Chapter 7 Cycle

He could hardly recognize where he was; he felt like he had gone to the wrong place again.

Is this the more distant future, or the past of another timeline?

He didn't think his recent confusion could be explained by time travel. This phenomenon, which went far beyond common sense, would only lead to doubt and suspicion.

Soon, he found the answer he wanted in a garbage dump - he had indeed come to the wrong place.

It was a large piece of plastic sheeting with some words written in charcoal pencil. The handwriting of these words was very familiar to Wang Renxing; it was clearly his handwriting!

He didn't remember writing such a letter before, especially one sent to his future self!

The content of the letter was very confusing, like the ravings of a mentally ill person, but Wang Renxing understood what it meant.

“I think that I am, and I am that I think?”

Wang Renxing, who lives in another timeline, seems to want to tell himself that everything here comes from his imagination?

But why did he imagine this terrible world?

This is definitely not the world he imagined. If this world belongs to him, then he should be the god of this world and he should be able to control everything in this world.

However, the reality is that he cannot manipulate the world at will. Obviously, the rules of this world will not change according to his ideas.

He stood there for a moment, then looked down at his hand again, only to find that the piece of plastic sheet in his hand had disappeared. The scenery around him kept changing, but he didn't feel any fear, as if this was the way the world should be.

Of course, it’s not that Wang Renxing is determined, but these changes happened in an instant for him, and his mind and body seemed to have been paused.

In the next moment, Wang Renxing felt that he had come to a new place, and his previous memories became blurred again.

He was now in a dim tunnel, with bright lights at both ends. The tunnel was made up of countless hexagonal stones, and some electric sparks flashed in the cracks between the stones.

Is this world an illusion or real?

Wang Renxing was no longer able to judge it.

He took a cautious step forward, then immediately took three steps back.

A dark figure suddenly appeared in front of him. The shadow was about the same height as him. Although the appearance was blurry, he found that the shadow seemed to look very similar to himself.

He had never seen such a supernatural phenomenon before, and a sense of fear suddenly rushed into Wang Renxing's mind. He felt that he had to stay away from the shadow, but his body could not move.

As if reading his thoughts, a multicolored mass of black air appeared beside the shadow's hand. The air condensed into fragments, which gradually pieced together into a sharp, long-handled axe.

Wang Renxing felt his legs and feet twitching and out of control. It was not until the black shadow completely solidified that he could barely control his body.

"run!"

A lot of red words floated across his vision. He didn't think much about it and didn't have time to think about it. He could only keep running along the tunnel.

Wang Renxing certainly didn't exercise often, and now his disadvantages were clearly exposed. After about ten seconds, his speed slowed down.

He felt like his throat was about to be cut by the dry air, and his body was exhausted as if he hadn't rested for days. This feeling always appeared suddenly after reaching a limit, but the constant fatigue made it difficult for his brain to think.

At the end of his run, his swollen legs tripped him to the ground. He turned his head back in despair, but the dark figure dragging the axe did not catch up with him.

In fact, the black shadow had been staying in the same place since a while ago. It was more like a scary statue than an abnormal creature.

Wang Renxing didn't know what the statue meant; he had no memory of anything like it. He just instinctively felt it was familiar, and he couldn't even explain where this familiarity came from.

The next moment, a door handle appeared on the tunnel wall beside him. His surroundings changed again, and the tunnel disappeared, leaving only a pure white empty room.

This red door handle looks very out of place in the room, but any normal person would try to turn it.

Wang Renxing was no exception. Before he could react, his hand uncontrollably rested on the handle.

A door appeared on the wall, and then slowly opened as Wang Renxing pushed it.

This room should be very familiar to Wang Renxing, as it was his bedroom in his early years.

The bedroom's furnishings remained unchanged from the pre-war era. A grainy photo of his parents sat on the desk. Bright yellow LED lights on the ceiling illuminated the room, creating a warm and soothing atmosphere. The only difference was the view outside the window, which was nothing but carved rock faces.

In the past, Wang Renxing would have relaxed. But now, he couldn't let go of his anxiety.

There is a person lying on that bed!

Who is he and why is he in his bedroom?

Wang Renxing was puzzled.

His curiosity about this person has overshadowed all the supernatural phenomena he had experienced before. Now he just wants to know who the person lying in his bed is.

He approached the bed cautiously, grabbed a corner of the quilt with his hand, and then exerted force suddenly, lifting up the entire quilt.
