After leaving the control room, Qin Xin took the two of them on a tour of the activity room, finally stopping at an equipment collection point. She signed their reports, and they were then given two wristbands and a stack of paperwork.
There is nothing much to say about the bracelet. It integrates positioning navigation, basic communication, calendar time and life monitoring functions. Such settings are already very common.
According to the staff at the collection point, the technology of this bracelet was originally intended to be used in pet collars, so now it can be considered as waste recycling.
As for that pile of information, it was actually just the knowledge that was supposed to be stored in the implant. In other words, Jiang Ling's grueling study life had once again come back to haunt her. She needed to memorize that meter-thick pile of theoretical knowledge before completing the next subject.
There weren't many people like her, and the staff were a little surprised when they heard she wanted to collect the information. They said that even in the first batch, there were no people like her who had no intention of using the implants.
Qin Xin accompanied the two of them all the way to the elevator, and before parting, she revealed her purpose: "I'll give you a day to think about it. If you want to try that, just come find me here before noon on the 15th. Don't forget the memorial ceremony tonight, and pay attention to the information on your wristbands!"
Afterwards, Jiang Ling pulled Tang Wanzhou, holding up the pile of information, and followed the navigation on the bracelet. Without taking any long detour, they went straight back to their room.
She sorted the documents on the desk, then picked up the booklet she had distributed last night and turned to the schedule page.
She felt that time was passing faster.
The latter subject is called "Physical Fitness Test and Training", which lasts a total of three months and is expected to start in three days; after that is "Theoretical Knowledge Training", which is basically a week-long exam.
Jiang Ling's memory was indeed very good now. Logically, three months should have been enough to memorize all the information. However, the reality was definitely not that simple. She estimated that those three months were already fully packed with training programs, and squeezing out any more time would be extremely difficult.
So that's why. No wonder one-third of the awakened people still choose to try the implant surgery even though they know their lives are in danger, even though the probability of success is very slim.
"Sister Tang? Do you want to try that operation?"
"I didn't want to at first, but now I have to think about it!"
"Actually, it doesn't matter if I don't do it." Jiang Ling flipped to the first page of the catalog. "A lot of this is from what I learned at university before the war, so I still have some impression of it."
"Really?" She leaned closer. "Let me see... Scientific theory, modern naval warfare, the psychology of loners, battlefield first aid? What the hell is this? Did they rank these things? Why are they all mixed in here?"
"Have you seen it?"
"How the hell have I ever seen anything like this?!" Tang Wanzhou squeezed onto the stool where Jiang Ling was sitting. She flipped through the documents. "The ten thousand digits of pi, a map of low-Earth orbit satellites, and some star map? How the hell am I supposed to memorize all this?"
Were they doing this on purpose? Unethical? Trying to deceive, to launch a surprise attack?
Her expression was a little unnatural, and her face quickly twisted. She seemed to be thinking about something, then she put on her coat again with an expressionless face, opened the door, and went out again.
Tang Wanzhou's transformation was naturally Jiang Ling's doing; it was just one of her little tricks. Perhaps Qin Xin would notice her abnormality, but she certainly wouldn't stop it.
This is a test, a controlled experiment, and a plan that kills two birds with one stone.
Jiang Ling closed the door and muttered to herself in the room: "Lin Yi! Are you there? Help me block the surveillance here. I need to use my authority."
It was obviously impossible to recite those materials, so Jiang Ling planned to use some unconventional tricks.
"Big Sister, I'm always here!" Lin Yi's voice appeared on her bracelet. "Can I see it?"
"Create the file," Jiang Ling replied, "Set the permissions to top secret."
"Okay!"
The next moment, a film of light appeared around Jiang Ling, and all the documents on the desk were suspended. They were disassembled by an invisible force, and all the papers were arranged in a certain order in mid-air. Then, many fine lines appeared on the film, and some blue-purple electric lights danced around.
"Puff~" Some white smoke came out of Jiang Ling's bracelet. It was obvious that it could not withstand the surrounding energy and was overloaded and short-circuited.
This situation lasted for about half an hour.
As the lightning faded, the positions of the papers began to shift. Some duplicated information was ignited by the sparks and slowly burned in the air. The remaining papers gathered together again, but no longer in their original order.
Two hours later, all the supernatural phenomena disappeared and the room returned to peace again.
Less than 40% of the original one-meter-thick materials remained, neatly stacked on Jiang Ling's desk. Ashes fell on the ground, forming a circular blank where Jiang Ling stood.
"Wow, I was so scared, I thought there was a fire!" Lin Yi's voice came from the ceiling.
"How's it going?"
"It's all done, Boss!"
Jiang Ling picked up a broom from the corner of the balcony, took a deep breath, and then began to deal with the remains she had made.
Yes, you read that right. Jiang Ling only took two and a half hours to memorize all the information and organize it well.
