Chapter 80: The Quiet Earth-Moon Lagrange Point L2 (Thirty-three)

"Is that all? I mean, did the God of Thor predict anything further into the future?" Qin Zhongquan gestured to the first mate, "Have they mentioned, uh, anything after the end?"

"It's hard to say... After all, we've only translated up to the second volume of Revelation, and a lot of the content after that remains in its original form..." The priest hesitated and replied with some difficulty, "That tome is kept by the Vatican on the surface of Enceladus. Even for me, surrounded by the Holy Guards, it's difficult to get a glimpse of it. But I believe that after the end will be a new beginning. It's impossible for such a vast human civilization to suddenly disappear, right?"

"I hope you're right..."

Qin Zhongquan stared out the porthole, his mind unsettled. His mind initially told him that prophecy was mere superstition, a forced association between shooting an arrow and then drawing the target. But his emotions, in turn, beckoned him to examine himself from a different perspective, a character in some historical biography. These two modes of thought, like lovers entwined, inseparable and passionate, disrupted his mental plans and left him with no energy to conclude this protracted confrontation.

A few minutes later, he spoke again, "Let's not talk about this for now. Before that, we probably have a few tough battles to fight. First mate, briefly tell us about our firepower configuration."

"From largest to smallest?"

"What else? We don't need the grand finale of a talent show."

"Uh, okay." The first mate cleared his throat. "We now have six large railguns, eight large pulse lasers, seven 64-cell vertical launch units, two external guided rocket hardpoints, and eight vertical fighter launch platforms. Two fully staffed hangars, two Fighting Falcon-class tactical boats, two Pelican-class transport boats, 16 Valkyrie heavy attack drones, a basic number of Sparrow interceptor drones, and several reconnaissance drones."

"Where are the missiles and torpedoes?"

"We have everything, but not much of anything. The most are the adaptive bees used for self-protection. Captain, you know they are very afraid of death right now. Every one of them wants to survive and collect the mission reward."

"If they were really afraid of death, they wouldn't have become pirates!" Qin Zhongquan said without comment.

"Do you need me to tell you about my experiences? Perhaps this can answer your confusion." The priest beside him waved his arm happily, put his arm around his shoulders, and leaned close to his ear, saying in a voice that no one else could hear, "Do you know those people transporting supplies? Those idiots have no idea about the mountains of goods piled up in the post station, so they just picked some boxes that were nearby. If the station itself didn't have a certain sorting order, your cargo hold would probably be filled with cans - and not cans of food, but cans of paint, useless garbage. Believe me, I saw this with my own eyes!"

"Then why didn't you..."

"Hey hey! You're being rude when you say that. I taught those bastards a lesson."

"But why did it become like this?"

He raised his other arm in front of Qin Zhongquan. Beneath the skin, pale from lack of sunlight, lay a hill of solid muscle. Countless twisted, blue-gray veins pulsed like vicious, flesh-eating parasites. "It's simple. They couldn't move after that, so they had to pick the lighter ones."

"Well, okay. Father, you are really our savior." Qin Zhongquan said with a twitching mouth.
