Chapter 5 Five Major Disasters

"What's that smell?"

The apprentices looked at each other and found nothing unusual.

"Beep beep! Warning, fire in the car! Warning, fire in the car!"

The onboard computer reacts much faster than the human brain, and the sensors installed in the car faithfully transmit the latest information.

A device used by the apprentices emitted a cloud of choking white smoke, and then a flame leaped out of the device's casing. This device was used to test circuits, a weak current device, and it looked like it had a short circuit.

The fire spread quickly and the apprentices became panic-stricken. They tried to put out the fire with their clothes, but this kind of circuit fire could not be put out that way.

Chen Baoding watched the chaos in the carriage, the veins in the corners of his eyes bulging. He yelled, "Everyone stop! Use the fire extinguisher over there!"

"Pull the safety ring off, idiot!"

"Grass!"

"Do you know how to use it? Just spray it downwards!"

After Chen Baoding's instructions, the apprentices finally understood what he meant. They finally put out the flames before the fire burned through the outer shell of the transport vehicle.

Chen Baoding could no longer control his temper. This was the new car he had just bought!

Just as he was about to curse at these idiots hiding in a corner, the sudden brakes of the transport truck made him hold back his anger.

"What is it this time?"

This time it was a tunnel roof collapse, one of the five major hazards in a mine. Apparently, his recent speeding had damaged the fragile and unstable structure. Some of the rock at the top of the tunnel couldn't withstand the pressure from above and fell off, blocking their way back.

Chen Baoding was terrified. Accidents like this usually lead to a chain reaction. He quickly returned to the driver's seat, not even bothering to care about the apprentice standing behind him. He shifted the clutch into reverse and then backed away at full speed.

Almost at the same time, he and the apprentices were like sardines in a can, pressed forward by their own inertia. Fortunately, the artificial intelligence was powerful enough, and they finally escaped to a safe place before the crumbling boulders at the top of the tunnel fell.
