magic power? If you've lost all your magic power, you'll be shattered to pieces if you jump down! God is merciful. If you surrender and hand over the demon pill, I'll let you live! Otherwise, I'll refine you into this Ten Thousand Souls Banner and you'll never be able to reincarnate!"
"What do you mean by slaying demons and eliminating evil? What do you mean by upholding justice? In the end, you are just doing this for my nearly thousand years of cultivation."
When the Taoist heard this, he was not angry but happy, "Hahahahaha, so what, what can you do to me?"
"I would rather die in glory than live in disgrace! I would rather die than help the evildoer."
Before the tough words could be translated into decisive actions, a gust of wind carrying the scent of medicine disrupted the rhythm of both sides.
"With me here, who dares to hurt her?!" A figure that he had known since childhood stood in front of him.
"Who are you to interfere in the affairs of Sanshanbiluo?"
"Qingqiu, Jiuye! You are a forsaken disciple who betrayed your master and ancestors, yet you dare to call yourself a disciple of Sanshan Biluo? If you don't get out of here, I will clean up the mess on your master's behalf!"
With that, the towering figure turned, ignoring the scoundrels behind him. The faint glow of a distant fire cast a shadow across his handsome face. Yet, it didn't affect his stark black and white eyes, which conveyed a tenderness as profound as the rolling hills.
"I told you long ago that humans can't be trusted. Why bother being hurt like this? No one in this world will treat you better than me. As long as you are willing to come back with me, I will take you away now."
The black-robed Taoist priest looked at the figure opposite him with some hesitation. The immense temptation finally triumphed over his fear. He waved the cloth banner in his hand, made hand gestures with his right hand, and muttered something.
"How dare you?" Jiu Ye shouted, turning around angrily and pointing a finger at the Taoist priest. The Taoist priest immediately stopped all movements, his face quickly flushed purple, and he desperately covered his neck with both hands, as if he was being strangled to death.
"Die, or go with him?" He didn't care about the Taoist's life or death, and a fierce struggle was going on in his heart. "Is this my fate? No, I don't accept it, I don't recognize it!"
With a leap, I plunge into the rapids. Without even a moment to move, I plummet like a flying drop, like petals and leaves streaking through the dance of life. The water, once a continuous, inseparable part of the flow, becomes granular, drop by drop, thread by thread, lingering around me, accompanying me in this dance.
Time seemed so long that it almost stopped because of the rapid descent and the final polar wait.
Is this the end? Everything I've loved, held onto, loathed, and hated will vanish... Well, at least this final chapter of my life, including its end, is my own choice, my own will. It's just that I haven't found my true love yet; it's just that I feel sorry for my master.
Master, did you predict this ending?
Master, that kind old lady who cares for me like an old lady. Every time I go to her cave, there will be my favorite fruits.
"Master, how did you know I would come?"
"I guessed."
"Master, can you predict the future?"
"Yes and no!"
"What does this mean?"
"If the future cannot be changed, then are my predictions useful? If the future can be changed, then can my predictions be accurate? Everything I say is wrong, but I have to say it. So it is and it is not, it can and cannot be."
"It's so profound, I can't understand it! Anyway, I see you make calculations all the time. Are they accurate?"
"Whether it's right or not, that's so boring. Look at you, with that pouty little mouth. Just be more relaxed and free, let go of your obsessions, and there won't be so many worries."
"How can I not be annoyed? I can't cultivate the Nine-Tailed Fox and I can't make any progress."
"Letting go of attachments also includes letting go of cultivation itself. Go down the mountain and take a walk in the world of red dust."
"Go down the mountain, will it be dangerous to go down the mountain?"
"Dangerous, very dangerous, extremely dangerous!"
"Then, can I not go?"
“It’s dangerous but fun, very fun, very fun!”
"I'm still scared. Why don't I just stay with Master?"
"How can you give birth to the Nine-Tailed Fox without going through tribulations? Go! Set off now."
"Huh? So sudden?"
The kind master could sometimes be as mischievous as a young girl. She changed the subject, "The one named Jiuye from the Qing family is the youngest Nine-tailed Beast in Qingqiu, and he has immense magical powers. It's said that he can burn his Nine-tailed Beast and reverse time and space. Even I, your master, can't do that. Why don't you like him?"
"Ah? Brother Jiuye? Master, I'll go down the mountain then."
"Haha, go ahead. Remember, cultivation is like love, it's not about thinking, it's about feeling!" The master smiled cunningly, as if he was a thousand years younger.
"I understand, Master. So I'm leaving? Really leaving?"
"Go, go."
"Master, if you don't help me calculate, will there be any danger?"
"I knew you were thinking about this, little girl. Let me give you a verse: 'Kill one life, save one life, complete a cause and effect, end a love.'"
"What? I don't understand. Could you explain it more clearly?"
"The secrets of heaven cannot be revealed. You will understand them naturally when you understand them. Here is a protective amulet given by the Bodhisattva Guanyin. Wear it with you. In critical moments, silently chant the name of Guanyin Bodhisattva and you will be able to turn misfortune into good fortune."
In the long, almost still moments, I recalled Master's loving care. As soon as I thought of this, I silently chanted it in my heart. As soon as I finished chanting, a golden light suddenly appeared before my eyes and instantly captured me.
When I opened my eyes again, I saw auspicious air in the distance, auspicious clouds in the air, the sound of celestial music nearby, and the clear gurgling stream; the flowing water turned into silver snow, and the vines blocked the sun and covered the sky; there were tall and lush purple bamboos, and ancient trees twisted and green at the top; looking at the green mountains in the distance, it seemed that there were cranes holding ganoderma and turtles holding longevity; in the depths of the dense forest, I could see black monkeys offering fruits and elks holding flowers.
Before he could take a closer look at this blessed place, he heard a solemn and pleasant immortal voice: "You are here?"
"Greetings, Great Avalokitesvara!" Although he did not dare to see her face, the natural feeling in his heart and the pressure deep in his soul told him that the person in front of him was the compassionate Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva of the South China Sea who saved people from suffering.
"Your master has done good deeds for thousands of years and we have a connection, so I promised to save you from danger once. This time, I will ensure your safety."
"I bow to thank the Bodhisattva Guanyin for saving my life. I will never forget it."
"Don't thank me, thank your master! Go!"
"My journey will be long and arduous, I hope that the Bodhisattva Guanyin will guide me."
"Well, it's fate after all. I'll give you a poem: The cold stars are like tears filling the sky, the clear light is like silk and wets the pillow; we drink together through the sorrows and joys of the night, and the spring flowers are fully appreciated in sacrifice to the autumn fruits."
"Please forgive me, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, for my ignorance and inability to fully understand your meaning."
"Your master is an expert in deduction. Didn't he tell you that if the opportunity doesn't come, you won't be able to understand the truth even if you see it. Once the opportunity comes, you will be able to understand the truth once you see it. Go..."
The words were still ringing in my ears when a soft breeze blew into my eyes. When I opened my eyes again, before I could think much, I fell into the deep pool and returned to darkness.
I don't know how long it passed, the faint light fading like a candle in the wind, half shedding sad tears, half holding a flame of hope, flickering and ethereal. Finally, it reached over, pushing open the heavy window frame, ushering in long-lost light and color. It felt like dawn or dusk, a hazy mist giving the scene a golden, aged hue. As the initial haze faded, my gaze shifted from the rooftop to the side, and a silhouette gradually became clear: a man. With a slight touch, I felt a hand on my wrist.
There was a tense contraction, followed by two soft gasps.
