Back in the dorm, Jiang Ling discovered Tang Wanzhou hadn't returned yet, figuring she might have had a minor problem. However, the instigator had no sense of wrongdoing. She cleaned herself up briefly, then followed the bracelet's instructions and headed to the cafeteria.
Before he even entered the door, a piece of fried fish-flavored meat covered in golden breadcrumbs flew towards him from an unknown direction.
Time seemed to be frozen, and the piece of meat in a state of weightlessness was spinning on a plane with a thirty-degree inclination to the ecliptic plane.
Some of the ghee on it is thrown out by centrifugal force and turned into tiny droplet-shaped oil droplets in the air due to the combined effects of surface tension and air resistance.
An invisible force, distorting light, blocked their path. The shockwaves from the impact deformed them, shattering them into ever smaller fragments. The remaining kinetic energy altered their trajectory, and they subsequently clung to the wall and floor at the cafeteria entrance.
The snow-white walls and smooth floor tiles were already covered in a splatter of colorful organic matter. These carelessly wasted nutrients had become another feast for the tiny organisms here.
It was not until then that the sound of quarreling in the cafeteria passed through the medium and reached Jiang Ling's ears.
Two groups of people, separated by a long table, were on guard against each other. The table was a mess, and the others around them were hiding further away.
Once these energetic awakened ones get together, nothing good will happen.
Jiang Ling ignored the group's "petty quarrels," stepped over a few unlucky people who had slipped and fallen, and collected some food from the self-service window for dinner. She then placed her plate on a table that hadn't been stained by dirt, a few tables away from the group, and slowly began to savor the food.
Typically, awakened individuals are very rational, thinking comprehensively and rarely letting emotions or physiological chemicals influence their brains. Unfortunately, they are ultimately human, or human-like intelligent beings, and complete rationality is out of their reach.
The phenomenon of being influenced by momentary impulses has also been observed in strong artificial intelligence.
This seems to be a curse against intelligent life.
It brings unpredictability to the future, and also brings various risks caused by it.
"Go away!"
"roll!"
"(Country Z swear word)"
The trigger that led to their conflict was unknown. Jiang Ling's brief observation alone was not enough to analyze the root cause of their quarrel.
The conflict escalated, and the site administrators who were watching remained silent.
All the cameras in the cafeteria were activated and quickly focused on the center of the dispute. Two of them also noticed Jiang Ling not far away.
She looked up and towards their camera, showing a row of lovely white teeth.
The line connecting Jiang Ling and the unlucky dining table happened to be the dividing line between the two groups of people, which gave her a very good observation field of view.
On her left were six young men with crew cuts. The hair on their foreheads looked like it had just grown out. The back of one of them still had ink from yesterday that had not been completely washed clean. On the other side were three unremarkable men, each of them holding some cutlery, as if they were using them as makeshift weapons.
The strength is completely unequal, but the weaker side is the one with more people.
The knowledgeable Jiang Ling knew clearly that there was an amazing power hidden beneath those three ordinary appearances.
"Bang!"
The two men with crew cuts slammed their palms on the table simultaneously, sounding the battle horn. Their hands pressed against the surface with simultaneous force, flipping the entire table, along with the food on it, towards the other side.
The three ordinary men instantly squatted down, avoiding the attack, and then they each chose a target and kicked it hard. At the same time, they threw the fragments in their hands backwards, not using them as weapons.
This is clearly stated in the manual, and in fact, the higher-ups don't seem to have made too many regulations regarding fighting. They simply restrict highly dangerous operations, such as fighting with weapons or using firepower.
If you win, you get a feast; if you lose, you also get a feast - this is probably the idea of the upper class.
The guys with crew cuts obviously did not anticipate the attack from below. The overturned dining table not only blocked the opponent's vision, but also clouded their own thinking.
The three guys with crew cuts were kicked down immediately, but two of them quickly moved their bodies in a protective manner.
“Pah.”
Seeing that their first strike failed, the ordinary men immediately tried to withdraw, but were blocked by the remaining three men with crew cuts. The squatting position was not easy to exert force, and the previous action did not leave much energy.
As a result, they were all pinned down by the weight of over 100 kilograms, and within a few seconds, all nine of them began to wrestle on the ground.
"Oh no! Why can't I see anything?" Jiang Ling put down the sushi roll in his hand and stretched his neck to see the battle situation on the ground.
All tactics become useless in a side-lying or prone position. In this situation, only weight and strength control the situation.
They tore each other's clothes, or used fists and elbows to attack anything they could reach. The scene suddenly became ridiculous, and the onlookers naturally didn't think about whether those situations might happen to them in the future.
Naturally, no one came forward to help. After all, the people here are not fools.
Are you kidding? They are all awakened!
When gods fight, mortals suffer!
The tiles on the floor couldn't withstand their force and shattered. The surrounding tables and chairs were swept by the aftermath of the battle, quickly becoming twisted scrap metal. The textile fibers on their bodies couldn't withstand the deformation either, leaving large swaths of skin exposed to the air. Accidental bloodstains gradually surfaced on the lines of their muscles.
